  1. Police have been saying for months there would be loads of them in Niddrie on Bonfire Night. It gave neds plenty of opportunity to organise themselves to chuck fireworks at them. Doesn't look like the neds were fighting amongst themselves. Less overt policing next year would probably help.
  2. I expect some of the names mentioned might actually be quite good constituent MPs even if they vote for the most horrific policies imaginable. One name who definitely wasn't a good constituency MP and who voted for the most horrific policies is Nadine Dorries.
  3. The Glazers have been forcing Marcus Rashford to have a birthday party as well now
  4. Non league v league would be better than two clubs that play each other every week.
  5. Sturgeon is a lawyer so she would have known exactly the consequences of deleting the messages. So what must the messages have shown?
  6. Can see Antony being sold for £35m to a Saudi club in January.
  7. They BBC should (and will) pick either the Dunbar or Tranent matches. Dunfermline v Raith Rovers is the blandest tie imaginable.
  8. For me, it's the fact that some people think holding the opinion I have about what Israel is doing makes me scum. I just can't get me head round it. I use the fact I can't do anything about it (or any other upsetting world event) as a coping mechanism - it would be happening even if i wasn't here.
  9. Can't go to the Norway match any more so got one ticket if anyon wants it
  10. They should be used to having them in the Alba Party, shouldn't be an alien concept. The problems start when the combined vote share of Scotland United is less than 50%
  11. Celtic should grow a backbone and tell UEFA to f**k off. Waving Ukrainian flags was fine a few months ago. Why are Palestinian flags banned now.
  12. The readiness thermometer would have been going up around about today.
  13. Maybe the IDF could turn on the electricity in Gaza for a little bit so they could show the families of dead Palestinian children the photos of dead Israeli children. I'd imagine that would win hearts and minds in Gaza no problem.
  14. Demographics will put an end to the Israeli Paelstine conflict eventually. If it isn't happening already, perhaps the population of Israel (and Palestine) will become more atheist like much of the West. Opposition or support of Israel's claim to the land which they occupy might start to get flimsy when folk think the book in which that claim is in is no more than a fairy story. You can see this happen in NI where the opinions on Unionism v Nationalism are beginning to become less about Protestants v Catholics.
  15. I wonder if Baddiel just feels he has to double down on the 'criticising the Israeli government is antisemitism' because he is simply in too deep now. He accepts actions done by Israel that he'd write a comedy show about if the Tories had done them. Think this doubling down happens with prominent celebrity terfs as well.
  16. Looking forward to Sunak being asked about the by election losses by some reporter from ITV News whilst he's trying to look important in front of some middle East leader today.
  17. Baddiel's lack of self awareness with that one is rather hilarious. I have no doubt that if Baddiel lived in Israel he would be ripping the pish out the current Israeli government. As it is he's defending actions he simply wouldn't accept if the Tories were doing them.
  18. That might explain why I haven't had mine for tomorrow.
  19. I think it will at some point. Israeli politics doesn't happen in a vacuum and many of the same circumstances that gave Israel far right politicians occur in other countries. Many/most of Western Europe has unsavoury right wing politicians like Meloni, Le Pen, Orban, Braverman, Farage, Salvini etc. The reasons why that happens is to do with demographics, economic circumstances etc and results in pretty unsavoury nationalism. Within an Israeli context this results in hardline, suicidal treatment of Palestinians. The idea of Israel electing someone like Yitzak Rabin as president at the moment seems daft. In a few years those circumstances will be differerent and those right wing politicians will become unpopular again, due to issues outwith their control.
