  1. Heard we were supposed to be signing a striker yesterday but nothing about it on here. Anyone know what has/hasn't happened?
  2. Well last season you had Brechin to cushion you from that bottom experience!
  3. Bottom of the league! Come on Montrose, get a grip. We waited all this time for promotion, please don't let us down. No return into the abyss of Scottish League Two for the Mo.
  4. Mighty relieved to get that first league win. That helps after last Saturday's hiding. Wouldn't favour "the bunnet" over SP under any circumstances, so while humiliation isn't pleasant, we hopefully learn and move on, a game at a time.
  5. Bloo Toon maybe would... or one of the "ambitious" bank-rolled Highland League outfits
  6. The scene: some time in the early 1980's. The northbound platform of Montrose railway station. Opposite, a scruffy, ramshackle wood and brick station building with ticket office, waiting room, toilets, and other things I know nothing about. A dirty looking picket fence with slats missing, separating the platform from the drained mudflats of the basin behind it. The pungent, salty reek of the backies. Up ahead, the rusting cast-iron Hornby style bridge that offers up a reassuring clang with each footstep. Neglected planters with straggly once were roses "embellish" the dowdiness. Scanning south to Rossie Island, no train in sight, just a raw wind. All that's missing is dust and tumbleweed to complete the perfect picture of the happeningless wild east. Any more news on the transfer front?
  7. Hmm, let me have a think: punted from P. & B. League Two forum for a couple of weeks vs punted from SPFL League Two for how long? I know which I wouldn't like more. Are we waiting till after the Champs League final as the end of the season? IMO - Don't see any good reason for delaying, beyond a team being promoted or the final outcome of the playoffs being decided.
  8. Has the Montrose thread been punted? Can't see it here or on League 2 Forum. Hmm.
  9. I know it isn't Get tae Friockheim day yet but are any other Mo fans finding that after all these years in League 2 (formerly known as 3), it feels weird and even slightly illicit to be looking at another forum. I've just added SL1 and removed SL2 from "My News" on the BBC News app. I really find it hard to believe that we've finally got out of jail a.k.a. SL2. It's certainly taking a while for it to sink in. Having tasted freedom, I certainly hope we can stay out of there.
  10. We wouldn't say no to Boyler, if you'd still had him! ETA You did the same with Simon Murray, so a bit of pot calling kettle black tangerine there, (Although he wasn't a reject:just an ex-Arab.) We'd have him back too!
  11. Feel for you guys. We've been so lucky. 22 years - and the closest we've come to relegation was a playoff! (tongue very much in cheek) Hope 2018/19 is a better season for you and yes, I will be rueing my feeble attempt at wit, if we're in the same boat as you this time next year.
  12. Just googled John Rankin and from his Twitter pic. looks like he's channeling Clark Kent. Let's hope he reveals his other identity in a Mo shirt!
  13. From your location, we could have our own derby. I have the equipment, following Santa's last visit to Toys'rus in Udon Thani. ETA would obviously require a paint job though!
  14. Last time the Mo won the league, ('84-'85) I was in first year uni. at Aberdeen. A guy along the corridor in halls called Richard Clubb was an Albion fan. Richard, if you're still alive and reading this, all the best to your team in the playoffs. If any Albion fans know him, please pass on the message. Cheers. ETA - All this, assuming he has stayed loyal and not deserted to the glory-hunters.
  15. Pat Scullion's own goal put Peterhead ahead but the Blue Toon were pegged back by Gareth Rodger's strike for Edinburgh before Scott Brown got the hosts' winner. Brown (far right) got the winner at Station Park You guys playing at Forfar yesterday or yet more glaring incompetence from our sic. "national broadcaster"? According to one of the useless twosome on "Off the ball", Montrose grabbed a "last minute equaliser" and were very "lucky". No Stuart, football matches don't last 51 minutes and of course your belittling of Montrose's achievement, was not well received here. Would prefer better coverage but don't expect it any time soon from the "diddies" at Pacific Quay.
  16. Yes, and I've heard he wears that helmet thing just on the off chance it might burst a passing small child's balloon and make them cry!
  17. In all this, I am just wondering how a "minnow" nation such as Iceland, who t.b.h. were better known as a frozen foods chain, can develop football in a country less than 10% the size of Scotland, without an Old Firm to sustain their game. I am almost certain from the little I do know that Iceland's success of late is due to investment in sport at community level, not simply satisfying the whims of the "ugly sisters"...
