  1. More exaggeration, I believe, I have it at 17 games during that period. (If I've missed one, I apologise). But at no time during that period were Talbot idle on a Saturday, and only 3 times were they playing 2 midweek games. Not every week as some would have you believe. Wed 29/03 – Talbot 1 Clydebank 2, League Sat 01/04 – Caley Braves 2 Talbot 1, SRCC Mon 03/04 – Talbot 3 Buffs 1, League Sat 08/04 – Talbot 1 (3) Buffs 1(2) West Cup Semi Mon 10/04 – Talbot 1 Beith 2, League Wed 12/04 – Talbot 1 Troon 1, League Sat 15/04 – Clydebank 2 Talbot 1, League Mon 17/04 – Talbot 4 Cumnock 0, League Wed 19/04 – Arthurlie 0 Talbot 3, League Sat 22/04 – Talbot 2 Arthurlie 0, League Tues 25/04 – Largs 1 Talbot 0, League Fri 28/04 – Talbot 2 Clydebank 0 West Final Mon 01/05 – Glens 3 Talbot 1, League Wed 03/05 – Beith 1 Talbot 2, League Sat 06/05 – Meadow 1 Talbot 3, League Wed 10/05 – Hurlford 0 Talbot 2, League Sat 13/05 – Darvel 2 Talbot 2, League
  2. Because the SPFL doesn't start till 5th August. So there is no ground share problems till then.
  3. Did any team actually do that? 24 games in 8 weeks seems a lot. Or is it really a bit over exaggerated to try to justify your point?
  4. Here's the numbers to look out for.
  5. Less than 24 hours to go.
  6. I suppose you could always start a 'Why is this not in the 'Take it to another thread' thread, thread?'
  7. Still doesn't answer the question of replacing them if they move out of the 'Licenced League'.
  8. So, you want an 'Elite League' then? What happens when an Elite team moves up and doesn't get replaced by an Elite team from the Lowland League? Do we look for the highest placed team with floodlights to come into the Elite League no matter where they finished?
  9. If that's a pop at me, then go ahead, fill yer boots. I am involved in the administration of both the SRCC and the SJC. I don't believe that they should be considered as 'Rival Competitions'. I believe that there's room for both cups. They operate separately and have different formats. Time to quit the squabbling and get on with it. And to prove my point - West of Scotland Football League - News (wosfl.co.uk) Who do you think published this on the WoSFL website and promoted it here?
  10. West of Scotland Football League - News (wosfl.co.uk) Full Draw available here.
  11. It could be that teams are playing with a view to not losing, rather than going all out for the win. Anyway, I need to go again. My 12 year old grand-daughter wants on the computer as the SPFL have heard that she does the fixtures for the West and they've asked her to get their fixtures sorted for next week.
  12. The season finishes in June. The Premier Division has a deadline to meet to provide a champion to go forward (or not) to the Lowland League Play-Offs. The new season starts now and the first game is on the last Saturday in July. As it was last year. So far with all league fixtures in place the last game in the Divisions would be 30th March. But we all know that will not happen. Games will get postponed for all sorts of reasons, so just because a Saturday doesn't have game attached to it doesn't mean we're into an extension.
  13. You're missing Camelon from your count of 15 teams that do not enter the cup until Round 2
  14. I've no idea where you got that date from nor why you think an extra date was bolted on to the end of last season Premier Division. It was always down as finishing by the 13th May to allow participation in the Lower Pyramid play-offs if required. (Which it wasn't).
  15. My expectations are the same as always. The Scottish weather will make a bigger impact on the schedule than any cup.
  16. I'm still waiting to see the Format of the Scottish Cup.
  17. There's only one Rossvale. Caledonian Locomotives are a separate club and still Juniors.
  18. I don't know anyone could argue that it was a thrill a minute final. A lot of finals in a lot of cups seldom give you that. But the Scottish Junior Cup is not just about the Final. It is so much more than that. The vast majority of teams know that they will not reach the final yet they still enter. As happens in loads of other cups.
  19. We actually had 9 new entrants but lost 2 entrants from last season. Hall Russell and Whitehills as you said. St Cadoc’s and Finnart as new members from the West. Kello Rovers returning after a ban. Rossvale and Pollok competing as non-members as allowed in the new rules. Pumpherston returning to the competition and Camelon returning to membership from the East. A total of 9 new clubs. Syngenta folded and Harthill Royal did not take up Junior membership. A loss of 2, making it a gain of 7. Of the increase in Byes into the Second Round we gained 6 and lost one. Beith as winners of the West Premier, Culter as Winners of the North Premier, Carluke, Glenafton, (New Members of SFA) & Pollok, Camelon. (SFA Full members that did not participate last season). We lost Syngenta. Footnote - In the West of Scotland it now has the same priority as the South Region Challenge Cup, the Strathclyde Cup and the West of Scotland League Cup. As voted for at the WoSFL AGM.
  20. By the way, that's me off again. Only came on to annoy certain folk. Task completed. Bye for now.
  21. Yawn! You went to all the bother of signing up and that's the best you can come up with as your first post. Keep trying, one day you'll be able to join the list of people that it's best to ignore.
  22. 115 an increase of 7. 15 byes to Round 2.
