  1. That was a Dunfermline fan. He is apparently on a rolling monthly contract so i'd imagine we would get very little, although would probably be due some for Scally too.
  2. Team talk for Sandy Stewart: "time to go out and show if you are top of the league because of Ian McCall like everyone says, or because you are actually good players and a right good side". Heading up to this on the train and it will be my first game since Morton on opening day, which fitba wise seems a lifetime ago.
  3. f**k it, i'll take the team on Saturday. Team talk need to be at 10am before my cans on the train up. Same XI as Saturday, same tactics, nobody get injured if possible. Toaffee.
  4. I think he is definitely away. No idea what we should do now - it's a very strange situation in that you really want someone to come in and do very little - we cant sign anyone until January and the players are on form and in a system that seems to suit them really well. A new manager from outside the club is going to come in, not know the players or their style and you could easily have 2 months of 'experimenting' dropping us down the table fast. I'd be tempted to keep it in house for the rest of the season as I think the team at the moment playing the system they do would be comfortably safe from relegation.
  5. So....predictions for a week from now? Still sitting top of the table and McCall delighted to welcome a couple of the injured players back for the trip to Arbroath......Or down to 11 fit players, one of which is temporary player manager Mark Kerr...... All depends if you are a glass half empty or glass half full kind of person I suppose haha!
  6. The difference was that if in those days Dalziel had lost the equivalent of Murdoch to injury for the season he would already have brought in about 4 replacements. Possibly by signing someone for a fee from a team in the same league. Or maybe if someone had lost form. Or if he just fancied a change in 3 or 4 positions. The amount of cash we must have spunked was unreal. A semi competent manager with that money and backing at the time would have romped us into the Premier. Yes we got a Cup Final and some great cup days but I can't help but lpol back on those days and see it as a massive under achievement that all we really did was get a day out at Hampden to get humped 4-0
  7. Loved McCowans reaction to Forrests penalty going in on Saturday. The players do seem right up for it this season.
  8. Wrexham have gone from 9/5 when the odds came out on Skybet on Monday to 4/7 now on B365. Can only be down to the Ayr team news although we knew about the three Scotland u21s and a couple of the injuries at that stage. Swing has basically come with the news that Adams and McGuffie are out when you think of it.
  9. Think with Kelly it's more likely he just wasnt picked - looks like they had Gilmour who played for Chelsea plus regulars at Motherwell and Aberdeen ahead of him - no issue there. Have to admit I don't see McCrorie as a better keeper than Doohan at all but maybe thats just AUFC blinkers. Interesting to see who starts in Cfoatia as they do seem to rotate a lot. Harvie got last 3 mins.
  10. I'd say you can get away with the likes of Geggan in a 3 man centre midfield far more than a 2. I'd be happy enough with say Geggan Docherty and Kelly as the 3 with the two wide men and striker that we have been playing, far more than any two of those 3 with one sacrificed for an extra striker.
  11. What actually happened? Was it a tackle / bad landing after a header or what?
  12. Yup. Gutted for him. Fingers well and truly crossed his rehab goes well and he comes back strong next season, hopefully at Ayr.
  13. Worrying that Ross, McGuffie and Adams now all on the 'couple of weeks / will be assessed' list. Really could do with picking some points up from the Alloa / Arbroath double header at the end of the month - really hope nobody else gets a knock at Wrexham. Id honestly play the u20s.
  14. Zanatta seems a good player and i'd have taken him. Still, seeing as the diving wee p***k knocked us back may I say get it up you Dario for: losing the league on the last day at Starks Park. Between his spells at Raith, Alloa and now Partick there can't have been many players on the losing team against Ayr in the last 3 years more than wee DZ.
  15. Need to trust McCall but Doolan in for Moffat makes me a lot less confident.
  16. If he starts (don't think he will) i'll 100% be backing him to score first / anytime, based simply on the circumstances of the game rather than anything else. Reckon it will be same team as last game tbh. We weren't good but it was a 1-0 win and don't see any obvious changes unless its a total formation change.
  17. Does anyone know the terms of the Frank Ross deal? Looking like a horrific waste of a wage if we are paying him anything significant.
  18. Aye - but only cos I saw it described on Wrexham's twitter as "The xxxxx xxxx derby". I would never have got it so won't spoil haha
  19. On the subject of Club v Country, I noticed that our home game with Dunfermline at 3pm on Saturday 16th November is a clash with the Cyprus v Scotland Euro Qualifier at 2pm the same day. Wonder if some games might get pushed back to 5pm or something to let folk watch one then go to the other. Although in saying that, that date is also the Quarter Final of the Tunnocks Cup so that game may not even take place anyway if us or the Pars were to make it that far...
  20. All 3 home games for Welsh teams last year were on the TV on the Saturday night as far as I can tell
  21. Nah, we need someone that's good enough to come in and be a first choice.
