I’m astounded by that assertion. Don't get me wrong, I wish it were true but it’s not. Labour will form the next government, and possibly the one after that, but then it will be a return to the Tories who will be even more right-wing than anything under May, Johnson or Sunak - probably more a Truss style Conservative Party.

If it’s true it’s indefensible. Not just from a moral or legal perspective but from the fact it would be impossible to hide and is therefore the height of stupidity. I’m assuming that contempt of court can only apply to those covered by the appropriate jurisdiction. So, for example, someone who is a resident abroad can say anything they want.

If Murrell is found guilty of embezzlement, and that’s a very big if, the impact on the Independence movement will be enormous. There will be some who will argue that it shouldn’t be, but it will.

For me McMann is up there with Sibbald as our best player over the course of the season. I hope he has what it takes to perform in the Premiership and should certainly be given that opportunity.
