  1. It's difficult to tell with Mad Men. It's the only series I've ever gone back and watched again, and found out that all the clues for the entire series are in the first episode each time. So, I'm not sure what's going to happen in the end.
  2. First series. Ah, I wish I still had all that wonderfulness in front of me. You're in for treat after treat, as it just keeps on getting better.
  3. Ooft. Genuinly didn't see that coming.
  4. And he did the music for Denis The Menace on CBBC!
  5. Oh Don. That was the one person you couldn't let down! Man, she's going to go right off the rails now. Expect Sally to run away (as her friend did earlier in the season).
  6. I got all that. It just seems to all be coming out of nowhere. I'm giving Weiner the benefit of the doubt, and assuming all this sudden shit this season is to represent that everything is getting out of control for Don?
  7. That's just one of the things I'm talking about. WTF? And can someone explain the opening 20 seconds?
  8. I don't know how to do spoilers, so let's get this weeks episode watched quickly so that someone can explain WTF happened there to me.
  9. New to this forum. Aged 43, took up running two months ago, having never run in my life. On advice from Facebook friends (people you don't actually meet, but knew 15 years ago, in other words), bought myself a pair of running shoes and downloaded the Couch To 5K app. Running for half an hour, three times a week, and have got up to the stage where I can run for 25 minutes without stopping. This might sound like small potatoes to you lot, but it's a lot to me. The first run I did (minute running, minute walking, etc) knackered me and left me sore for a couple of days. Now I hardly even feel it. Loving it, and hope to continue. Looking to run a 5K sometime over the summer.
  10. Ever since Murdoch bought it I do everything I can to undermine his channels. Basically, Mad Men is never going to appear on my UK TV.
  11. Just watched tonight's episode... WTF is Don playing at? Dirty old b*****d. And now rejected as well. I've never seen Don beg a woman before. The dynamic between Don & Teddy is superb, and I can see it going on for quite a while. The plane journey was fantastic, and Don is in danger of not being top dog anymore...even in the bedroom. Merger going through, and everyone shitting themselves over keeping their job. Will Joan and Bob get together? Certainly, he's been hanging around in almost every scene, and I'm still not sure what his job is. After a poor start, it's getting good....
  12. Up to date now. It all happened in that last episode, but am I the only one who thinks they are not allowing things to grow slowly at the pace we all love. As far as I see, there have been no seeds planted in previous episodes about selling shares or Chevrolet. How did Joan, Pete & Burt get in a meeting without Don & Rodger? Surely one of them would have went to Don, Joan at the very least? The beauty of Mad Men has always been that things happen slowly, and they don't show you everything, treating the audience as smart enough to fill in the gaps. This series is in danger of letting the whole thing down. That said...I'm excited to see where this is going next. There's a reason that SCDP have lost Vicks, Jaguar & Heinz this season, and now Chevrolet are their only real big account. If it goes tits up, they are fucked. Which means it's going to go tits up.
  13. You don't get posts like that with "Made In Chelsea".
  14. Yes. Get downloading now. I can't remember when BBC stopped showing, but there's been divorce, marriage, prostitution and suicide recently.
  15. Up to episode four. Harry Crane is an interesting character. Not one of the partners likes him, but he was smart enough / lucky enough to take up the TV mantle early in the 1960's, and no-one realised how important that would be. They can't get rid of him now, so Joan better watch her back. Harry may yet turn out to be the rise to the top throughout the whole seven seasons that we thought Peggy was. Here's my predictions for the end of season seven: Someone's going out the window. I hope it's Pete, but I fear it's Don. Don's almost certainly going to be unmasked to the world as Dick, and get into trouble for desertion and fraud. Peggy is going to end the last episode of the last season by getting Don's job. Megan is going to leave Don. Don & Joan will get it together at some point and it will be a disaster for both. Roger is going to die. As is Cooper. Harry Crane will be a partner. A senior partner.
  16. Haven't watched the new series yet (downloading it and saving for a 24 hour viewing), but I suspect that Betty is attracted to kids cos she is one herself. At the start of series 5 she insisted on still seeing the child psychologist instead of the adult one recommended. That was very telling.
  17. All of those. You'll never hear Boney M again the same way after "Touching The Void".
  18. We should have a game of "Pointless" bingo.
  19. The A-Team, last night on Film Four. It came on, and my wife said "actually, it's not bad", so I gave it a go. She was wrong. Utter utter pish. Note to self: go with instinct every time.
  20. Why didn't any of the CIA people talk to the news-reporter / terrorist woman once they had caught her. Surely they would have? You know, just in case she knew anything?
  21. Oh, Rwanda. That's a good one. Pointless Richard is the brother of the bass player from Suede!
  22. Sorry, didn't realise it was your first go. No Nidd, then.
  23. Did Justin Lee Psycho not present this on TV?
  24. I think you'll find that under Thornton's controversial 3rd Amendment, abbreviations are not allowed. Unless you're playing Crockford's Official Gambling Version.
  25. There is nothing bad about Radio 4. Whatever you tune in to, it becomes interesting. Except Gardener's Questiontime. That's boring.
