Not gonna lie, absolutely delighted to see that it was fatty Harkins that lost his man for the winner -

Big McGinty got Man of the Match. I'm sitting here in Hospitality drinking Thistles beer waiting on the big man getting a sugar lump then led through the doors like a winner at Cheltenham. -

Think we will get beat reasonably comfortably again, maybe 2-0 in a scrappy game. Managed to get a free day out sorted in Hospitality though so by the time full time comes I doubt i'll be caring about the result in the slightest. Any performance where we don't let big McGinty look like Van Dijk again will do for me. And no injuries. -

Yeah the Sun definitely said he had signed for Hearts. I just took it as typically useless journalism than anything else. Doesnt seem likely they would release him in August then fling him a 2 year deal a few months later. Would be funny though. -

Smith subbed off for Muirhead in the 119th minute. Everyone a winner. -

A quick look at the Raith thread as they realise that they could have 2 from Falkirk Partick Morton and QoS in League 1 with them next year is also fun to read. -

it's a massive cliche but it really is one game at a time - Friday was massive as if we had lost the chances are the fans would have totally lost faith and we would have fallen away. Now that we have won we move onto Morton who are fresh off the back of a 0-3 home defeat so have to be low in confidence. Based on the three previous meetings it will be tight. Think I read that in the games we have scored first we have only dropped 2 points? Shows how important a good start is. -

Agree that 2nd looks unlikely, however a win on Friday would put us 6 ahead of 5th place with 2 games in hand, a far superior goal difference and 3 home games in a row to come. That of course involves us actually going to Dunfermline and winning. -

Ecrepont was sub as Scotland u17 lost 2-0 to Portugal. They play Russia tomorrow in the next game so he won't be involved at Alloa. -

I think so - I didnt actually see him come on but there was a 'Calvin' playing towards the end so must have been him. -

Clean sheet for Doohan and Harvie in a 0-0 draw, with Scotland missing a penalty with the last kick of the ball -

On the other hand, Dunfermline are playing a right up for it Dundee Utd who need a win to cut the gap at the top, 3 days before we go there. Could work out well. -

I'm in the hospitality at Firhill for the Saturday 27th game so that one better not somehow end up getting moved for TV or any other reason haha -

BBC has the Partick v Hearts replay down for a week tomorrow which would mean our game with them being rearranged again... -

It's an international weekend. Just about every team in Europe will have a game or two i'd guess. I'm all for slating the SFA but to it in this instance is laughable. I was right up for this game as had a whole big day out planned with family plus friends down from Greenock, but i'm choosing to be happy that 3 of our players are included than go off on an OF like rant about how meaningless international fitba is. Re: Harvie - he's been in the u19/20/21 squad for a couple of years now I think so they obviously rate him within the system. There's every chance they've not actually seen him play much in the last couple of months haha! -

I see Doohan, Harvie and Miller have been called up to Scotland U21 squad, with the games clashing with our home tie with Morton.... -

I've only just discovered this thread. Can't believe I was at Alloa v Ayr on Saturday without realising the tie was doubly significant. An actual six pointer, if you will.- 241 replies

Aye it's a strange feeling - we haven't lost anyone which is obviously good, but also havent really done much exciting either - Muirhead and Cadden seem almost like for like replacements for Ferguson and McGuffie rather than guys who are immediately coming in to improve the starting XI. Time will tell - at least once Alloa is out the way and we have Adams and Kerr back the matchday 16 should start looking quite strong again.... -

I got the impression from McCall's interview post game that he wasn't that confident of getting anyone in, which is a bit concerning. Just need to cross the fingers for tomorrow -

I think it's a certainty. The best business McCall could do anytime soon is arrange to get him back next season. Robby McCrorie knocking us back seems like a stroke of luck to me... -

How good is Doohan though? A fucking brilliant keeper. I'm 34 and this is the first time I can ever remember being totally confident when the other team is pumping big high balls at us, even late corners etc. The lad is class. -

We got slaughtered when we signed Shankland too (fat and shite) from what I recall. Worked out OK. Kerr was past it. Adams wouldnt last 3 games. Bell an average League 1 player at best. Gary Harkins on the other hand was going to be a superb signing. Moral of that fascinating story? That you generally need to wait and see!
