  1. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/malik-tillman-holds-rangers-permanent-29218297#comments-wrapper Headline on the article: “Malik Tillman holds Rangers permanent transfer non negotiable backed by Jurgen Klinsmann at Bayern Munich turning point” Wtf is that absolute word salad even supposed to mean???
  2. Headline on the Courier site about Kevin Harper taking Lochee United to court. Anyone able to get past the firewall?
  3. They also acted during the transfer window. We didn’t. It’s almost like they’ve noticed that spending a couple of hundred grand now makes far more sense than potentially losing a couple of million by getting relegated.
  4. Just wait till you DO draw the Old Firm and the “journalists” are all sniffing around looking for an interview with the guy who’s “Rangers/Celtic daft”: ”It’s the biggest game of my life”, ”I can’t wait to run out at Parkhead / Ibrox” (cause they will be drawn at home) “all my friends & family have been on the phone for tickets” “I’ve been told if we do win then I’ll not be welcome at Mum & Dads for a while!” Despite being paid a full time wage by another fucking team.
  5. Downfield are definitely chucking cash (amongst other things if the rumours are to be believed) at signings. Carnoustie strong favourites for me, although they’re just halfway through their season so could be derailed by a couple of injuries to key players. Especially if they happen at a point in the season when they’re playing 3 games a week, where a slight knock could see you miss 6 games. The sad loss of Mark Johnson will of course affect Carnoustie in several ways, but I’d imagine it will have a particularly big impact on their licensing effort. He’ll have been central to that.
  6. The absolutely gushing tone of the match report on the BBC website made it clear what their take on the match would be. An absolutely predictable 4-1 victory over a team in poor form who are battling relegation. You would be excused for thinking Celtic stood on the edge of an historic achievement rather than simply repeating something they’ve done practically every year for over a decade with minimal resistance.
  7. Unless you’re Craig Gordon apparently. Seemed to make a difference that night.
  8. The two most underwhelmed supports post-transfer window. Just utter apathy.
  9. Looking forward to listening to the football tonight! Actually, on second thoughts, might not bother…
  10. Yeah, very sad news. A more dedicated committee man you will never see.
  11. One of which is a match against Celtic where most United fans would probably accept a 3-0 defeat if offered it right now. So, let’s call that 1 match in hand and fingers crossed to still be above County come full time.
  12. No, I was just suggesting that £4million seems a little optimistic if Nisbet’s worth £2million. I know it’s potential you’re buying with Macleod, but with the best will in the world, he’s been in the 1st team for over a year now and hasn’t exactly set the heather on fire.
  13. So it’s £2million for Nisbet and we reckon we’re getting £4million for Macleod…
  14. I studied in Glasgow for a year with a load of West Coasters on my course. From day 1 they all knew I was a United fan, and whilst I don’t think they ever asked who my “big” team was they definitely expected that I would have a preference one way or another. They seemed to struggle with my proclamations of equal distaste for both sides.
  15. Do you think Tony had to do this ad as community service for his recent speeding offence?
  16. God, Kris Boyd is an insufferable c**t. Obviously, there’s no way United will take anything from this match…
  17. From the BBC live text updates of todays games: “Big turn-out to welcome Shinnie Aberdeen v St Johnstone (15:00) Tyrone Smith BBC Scotland at Pittodrie The Aberdeen fans have certainly bought into the Graeme Shinnie factor. I'm told that his return has added about 1,000 to the expected gate.” Surely not??? Decent player at this level, but he’s hardly what you’d call box office is he? I have a hard time believing 1,000 folk have woken up today and thought “I know I said I wouldn’t bother going today, but GRAHAM SHINNIE’s back! Take my money!!!”
  18. Haven’t seen that rumour. Who’s doing the sniffing?
  19. I don’t see how anyone could remove United from the equation. We’ve had a few decent results lately, but annoyingly they tend to be matched by the teams around us.
  20. He had a good career, but as someone said previously about another player the problem is probably more with the totally over the top initial hype than with the player or their actual career. I always hear about the time McGeady took the piss out of Maldini so I looked it up. As far as I can see Maldini played against McGeady 3 times in the mid noughties. In those 3 matches Celtic scored a total of 0 goals. I’d imagine Maldini would happily take a “roasting” like that every week if it ended with a clean sheet.
  21. Then of course immediately balanced that by devoting almost exactly the same amount of time to explaining why an absolutely routine 2-0 Liverpool win over a relegation candidate with a fraction of their budget for which the bookies would scarcely have given you odds demonstrates how incredible their manager and players are.
