Genuinely think we could get a better striker for 750k.

Theres every chance rooney could be let go tbh. Stockley picked ahead of him for the big games and also now looks like maynard as well. If we do get moult & maloney then it would be safe to say him and storey would be the two to make way although a lot of fans would rather see stockley go. I definitely think 2 out of rooney,storey and stockley will leave this window and with rooney the higher earner and at the moment down the pecking order there could be some truth in this story.

Rooney is struggling with an injury and we only have maynard and Stockley so I'd imagine we wont let him go before next Thursday. We must be close to signing moult if we are letting storey go.

What an absolute nonsense. The boys goal scoring record in Scotland is well above average. Even in his loan spells at Alloa and Hamilton his record was superb. He done ok at Sheffield Wednesday and unfortunately not longer after he signed they got new owners and were buying strikers for millions of pounds but again its the English Championship and a lot of factors can work against your style of play down in that league as well. His injury at preston does sound very bad but by the sounds of it he worked back to fitness and finished the season looking sharp.

It was closer to the 800k mark I'm sure. Its the kind of player Aberdeen may be willing to spend a wee bit of cash on. Still young with lots of potential if he gets over this injury. As I said its all hearsay but its not totally ridiculous to think he could come in permanently however Grayson has been quoted as saying he would like him to come back next season fully fit with games under his belt.

His loan deal was only until January so not sure what a "no recall" clause would achieve in maddisons situation.

My mate played with May at Alloa and he still plays pro football with guys who are close with him. Could still be total rubbish but I don't think it would be a total shock for preston to let him leave and free up his wage if he wanted to move back north and settle again.

I'd like to know what is going with James Maddison. Unless Norwich are trying to sell him to someone and get some sort of fee(similar to wes burns at Bristol city) then I don't understand why he hasn't returned yet. If they had any intention of keeping him then surely he would have made the bench over the last few games. In particular the FA Cup game against Southampton when Neil named 4/5 youth team players in the squad with little to no first team experience. Something just doesn't seem right about Maddison and the fact we are now being linked with Commons and Christie who I would see as replacements for Maddison and not hayes or mcginn. The manager is looking for two new signings and I can only see maybe one more player leaving and that could be Storey on loan. Aberdeen wont deal with Cardiff any longer until they up the offer substantially but that's not say another championship side won't come in desperate for a winger last minute and throw a million pound plus at us. I believe derek is trying to get may in on 2/3 year deal rather than a loan but this is all dependent on Preston getting in another striker and whether or not they want to cut their losses. May is open to the permanent deal.

Absolutely brilliant two weeks for the Dons going in to the international break. I always felt they were all winnable and if we can continue this form by beating County ,Morton and Hamilton then the game against Celtic at Pittodrie looks very tasty. Time to look up the way rather than behind us now we have got in to 2nd place.

Heard a lot of names being linked with us today. James Maddison, Jamie Ness, Tony Andreu, Andrew Davies, Josh Meekings, Greg Tansey, Louis Thompson to name a few. If we can get two players in of this kind of standard I would be satisfied but I'm not sure all fans would be. How some people can call Marvin Johnson a potential marquee signing but Miles Storey a poor signing is beyond me.

From what I hear we are still in for Jamie Ness. He wants to come but Scunthorpe are looking for a fee. The manager was also down at Peterborough vs Norwich last night trying to thrash out a deal for a Norwich player who played last night. It is believed to be attacking midfielder James Maddison but rumours also it may have been Tony Andreu.

He was asking for 3k originally according to reports.

I don't believe Stewart is a player Aberdeen are looking at to be honest. It sounds like he's made his mind up that any move will be down south. If we thought there was a chance of Stewart coming in then I don't believe we would of signed Burns. Aberdeen are well covered in the attacking position and any money(if any) would be spent elsewhere.

Reading up on Bristol City forums there fans seem disappointed they have let him go. Many felt he could be a regular starter for them this season.

Wes Burns is a winger who can play up front if needed but his usual position is on the wing.

It's all went a bit quiet on the transfer front. With Cammy Smith(loan) and Willo Flood almost certainly joining Dundee Utd and the likelihood is Pawlett is leaving then surely we must have some replacements lined up. Hopefully our performance on Thursday has urged the manager to look for a couple of quality additions. Quite happy for us to bide our time to get the right players in before letting these guys leave but hopefully it doesn't hamper our Europa league progress by not having some quality new additions in place. I can only assume its players from England as they won't be long back in training.

Yes I travelled up to watch the game yesterday. Thought Brechin were solid and much improved on last year. Rooney started on the left with Stockley and Shankland up front. Shankland then switched with Rooney but you could see the game plan was to get shinnie, wright, logan bombing forward and to whip balls in to the three big physical strikers. Stockley looks like a right handful and very strong in the air. The new lad O'Connor came on in the second half and looked assured at the back and played some nice cross field passes but was never under any pressure. Joe Lewis looked solid with a couple of claimed crosses and starting play early with quick throw outs. Considering we were missing Hayes,Taylor,McGinn & Mclean it was a very solid performance. We have some great depth in the squad now with those 4 plus Storey to come in as well as the young lads who all looked of a good standard. Pawlett and cammy smith both looked sharp when coming on and I think wee cammy will do a great job for Dundee utd if that's where he ends up.

Through work commitments down there I saw Coventry many times this season and if Lee Clark manages to bring in Adam Armstrong on loan you will have one quality player. I have no doubt he will score goals up here and I'm actually surprised Newcastle aren't giving him a chance in the Championship. I would take him in Aberdeen's starting 11 no problem.

Paul McGinn is away from what I hear but no decision made on where to yet.

I believe Tansey is still a target but there may be better options out there that we don't need to pay a fee. It was only a rushed job as we weren't aware of his release clause until his agent approached us and advised us of the buy out clause. We then made an offer on the Saturday through the correct channels and didn't get a response from Inverness. The Kemar Roofe rumours is nonsense as he has plenty offers from top Championship Clubs. The lad has really improved this season and expect him to be sold on for no less than 1 million. Shay Logan may stay for one further year but if he is to stay it is likely to be a 3 year deal and he will be moving his family up to Aberdeen. He has potential offers from Wigan, Bolton, Oldham all around the area his family stay but I believe he would rather play his football at Aberdeen and have another shot at the Europa League and another trophy. I'm sure there will be other offers down south but he's happy here but would want his family to move up here and have the security of a 3 year contract or only stay one more year max. Its unlikely he would get any more than a 1 or 2 year deal down south. I know we have been speaking to the agent of Alex Schalk but he is keen on a move to England but currently has had no contact from any clubs down south. Hibs,Hearts & St Johnstone have also noted interest and Ross County have offered him a 2 or 3 year deal.

I wouldn't blame brown for the reason we aren't closer to celtic. There's no doubting though he isn't anywhere near the level of ward. I have saw Collin with this under 20s and he looks even worse. Lennox looks better than him by far.
