Agreed, I just wish the chairman and the club didn't come across as being so pleased with themselves about it. Just personal taste, I guess.
This might be your best shitpost yet.

The number of quality players we had in those few years, frightening to look back on now. McCowan was almost an after thought at the time but he did grow in to the team eventually.
As for Rose coming back next season, I would rather he did not

I've only just clocked our first penalty. The referee certainly made two decisions there
It was an interesting dive for sure.

Think the problem with Chalmers is he's good when he's good but he to inconsistent.
The new stand looks good is the seats for normal fans of for people who are in the function boxes.
A mixture.

Can't get my head around Airdrie making the playoffs, given how poor they've looked every time they've played Ayr. It just shows you how bonkers this league is, right enough.
Still plenty twists and turns I feel, for some reason I don't think QP will finish ninth.

Chalmers was decent in his cameo, he was left short with a few passes by our technical manager (and they struggled to get on the same wavelength) but overall he did well. He set up Dowds, who somehow poked it wide from a few yards, and also put in the deep cross that led to Musonda's blocked volley. Chalmers will never score an easier goal than he did today but I do get the impression that Brown won't be going out of his way to sign him, which is a shame.

All the best for next season lads, I am sure it won't be too long until we see you back in the Championship.

Franny starts and we win 5-0. Coincidence? I think not.

45mph gusts - another one of the purists (if it doesn't get postponed!)

There aren't many teams in the Championship with out-and-out decent wingers; how many times do we actually play against one? I would say Dom Thomas is about the best and even he is kicking about at Queens Park!

Looking at the way Brown set up at Fleetwood I would be surprised not to see us line up with 3 at the back and 2 wingbacks next season I don't think he had the time to change the full playing style to that this season Paddy potentially could get away as a LWB but Nick he's not got the speed to get up and down the pitch, if we are playing that we need two good full backs on both sides.
You need exceptional wing backs to play this well, not something that we often see in our division. I think Thistle are one of the few teams who could pull it off with McMillan and Milne both great players.

There's actually a bit more of an atmosphere when there's a smaller away support packed into the one area rather than spread out over the Railway End. I think it was the Rovers fans who were saying they loved it when they beat us earlier in the season at Somerset. Not to be tit-for-tat but the away facilities at Cappielow must be one the worst in the division.

Oddly enough I end up sitting right behind Andy Jackson discussing the efforts of a team still hanging from the night before in Dundee
A true legend of the game, I haven't seen him in years!

Sat in the car park at Beveridge park wondering how my life led to this.
Just like being back in the IFA.

Watch this space. Mark McKenzie will be inking a new 4 year deal shortly.

The main defence of him here seems to be that he can cover multiple positions in the back 4. Can someone with a better memory than me recall how many times he’s actually done this?
The only time I can think of him playing at centre back this season was one of the top 3 worst Ayr games I’ve ever watched, at Cappielow in January.
He can cover centre half about as well as I could cover an incapacitated Boeing 747 pilot.
Literally played left back in our most recent game.

As Robbo says, he is good to have around in that he can fill a number of positions. Should he be starting in any of them for a team with designs on the top four? Absolutely not.

Francis Amartey must play in this fixture, Rovers cannae handle him.

Great win considering the team sheet looked like vision vomit. Will we ever see McGinley play? Is Dimi away?
No.
Yes.

Who was that guy? He lost the plot at the end!

He was playing as a right back, and was good there?
Agreed, he was decent and McAllister was actually a better LB than RB!

So that marks 9 league games under Brown's tenure, I think (10 since he was appointed, but he was in the stand for the Arbroath win at home).
So with a quarter of a season under him, what's the general consensus? 5 wins and 4 losses is the record.
Do we feel we are starting to look quite safe? Are we confident going into next season? Is the jury still out? Is this squad just far too inconsistent to make a judgement on managerial ability so far?
Noticed this form table and couldn't believe it. This league is nuts.
I'm genuinely in disbelief at the form table there, we've been rotten for a fair few games under Brown. We're so inconsistent i just want us to secure Championship football next season and then see what happens. The random selection policy has me concerned but I can't argue with the form table.

Yuuuuuuuge three points and another step towards safety. Cannot fathom this team: one week we're totally lifeless and the next week we're throwing bodies on the line and winning every 50/50. Jamie Murphy was outstanding tonight, although McGinty also played very well and great to see him score in front of the cameras too.

Think the ref has seen the arm out the corner of his eye and thought he's swung an elbow. Certainly not violent conduct but I'm sure the referees union will think it's a magic decision.
