  1. A couple of questions for Urban123 You clearly have a few issues that you would like raise at Nitten, rather than rant on here the committee meet in the club committee room on a Tuesday at 7pm, perhaps you could go along and discuss your concerns? I'm sure they'd listen to you and possibly even invite you to join them to try and fixed them. The committee a few weeks back asked for help from the supporters / community to carry out a programme of remedial works at the stadium, did you offer any assitance ? The club hold it's AGM every May have you every attended one ? Do you ever attend the fundraising functions held in the social club ? Do you play the Star lotto ? There's plenty you could be doing to help the club. On the playing front I agree that something is not quite right and a few of the players aren't good enough. There was a few games last season that can be clearly identified with a lack of game management when in a winning position, that were lost causing a confidence issue during games. I fear more of the same this season if we lose a goal the confidence goes very quickly. On the youth front it would appear that attempts have been made to raise the profile of the club in the last 6 or 7 years but circumstances outwith the control of the club has meant unfortunately the club are behind others. The Star Academy was run independantly with agreements in place to formally merge in time, however the Academy folded at the beinging of the pandemic. The club entered a partnership with Lasswade Thistle about 18 months ago but again due to the pandemic this has proved difficult with Lasswade losing several of thier teams. The current under 20's mainly came from Lasswade and have had a few of those players train with and have been in the 1st team squad. Unfortunately the only team to survive from the Academy folded at the start of the season due to insuffient players at the under 17 age group and that was after winning a cup final at under 16's last season. IF you care about the direction of the club do the right thing speak to the committee and offer assitance
  2. It is with deep sadness that the club has heard that Former President Gordon Bennnett passed away suddenly in the early hours of January 1st 2019. Gordon served the club for many years and will be missed greatly by the Star family. Our condolences go to his family, friends and Star family at this sad time. Joe Wilson President
  3. It would be absolutely brilliant to have a 50 person committee , every club was issued with 10 Club Official tickets at the last EOS meeting so you clearly don't have a clue. Just to be factual and accurate our committee currently has 9 members who don't need idiots like you slating them by being a key board clown ! However, if you counted 85 and reckon 50 of those were from Newtongrange then as there were 8 committee present 42 paid to get in, bought raffles, spent money at the pie hut and in Camelon club. Good Luck to Dunipace in the next round and for the rest of the season.

  8. Terribly sad news tonight that former Star Match Secretary and Life Member Rob Clark has passed away after suffering a stroke yesterday. Rob gave many tireless years of service to the Club, also working as groundsman and kit man during his time and he continued to watch and support the team regularly despite having to step down from his role after an earlier stroke a few years ago. Our thoughts are with his family at this very sad time. RIP. Newtongrange Star FC
  9. Statement from Newtongrange Star Following the club's AGM on Sunday 8th May, Alan Miller, Ian Black and Finlay Wells have been relieved of their duties by the committee. 11. You are in: Scottish Junior Football Association > News and Events > SJFA News Scottish Junior Cup 3rd Round Draw Monday, 26 October 2015 The draw for the third round of the Scottish Junior Cup will take place in The Sun offices in Glasgow on Tuesday 3 October 2015 at 1.00pm Just copied this from SJFA website and as usual they can't get anything right, Next Tuesday is the 3rd of November !
  12. While the lack of sponsorship is a concern for all the clubs, why is the SJFA showing a complete lack of respect to the East ,Fife, Tayside and Northern regions in the fact that for the 3rd round in a row the draw is being held in the west. I can't remember where the 1st round was drawn, (think) 2nd was drawn in West region clubs social club ( and that's the correct way), 3rd round in the Sun office (national newspaper coverage to all regions) and now the 4th round to be drawn in a Regional newspaper office. While Nocko states it'll have a full page with pictures what good does that do the other regions. Come on Mr Johnston this is THE SCOTTISH CUP not the West of Scotland. Nothing against the west clubs issue with SJFA
  13. Big thanks to all the guys and Ladies at Fauldhouse this afternoon. Sterling effort to get the park in a good condition considering the amount of rain in the last 24 hours. Hospitality 1st class and your new club room is excellent well done. Good Luck for the rest of the season keep working hard and I think you'll avoid the relegation spots.
  14. The reports coming from the hospital are that Darren Gillon has a cracked shin and has been put in plaster.
