Watching the stream and I think even the comms were surprised to see the red card out - looked innocuous. I think Easton has done well to sell it, McGinty's got a lazy leg out there and he's made it look like he's been cut in two. Never a red for me, but it's done with and we've gone and conceded a headed goal to someone who's not exactly got an aerial presence.

If we have everybody fit, does McGeady get in the starting team? I thought he had a very quiet game yesterday in an unfamiliar position and I don't believe he's got the legs to play out wide.

I hate not being able to stand in it but I am enjoying seeing the massive changes in it every time I visit the stadium.

Have to disagree on Dempsey, I thought he was a controlling presence in midfield.

A very welcome three points. It was hardly an inspired first half performance but we got the goal at the right time and managed to see the game out until half time, although Airdrie can feel unlucky not to have scored. I have absolutely no idea how Dowds found himself in so much space at the corner but it was a well-directed header back across the goalkeeper. I thought the game largely passed McGeady by and i suspect he might have been hooked at HT were it not for Murphy having to go off early doors. Second half we looked far more purposeful for fifteen minutes and we were unlucky not to double our lead. It looked like some last ditch defending down the Railway End but it's impossible to tell from behind the goals. Pleased for the boys to get it over the line - i think we might need some practise at time wasting as we're not very good at it!

Pitch looks in brilliant nick. Should hold up well as I doubt the ball will be on it much either.

Frustrating as we were doing absolutely fine, then Albinson pretty much throws one in. I have to say I don't think Mutch is capable of being the #1 but Albinson has been directly responsible for far too many goals this season.

I'd have preferred it to be away from home but it's good to play a side we've not faced before I guess, especially as it's a winnable tie.

Nobody would care about the off-the-park stuff if the team on the park was any good. Unfortunately, we are flirting with relegation and churning out eye-bleeding football so all of the off-field stuff is under a magnifying glass.

It's funny, you'd have thought with everybody in the one place that the crowd would be louder, but actually it's made it even more like a library than last season.

When McCall took over Ayr we were similarly struggling. In his first game we were soundly beaten at Brechin and he spent most of game taking notes and assessing the squad. He is capable of turning a team around quite quickly but it sounds like you'll need to get the transfer window before that happens.
