  1. We signed that guy Newman at the start of the season. He’s 19. Is he not good enough to sit on the bench (probably) for another 4 or 5 games?
  2. Mellon just talking up the send off they received yesterday for helping to inspire them in their mauling of Aberdeen Dearie me indeed...
  3. “And Hibs are within touching distance of the semis!” Fnarr!!!
  4. I reckon Bain’s had a shit season, but there’s barely a Celtic player that wouldn’t apply to. I rated him very highly when he was at the Dees and I reckon if you got him playing & confident again he’s still a good keeper.
  5. There are some decent keepers in and around the league who shouldn’t be too far out of our reach - I like Jak Alnwick at St Mirren, but he’s under contract for another season so that might rule him out. Liam Kelly has done well on loan at Motherwell, he may be available one way or another next season. Depending on what happens over the summer it might be worth a phone call to Celtic to enquire about Bain. I hope we’ve learnt our lessons from the season we went down when we started with Zwick and Szromnik, who had played about 3 professional games between them. I think that was a huge factor in our eventual relegation.
  6. Tonight certainly confirmed my belief that if Siegrist leaves this summer we can’t go with Deniz as no.1.
  7. I see one of the headlines on the back of The Sun this morning is basically “New Celtic Chief Exec Owns BLUE Clothes Shocker!!!” Presumably he should have turned up to work in a green suit covered in shamrocks?
  8. I’m assuming he’s raging that Hearts have scandalously been denied a place in the proposed European Super League?
  9. Rangers second goal goes in and the commentator’s immediate reaction is “Steven Gerard’s side are on for a league & cup double!!!” Because it looks like they’ll get to the quarter finals but hey if Celtic are out it’s game over, eh?
  10. Absolutely, that was just blue sky thinking. If he were even remotely interested in roles like those he would get way better offers than we could put to him. Only chance he would come to the club would be as a manager if he still had ambitions to make a name for himself in that role. And I wouldn’t want him as manager.
  11. I suspect McInnes will have far greater ambitions than Dundee United. If we were appointing a first team coach or a head of youth then he’d be first name on my list. As a manager though he’d be near the bottom.
  12. Wow. He’d need to go down south for at least 5 years and do a sterling job before either of them would consider him I’d reckon. Pressleyian levels of self delusion.
  13. Doncaster can probably pay him more than us, and provide him with more transfer funds. How much of a step up for his career it would be to move to a mid table league one club is open to debate however. I suppose it depends what his priority is at this stage. If he were to move on I’d love to see us approach McInnes, but I think he’d have to be out of work for a good while before he’d consider us. Robinson probably more realistic and would still be a decent appointment.
  14. “Or if I can play more than 3 games in a row without my head falling off”
  15. Yeah, just had a 25 minute drive into town and only heard 1 team mentioned in that time. Bonner adamant that the Celtic fans “deserve” an update on the managerial search for some reason, despite the fact that anything they could be told would be so vague to the point of being utterly meaningless.
  16. Well they say “palace”, so maybe it was Crystal Palace who made the announcement? Can’t wait to see the mental gymnastics performed by fawning commentators at the weekend when they describe the inevitable minutes silence for Prince Phillip followed by the taking of the knee anti-racism protests though...
  17. Then ignoring them in favour of meaningless Rangers & Celtic matches.
  18. Is banging his fist off the desk his “thing”? I seem to recall him doing that in an interview shortly after he got the Falkirk job whilst repeating “I GUARANTEE you we will not be relegated!”
  19. That’s worked well the last 2,046 times he’s tried it and been completely ignored whenever the next job comes up.
  20. 1 in 10 of the people who wanted colt teams - which was 23.2% of the total survey, so about 2.3% of all those who responded. I think.
