A guy at my work says he saw him in a pub in Byers Road in the Summer and the first thing he added was that he had a pair of knackered looking crocs on haha -

I got told yesterday that there were 4 deals in the pipeline and the first 3 have been spot on. Sadly there wasnt a name given for the 4th one! -

Craig Moore did the same. Maybe that can be our new signing policy... -

I'd really like Crawford, McDaid and maybe Murdoch to step up with a goal and take some of the pressure off Moore I'd agree with that, especially McDaid. He was well into double figures last season goal wise and scored some cracking strikes, yet his finishing this season has been generally woeful, especially from the edge of the box. -

I'm not so sure. Shankland yes, he will be very hard to replace. But when you think about it, he and the others all got picked up as they had been binned by Premiership teams who didnt think they were good enough - there will be loads of those players in the same boat this summer, its just a case of spotting them. I dont think we were fighting off much competition for them either - especially not Rose or Shankland. Come to think of it, 18 months or so ago probably a majority of Ayr fans wanted Rose binned and would have slated teams of a similar level if they had signed him and predicted him to be a total dud. There's got to be plenty more out there. -

You'd like to think so. And one who is likely to come in and make an impact in the starting XI rather than just a replacement for the bench. -

I fancy Moore to get a couple tomorrow. He hasnt been great the last 2 games but could still easily have had a goal in each game. -

I've still got a feeling Shankland won't be fit for the Dundee Utd / Inverness double header. Obviously hope i'm wrong! -

I'm slightly surprised at the 18 month deals, but happy enough - I doubt either of them have signed on particularly big wages and as both are a good enough standard to have as squad players in their respective positions. Probably an unpopular opinion as he is the current scapegoat but i'd put Craig Moore in the same bracket - I'd happily see him signing on again as long as it wasnt as the first choice striker. -

I do still think we will bring someone in, wouldnt surprise me if it was a loan deal right at the end of the month. -

So based on previous examples i'm taking this to mean no new signing, and Shankland still not back by the time we play Dundee Utd... -

I'm sure I read last week that Smith along with Rose passed a late fitness test for Falkirk game. Just need to get this game out the way and hopefully take something then have 2 weeks to get everyone fit before D Utd game -

I agree and posted in the match chat that ICT away might well be the ideal game for us next. Pressure off a bit and away to a manager under pressure who wont get away with sitting in and giving us all the ball but no space. -

Who said anything about the club doing things differently. How about not jumping down folks throat whenever they make the mildest criticism of the team or a performance, which usually includes the "remember where we were...." line. A line so worn out that not even McCall uses it any more It's the 'happy clapper' chat that annoys me. We were very poor yesterday and nobody in their right mind would deny that. What is a 'happy clapper'? Someone like me who thinks the team have done pretty well in the last couple of years and is enjoying being a bawhair off top of a league we havent stayed up in since I was about 18? Then aye fair enough, but again, what is the expectation? -

How long has it been since your smugness made an appearance, much shorter than a year, eh? Not really an issue is it? What would you have the club do differently, to make someone like myself who is enoying the last couple of years not be a 'happy clapper'? What are we aiming for? -

What gets to me is that it seems that coming up and starting so well is almost counting against us. Of course they have rightly been lauded! We have a squad of about 16, a lot of whom have fans of every other club saying "how is a team with 'Shankland Adams Bell Kerr Moffat Geggan' who were all deemed not good enough for this league. Now this small squad has had a blip, and still sits 2nd with a game in hand and yet the chat is all negative. f**k me. I'd be interested to see how many players every team have used this season. I might be wrong but think our guys may just be tiring a bit. -

Ahhh it's been a while since you came out with this pish. Must be about a year? The 'happy clappers' like myself back then thought Cameron was doing a great job as chairman and that McCall was the right manager as we sat near the top of League One. Been a decent year eh? But now the 'happy clappers' are settling for 2nd in the Championship.... -

After a very quick look through our results since start of last season I think Moore has about a goal a game record when starting in a front 2 with Moffat and no Shankland. -

Random question but does anyone know what season ticket game number the Falkirk home game on December 5th is? -

Clubs in being sensible shocker! I'd happily have a ticket for the Ross County away game before I got on the bus for example, rather than 100% predictably staying for an extra pint in the Mallard then getting annoyed at a 5 minute queue at a portacabin. -

Makes sense in these games where you have to buy a ticket at a cabin outside anyway. -

Not a chance i'd be sending out McGuffie on loan and bringing in a replacment - that just seems bizarre. -

Liam Smith is an interesting one - by all accounts one of if not the best full back in the league last season for a title winning team, yet signed for Ayr on a free transfer so can't have had many bigger offers - having a great season in this league without grabbing all the scoring headlines maybe does still keep a player under the radar. Same again for the likes of him and Rose would be lovely.
