Sliding into the Premiership
Granny Danger replied to Fletchers Saucy Manbun's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
On that basis you will never need to be upset and angry with your club. Unless you get relegated… -
If that guy was PM lots more folk would end up fucked. So no difference really…

Not sure working class kids doing their national service can really be seen as culprits tbh. As to your last point I’d agree that we are all still beneficiaries of the suppression of workers in foreign countries but the rulers of those countries are the oppressors. There are instances of mass action to combat suppression, the anti-apartheid movement being a good example, though undoubtedly not enough. -

So all of the actions relating to slavery and most relating to colonialism were prior to universal franchise. We should certainly not ignore Britain’s role in the slave trade, including Scotland’s role, but such actions were carried out by the ruling classes for the benefit of the ruling classes. Equally with colonialism most, though not all, decisions were taken by the ruling classes. I would also suggest that in the early days of wider voting rights in Britain the working class voters were far less informed than in subsequent decades. -

I agree that the club cannot just throw money at trying to stay up, particularly given the financial mess we are in. But there is targeted and judicious spending that can have a huge effect. For example had we brought in a decent keeper in the January transfer window in the 2022/23 season there’s a good chance we would not have been relegated. The cost of doing so would have outweighed the cost of relegation. It was glaringly obvious to the supporters that Birighitti was a disaster but the club failed to act. Which brings me on to another key point, we are sadly lacking people at the club with a knowledge of football. Having finally go rid of Ashgar, a total fraud of a man, Ogren has not brought it anyone with a footballing background who has any strategic oversight. -

I agree with this. What sort of timeframe are you referring to? -

I was only quoting this season as an example. Bottom line is if you finish second then that should be it. If at the start of the season terms knew that only second spot secured a play off then that might reduce meaningless games. The only beneficiaries are the second bottom team from the upper league. -

Not convinced about Moult at Premiership level and I’d be surprised if Cudjoe has what it takes at that level too. I’ve been impressed by Sam McLelland. Not a sniff until injuries forced Goodwin’s hand but has been impressive since being given the opportunity. Maybe a cheeky wee bid to the Perth club? -

Now we’ve effectively been promoted I can say this without being accused of having an agenda. The playoff format is a farce. It should be one up and one down, then second bottom against second top. As far as the Championship goes this season it’s even more of a farce given that Raith is so far ahead of their third place rivals. -
I think you’ve identified the issue.
-
What percentage would you suggest?
-
I will happily offer good odds against it if anyone’s interested…

Two changes, one forced (Tillson for Doc) and the second not (Thomson for Grimshaw) but still welcome. Same tactics as the last three games please.

Trump complains that the courtroom is cold. Man sets himself on fire outside courtroom. Can this really be a coincidence? -
