  1. You've confused animal welfare with buying a dog. I've heard of people travelling to Wales for new cars and mid england for dogs, but they did so knowing that they shouldn't.
  2. Chris Smith is a policeman too, so I think Denny may have had to stop football during police training, that used to be a residential thing over a number of months.
  3. Discussion now amongst the experts seems to be about how we live with the virus, so it could well be that restrictions inc social distancing are in place for a good while yet. Mind the R rate is only one part of the info the experts consider, they also look at hospital capacity and other factors
  4. I think the timing around the suspension of leagues below the championship fuels the conspiracy theories. If I remember right, some of the junior teams / leagues had publicly raised concerns late in the week before, then the celtic Dubai controversy kicked off over the weekend and the leagues were suspended early in the next week. Easy to suspect that the Celtic issue was a factor in that decision, but not necessarily correct.
  5. I'm driving a 2016 grand cmax and had a 2006 cmax a few cars before that. If its space you're after, the grand cmax, s max and galaxy are good options. They're also great to drive
  6. My Dad bought a pre reg touran 1.9 tdi in 2006, it's still in the family now with over 160k on it. I've had it for holidays, one of my brothers for a few months and now my other brother has it full of decorating stuff. It's never broken down (jinx) and is still going strong. They're great solid, no frills, plain old ronseal motoring. I had a golf estate 1.9 tdi with 70k on it when it broke a piston. The car was comfy enough, but the touran was much better when loaded up with a family of 5 and gear.
  7. Sounds to me like brabco have made a poor investment. When we sat through their proposals at the public meetings what I understood of it was that if they didn't get the housing at renton they couldn't fund the new ground. If they cant build a new ground then they cant leave the Rock and when the rock site is emptied, it needs a lot of remedial work to sell it on. They're prospectors, not investors.
  8. Had to call a breakdown company out once to change a tyre, but that was because the wheel had got stuck on the hub with rust. Theres only so much lying under the car booting it can achieve, sometimes you need a man with a hammer. In that instance the mechanic pulled it off using a ratchet strap tied from the wheel to his van. My advice would be to have both call out cover and ability to do it yourself
  9. Ah! I've been blaming the rest of the family using bandwidth [emoji51] some apologies owed I think. So the east fife game ran fine on the telly because it's not pixellot, but our games are.
  10. The figure I heard, was essentially the value of the site if they were to sell it to housing developers.
  11. No comments made about the foul on Carswell that injured him? Looked a stonewall foul against EF yet went against us.
  12. I've started buying used bikes for my kids from the likes of Bike for Good in Glasgow. Normally a decent choice of bike at a good price, checked and serviced properly and the profits go back into charity work. I've had 3 bikes from there now and they've all been good deals.
  13. Borrowed my Dads spare road bike yesterday as I'm thinking of changing my hybrid for one. Took it on a great ride to Balloch and then Glen Fruin. Noticeably faster and less comfortable than my heavier bike, but then a lot of that I think is down to saddle shape and tyre size. The Glen Fruin road is a wee country road that connects the Balloch area to Garelochhead, a couple of steep hills but in the main its through quiet farmland.
  14. I loved our C4GP, hope you enjoy it
  15. He was very good going forward and scored a couple of good goals for us, decent defensively too.
  16. The 52 plate had about 70k on it when the fuel pump went. It was the 1.5 diesel and the advice was to get rid because of the likelihood of debris being pumped to the second pump and fuel injectors and the larger expense needed to fix that. I checked on it using the mot checker a few years ago and it was still running with over 100k on it. The c4gp was a bargain, 3 years old ex motability but with 67k on it already. We had it for about 4 or 5 years so it was around 110k when we traded it in. The mechanic I sold it to ran it for a bit as a bus for his child minder wife, but only for so long.
  17. I've had a 52 picasso, an 06 cmax, a 57 grand picasso and now a 65 plate grand cmax. I got rid of both citroens when they started breaking down, they were great motors for the family; huge, practical and comfy. I got rid of the picasso when the fuel pump went and I was advised to get rid. This was quite a basic model and it was the only problem it ever gave us. The grand picasso was the exclusive model and everything fancy on it broke at some point; egs gearbox bearings, egr valve, electronic handbrake, air suspension and compressor. When it was running it was a great motor. I would have another but not with all the bells and whistles. The two fords aren't quite 3 full size seats across the back, but take my 3 easily now they're all out of car seats. The 2 fords have been good motors for us, but I would have loved the smax or galaxy.
  18. Glad you're not badly hurt, hope you can get out again soon.
  19. The tip I remember is that at the bottom of the stroke to bring your foot back as if scraping shite off your shoe. For me, that means trying to flex my ankle on the way through
  20. Your body will definitely change, I've found that I had to reduce my running and football in order to still enjoy it. I was able to replace it at the time with the gym and swimming, I started yoga recently too and really got something from that. What if you set your class or session times up as being exercise time? Normally go to Spin at 6 on a Tuesday, then that's your cycling time. The lack of routine is hugely unsettling, I didn't appreciate how busy our week nights were until they were suddenly empty.
  21. I couldn't find the picture, but when Mark Dempsey was playing for us we played partick thistle at ours. We had black shorts, yellow top with black sleeves, they had black shorts and a top that was half yellow half red. Depending on which way the thistle players were running everyone looked the same. Ref had us change at half time. I'm sure Davie Craig captained thistle that day and there was the standard pre kick off photo with the captains and ref
  22. I'm coaching a 2011s team and want to do something to prepare for starting back, but dont know where to start. So many questions and unknowns about facilities, coaches, games and players it doesn't seem worth trying to do anything just now. One thing is for sure, if the efl and spfl cant get teams training and put closed door games on with all the tools at their disposal, we wont be doing anything. That's probably a good marker.
