Back In Black.  Wanted to go and see Civil War but, as is life, overruled by mrs biscuits.  Really enjoyed it - music was outstanding obviously.  The paparazzi are c***s.  8/10

I gave it 5/10 - and that was for the music.

It was like a monotonous,  sanitised Nancy & Sid.

  2. Quite funny on Michael Marra's Twitter feed where he tried to have a go about the event Yousaf was at today - and made an arse of himself- as usual.

He's forgets that the last time Labour ran Scotland they built a grand total of 6 houses in the whole of Scotland in one year and managed a whole 340 in their entire term.

Technically speaking, Yousaf doesn't have to resign if he loses the vote.  He can just say "f**k it" and go on.

Anas Sarwar has now lodged a motion of no confidence in the Scottish Government.  Douglas Ross' motion is in Yousaf himself so if Yousaf resigns then the motion will be dropped.

Unless he gets the backing of another party then that motion will fall - 25 MSPs needed and Labour only have 22 MSPs.

Labour are just playing games - I notice Rachel Reeves called for a Scottish Election knowing full well it won't happen.

Labour don't want it to happen and are being the usual duplicitous shitebags.

Will there even be a vote? You got to admire his brass neck if he does go to the floor as first minister knowing he’s relying on Ash Regan and the goodwill of the presiding officer sticking to convention to stay in place.
If he does win by one vote, what then? Does he expect to continue as a unelected First Minister for the next two years, knowing he’s just a falling out with Ash Regan or yet another SNP defection away from another vote of no confidence? It would be the Ash Regan parliament, with him in her back pocket at every turn. It’s impossible to run a credible administration like that.

His authority is gone regardless of this votes outcome. He should either resign and let the SNP try find a leader who the Greens will have confidence in, or go to the polls as FM himself and ask the Scottish public for a mandate.
However, given his clear delusion, I suspect he won’t do either of those things and he maybe even genuinely believes he can be FM for two more years and lead the SNP into a May 2026 Parliamentary election. Back in the real world, the chances of that happening are zero.

He should resign verbally but not formally go until a new FM has been elected by the SNP membership.

The notion that he could resign and Neil Gray steps in unelected is just nonsense.

I was thinking that - everyone assumes that all SNP MSPs will vote one way but will they?  Matheson's punishement is due to be decided next week - I have no idea if he could be suspended from Parliament for a period of time.  That could tip the balance.

I think you might be right, Yousaf might resign.

    Hopefully.

It should be a dream scenario, having a left leaning government, backed up by a green coalition and a partisan media keeping the whole thing in line.

The greens have just been fucking daft and the SNP have done nothing but been on the back foot since Sturgeon resigned. With any luck this will shake things up a bit and we can get back to grown up politics again.

Harvey said he'd resign if the party voted against the BHA. So he obviously didn't want to lose his ministerial allowance and was trying to sway his party. he was dumped and now just looks bitter and angry.

For the SNP maybe, certainly not for the likes of DRoss and Jabba Baillie.

SNP would only need Regan + one other to join to win, but assuming they didm't it's hard to see how the Tories or Labour could coalesce around each other in a GE year to kick the SNP out, and if they couldnt find one in the time required before an election were called? Would Labour necessarily want a Holyrood election now to be followed by the GE?

Unless they want Yousaf out and then abstain on his replacement.

I suspect a lot of SNP supporters would happily live with that.

Yeah, tend to agree. Obviously, it will depend on the number of constituency seats the SNP are expected to win in each region. Will need to consider polling nearer the time whether I go for both votes SNP or whether I vote for someone else on list.

Are you willing to have a charity bet that the SNP lose a VONC before a specific date?

It isn't a VoNC on the SNP but the FM.

Slater's certainly not holding back, but there's an obvious inconsistency here as well: if you feel you were "let down time and time again" by the SNP failing to hold up their end of the agreement, why did you still believe staying in government was the best course of action and how often would they have had to let you down to change that?

She's also forgotten that it was the SNP that prevented her getting sacked after her wee jaunt at the taxpayers' expense.

With friends like these who needs enemies. A shameful dumping of the gardening wing with not even a vote to make it look like a unified decision. Humza seems to have forgotten one chunk of his party runs seamlessly into green territory. Surely Forbes or the skull can't be too far away from putting Humza out his own misery

    Hopefully.

It'll be intriguing to see if the SNP can push anything through, such as the budget. They did pull it off in 2007, I guess, when they were the minority government. However, there seems to be much more animosity towards the SNP these days, so I doubt any party will lend a hand in passing the budget.

The other parties don't want an election either.

There will be compromises as ever - it's not as if there hasn't been minority administrations before.

Effie and Wings are certainly getting their knickers in a twist over it.

Some of the tweets are the usual shite about the Lord Advocate and the  Solicitor General despite the fact that all of Scotland’s prosecutors act independently of political interference. It is standard practice that any case regarding politicians is dealt with by prosecutors without the involvement of the Lord Advocate or Solicitor General.

As for those accusing Police Scotland of being corrupted by the SNP - that's on a level with the MI5 conspiracy theorists in the other camp.
