  1. Did he ? My recollection was that the position was vacant due to Scott's resignation, and Kennie stood for election along with Robert Burns from Arthurlie.
  2. I don't recall many people standing against Scott, to be fair.
  3. I don't think Scott Robertson was ever the chair of the West Region or the WoSFL.
  4. We may as well not hold the vote at the AGM then, Vanderbilt has decided the outcome.
  5. Glencairn have confirmed the team captain Dom McLaughlin, long-serving midfielder Sean McGuire and left-sided defender/midfielder Mathew Meechan have all signed new contracts to stay with the club for season 2024-25.
  6. Murdie McKinnon's departure from Cumnock was announced less than 90 minutes after the announcement of Jamie McKim's departure from Johnstone Burgh.
  7. And still we battle on. Five wins on the bounce, six games undefeated, another clean sheet and we're now up to 2nd place. All we can do is put points on the board and see where we end up. We're very aware that winning all of our three remaining games might still not be enough, but we're giving it our best shot. We have no game next Saturday, so we can rest up and be hopefully quite fresh for the visit of Shotts Bon Accord, who have four scheduled matches to play (v Darvel, Petershill (or Pollok), Johnstone Burgh and Drumchapel United) between now and coming to Rutherglen, while we are resting. Hopefully that will work in our favour, but only time will tell.
  8. That's exactly the reason why the WoSFL changed its rules at last summer's AGM, in the event of the Premier champions winning promotion to the Lowland League and no team being relegated from the LL into the WoSFL. The previous rule was that the third bottom team in each league would be spared from relegation, but that changed to the fourth top team in the leagues below all being promoted, with the three teams being relegated being the certainty.
  9. Only once so far. It may happen again this year, time will tell. This is only the third full season of the WoSFL's existence. You make it sound like this is a recurring issue over decades.
  10. There is a well-publicised date for it opening up, i.e. after this year's AGM.
  11. I know, but what I'm saying is the test will come when a B team finishes top of the Lowland League and the LL then nominates a team for the play-off who haven't finished top of their league. Will the SPFL accept it ? Time will tell.
  12. To be fair it was clear from the outset point of the formation of the WoSFL that a Scottish FA Licence would be required for promotion to the Lowland League. That has always been set in stone.
  13. That has still to be tested as a B team hasn't won the Lowland League yet, so we don't know how the Scottish FA will react if a non-champion club were to be put forward for the Upper Pyramid Play-Off.
  14. I was down south visiting family today so wasn't at Brig O' Lea, but the updates coming to my phone were most enjoyable. A 3-0 win away from home against any team, regardless of their league position, is a good solid result. That's 13 points out of 15 for us now, and 10 out of 12 of those away from home. Add to that the fact that all of the other promotion contenders dropped points today, and suddenly we find ourselves in 3rd place, with 4 games left to play, all of them at home. We're going to need to win them all to still have a chance, but we have real momentum at the right time.
  15. We are delighted to announce that central defender Anthony Maguire has signed a 2-year contract extension and committed to the club until the summer of 2026. Ants was promoted from our Under 21s to the first team squad last season and is now a regular cornerstone of our defence.
  16. The WoSFL is based at Broadwood, but we're talking about the Scottish Junior Cup Final here which is nothing to do with the WoSFL.
