  1. Mathie will quite rightly get most of the criticism for the footballing side of things however Smith isn’t exempt. At the end of the day he is Mathie boss and is paying his wages. If he isn’t happy with his performance he should be addressing this. There is no doubt Smiths construction work off the park has been great and has pushed the club forward in that respect. There has been non Ayr United fans asking about the hub and the new stand. However he has proven himself to be quite thin skinned (Cammy Smith situation & Itzdrk getting Dmed after being critical of club). It seems there is a narrative at the club atm whereby if you criticise the club on any level you’re against them. That’s a culture that’s been created by Mathie and Smith and really needs changed. Mathie has been at Hibs and you’d think he’d be use to criticism on a bigger scale than what’s ever been received at Ayr United.
  2. If we’re sticking with the head coach model then they shouldn’t really be getting a say on transfers tbh. They should be able to bring in their own assistant though.
  3. Speak for yourself. I’d rather Brown. Much rather Bowyer mind.
  4. Has Davie White not said previously he’s got no interest in the job?
  5. If McCall does come in and I highly doubt he will I’d hope it’s just till the end of the season.
  6. Sacking Lee Bullen was the correct decision. It’s obviously all if, buts and maybes however had we kept him I’m confident we’d of finished at best 9th. We may well be making a mess of the recruitment process. There is obviously rumours about Bowyer turning us down and the fact it’s coming from more than one person suggests there probably is something in it however that doesn’t change the first point.
  7. Feel like pure shite, just want to know @No_Problemois safe
  8. I’ve heard similar about Bowyer but was told it was due to him wanting to bring in his own assistant and Smith not wanting to shell out on two wages. Smith wanting new guy to work with White/Tait.
  9. From a purely selfish pov I can’t make the game so want it off. Like you say it gives us extra time to get a new manager in. Realistically when are we expecting someone to be appointed, is it likely their first game will be against Queens Park at Hampden a week on Saturday? Motherwell are looking for a CEO. Fingers crossed he’s been busy interviewing for that.
  10. Gary Bowyer is the sensible choice however we’re Ayr fans and don’t get nice things so it won’t be him
  11. I’ll bring it back to the Super. I just went onto the McBookie odds and it’s saying the event is no longer avaliable. Is this normal?
  12. Let’s get this back onto the 1st page. Jack Young has returned to Wycombe from his loan at Ayr United
  13. Gary Bowyer is by a fair distance my 1st choice so would be delighted with that and fair play to the club if they pull it off.
  14. Whether the BGM patter was good is subjective however it can’t be classed as abuse.
  15. Just had a proper read at the statement from the club and it’s pretty wild. Very much adding fuel to the us vs them narrative. The article from Voice just reads as some devastated fan. With Bullen going this was a chance for the whole club and fan base to regroup and get behind a new appointment but having a go at your own fans in the statement isn’t a great look* *Just to be clear if Bullen has been subjected to any actual abuse then that is out of order and the responsible parties should be dealt with however there is a time and place to do it.
  16. Mulgrew may well turn out to be a good coach but far too much of a risk in our current predicament.
