The Italian setup is in some ways similar. Serie A - own organisation Serie B - own organisation Lega Pro - levels three and four then you have the National Amateurs' League running levels 5th through 9th So it's like having SPL1 and SPL2 as two separate organisations, with a two level SFL below Borys

I'm not saying that Sevco will get an average of 4-5K Bums On Seats. I was just trying to find a rough break-even point for Sevco. I'm not going into guessing how much they may get, just what's the minimum they need I bow before your knowledge. All I known is that 1st Div teams playing in front of 3-4K people have 1,5-2M budgets ... Borys

5500 per game paying 10 quid equals a million pounds a season. Or 4000 per game paying 15 quid equals a million pounds a season. With the upkeep of IP and MF mentioned here being 3M a year my ballpark calculations point to Seveco needing an average attendance of 12-15 000 per game to cover the cost of the ground alone. Borys

I read the nice report from the St.Mirren meeting. I can understand where Gilmour comes from but ... FFS he says things like "had we 12 months to prepare" and uncertainty over sponsorship. I say BS to that as it's his - and the other twelve (eleven) owners of the SPL - fault. Had he and other CEO's/owners kicked the butts of the people they employ (Cockwomble) they'd have "certainty" by now. Administration began in February and HMRC rejection of CVA was announced on 1st June (?). But the latter event's probability had been duing the rounds for weeks before. It was simply bad corporate management NOT to discuss "what if's" with sponsors. Just as not deciding beforehand what do with Rangers and later Seveco5088. Bad corporate governance ... As to St.Mirren not being prepared - there's the summer transfer window looming ... ADDED LATER: They could have held an EGM! Borys

I fail to wrap my tiny brain around the fact HOW - with such Gillespies around - a club which was an "institution" and "indispensable" for Scottish football and "darling of (half) of the establishment" - was allowed to pass into the hands of a shady Sassenach. Surely there must be monied people amongst Rangers support - why did a dozen or so not band together and cough up 6M Pounds. Borys

This is like reading Tintin all over again LOL! My back-of-napkin calculations point to gate-sharing being practically neutral for the Edinbra teams and Aberdeen - possibly Dundee too. It would be the bottom 6-7 who would gain. With a stronger bottom and a minimally weaker top the competition would still improve, IMO. Borys

IIRC that's not the case and a bit convulted ... One of the Sevco's is to apply for transfer of SPL share and - if granted - would then apply to join SFA. This is to happen somewhere next week. But in order to speed up the application processing process the SFA asked to be given the papers necessary for their SFA application BEFORE the relevant Sevco tries to replace Rangers (in liquidation). So yesterday was the deadline for Sevco to give SFA the papers which might become of relevance next week. Or so I understood .... Borys
