They are also only 6 points off of the relegation playoff place too, so in this crazy league I'm not sure your point about thier style of play working for them really holds water.

I think Airdrie should get thier groundsman to dig a hole in our pitch, surround it with mud, fill the hole with water, and claim the undersoil heating has failed. After all the team has a few injuries and has played quite a few games recently so would benefit from a weekends rest. Midweek rearranged games are also 'our thing' recently too.

Are you serious? Both sides were seriously rank rotten, just that Morton weren't quite as rank as Airdrie for the last 10 mins, and I can't believe I actually wasted an evening by watching it. The only slight glimmer of entertainment was watching Lyon's theatrical moaning every time a decision went against him. It's not over yet, but Morton will certainly be happy going into the second leg at home with a lead. Might give watching it a miss though, spending the evening clearing up the dog turds in the garden in pouring rain will probably be more enjoyable.

I've never exactly considered the average Dundee fan to be a brain surgeon, but it'd be remiss of me not to point out that, as it's a two legged affair, it will in fact be entirely possible for both clubs to lose.

Gonna back up the feeling that Sevco/Zombie Gers are not going to get their SFA license this weekend. Why? Well as football fans we all know that the decision is not about the SFA growing some balls, "sporting integrity"or even Green caving in and accepting the Oldco may have titled stripped (why that seems to bother him I've no idea). No, the decision will be made on superstition. In 2 hours or so I'll be heading to a remote area of the Scottish west coast, where phone signals will be patchy at best, TV is a no-no, even Radio Scotland 810MW will be like trying to listen to someone on the other side of the world through a barrage of interference, and "the internet" hasn't yet been invented! I find it difficult to believe that the majority of SPL chairmen, after how the fans feel has been made clear enough to them for them to refuse Rangers re-application to the SPL, would actually think that this kind of threat is acceptable. If so, then sod them all!

OK, on the face of it the plans outlined on the BBC web site largely make sense, with the one obvious exception being that of "relegating" a non-existent team from the SPL into Div1. At this stage no one, not even Charles Green, can categorically state that any club called "Rangers" will be able to fulfill football fixtures in any league that they may be in at the start of the season. "Rangers" don't currently have an SFA License! They may have just enough players left, but even some of those that turned up for training today don't actually have a contract with Rangers, Servco or anyone else. Then there's the question of commercial contracts with catering firms, match-day security, policing and all of the other stuff that need to go on when hosting a game (even in Div3). Is any of this in place yet? Where's the proof that "Rangers" have sufficient funds to not only pay the players they do have, but to also pay suppliers (who will obviously be very wary)? . Do they even have banking facilities yet? FFS, Livingston were dumped into the 3rd Division for being unable to convince the SFL that they could see out a season. I think few of us are convinced that Rangers as they are at the moment could even see out one game!!!! Edited to add- If the other clubs are daft enough to vote this through, then sorry, but I really hope it comes back to bite them on the arse and they are left looking very stupid!

Phah, easy enough to refute I'd think, especially as nobody actually knows how much a team would lose if Rangers aren't in the SPL. If questioned, a clubs directors could say "We estimated we'd lose £X due to Rangers not being in the SPL. We estimated we'd lose £Y from lower attendances due to our own fans disillusionment if Rangers were voted back in. Since £Y was greater than £X we decided to vote 'No'". Ravelin

Been a while but just had to pop back in to say, in regards to the 5 "NO" votes....about bloody time too!

I was just going to bring up the same subject, mainly because I was losing the will to live reading the last few pages! So tomorrow is the 1st of June, the Rangers players wages revert to their pre-cut levels or their get-out clauses kick in. It's been very quiet on whether anyone has agreed to cover the wages for the summer and at what level. Most of the players are probably sitting on beaches in various picturesque locations across the world right now, having jetted off as soon as the season ended. No doubt players agents have been busy, but if they have been then they've kept unusually quiet about it. What's the predictions, will we see the player exodus start tomorrow? Ravelin

From my reading of the situation, there's currently 3 secured creditors as follows with approximated values, The Scottish Sports Council £505,000 Premier Property Group Limited £103,000 (if their whole debt is secured) Close Leasing Limited £1,560,000 So were talking of in the region of £2.1M being removed from the £5M, leaving under £3m for the unsecured creditors, including HMRC & Ticketus (excluding the uncertain Collyer Bristows court case amount). Yeah but isn't that exactly what happened in the case of Livi. Livi couldn't guarantee they could fulfill all of their fixtures in Div1 for the coming season, nor were they able/willing to provide a financial security against doing so. As a result they were chucked down into Div3 on the basis that the financial consequencies of them going out of business mid-season were much smaller in Div3. Now you could argue the same should be applied to Rangers, but of course as we all know Rangers are a "special case". It's looking increasingly likely that Rangers could stumble along for longer than anyone thought initially possible before finally succumbing (a bit like our Libyan friend) . The closer they get to the start of the new season without the authorities saying enough is enough and making a decision, the worse the problems become. If they let them start the new season, and in the SPL, then the mess if they do then fold will just be farcical! Ravelin

Of course this line of thinking can equally work the other way......the creditors could be be thinking "hang on, why are they keeping the names secret, probably because they are worth X millions? We should be getting more than this 4p in the £ !!!" Of course if McCoist and/or Green also talk openly about renewing player contracts, new signings (assuming the ban is overturned/reduced), competing in Europe etc then if I was a creditor I'd be thinking..."Hmmmm, where's all this money going to come from to finance players, why isn't that going into the CVA pot to increase this insularity 4p in the £ offer instead?"
