  1. Superb mate missed the betting this weekend but can’t say I spotted anything I’d have fancied. Hope it’s been a decent few weeks
  2. I know this cup has become a farce but it’s one I’d still love us to win any season. I wouldn’t knock any (competitive affiliated) cup we are in as trophy’s and Airdrie isn’t all that common sadly
  3. As for Pull My Strings you are right in a sense that we were far more patient than usual in our build up play. That was as simply because Dundee Utd sat deep second half and played on the break. You’re also criticising the 2 teams that have given you the harder games of the 4 played. Shite times wont go crazy in attack and let you carve them open for an easy 3 or 4 goal romp every week ain’t it. Most games we have played this season we have had some touch and go moments with the potential of losing goals at the back with our style of play and teams closing us down with a higher press (a tactic I’m all too happy with despite the odd shit yourself moment from us). What it did do was create space though for us in the middle of the park to exploit. Yesterday United were happy to give us 2/3 of the park and never pressed. They remained solid and resolute and that takes huge concentration and patience not to go charging in and break your formation. I dare say a strong tactic that Goodwin will drum in to his teams and one that will see you potentially concede very little throughout the season. Dunfermline were a defensive masterclass last season and I see you guys doing the same. I don’t want Dundee Utd fans taking this the wrong way as I think their tactics were spot on and they still created plenty chances and got the job done with little issue. I Just expected us to have our back against the wall yesterday having hee haw possession and having to defend deep. Yesterday I thought we would see very little of the ball and it felt beforehand like a cup tie in terms of club stature rather than a league game where we were up against a giant (in Scottish football terms). Maybe my fault for not knowing your style of play (if indeed it’s like that most weeks) but I think it will have been a frustrating one for yous yesterday despite the win. What it did do again is show what we’ve missed for years and I am glad we have yous in the league for big games like that. Terrible for you guys but was so much more happy it was yous and Partick last year and not County and say a St Johnstone. Edited to add i absolutely loved Tannadice and how compact it feels. Haven’t been for years and actually much preferred being behind the goals.
  4. I was initially very accepting of the patient approach as the way I saw it we are 1-0 down away to the likely champions who clearly have a budget that dwarfs ours and have conceded only once so far in the league. Realism was if we didn’t do anything daft and gave a huge push last 10 mins who knows and a draw would have been a fantastic result really. I did run out of patience though in the last 10 with our lack of urgency and I think Todorov only came on in 85th minute. A few times I have noticed there’s not enough players around Todorov gambling on him winning a header. We aren’t a tall physical side as Dundee Utd easily showed at their attacking set plays and I love our philosophy of playing but we need to mix it up better when Todorov is on. Get the wingers gambling on him flicking the ball on. The only thing that frustrates me is the use of our wingers at times. They have pace to burn O’Connor and McGregor but we often find them getting short passes and they have their back to goal. We know their strength is not taking players on. I think we need to utilise balls in behind more often where I believe we will see them at their best. O’Connor’s penalty he won against County and McGregors 1 on 1 yesterday the prime example. Harder yesterday with Dundee Utd sitting deeper and not pressing I fully get that. Still walked away very pleased and even although only 4 games in to the league campaign I feel we are capable of taking points off of any team in the league. Doing it is another thing but at this moment in time I don’t fear about relegation and I’m a pessimistic big shit.
  5. Three Races for me today. 1:50 - Amber Island 33/1 EW 2:05 - Perfect Play 5/1 (sorry Welshbairn) 2:25 - Nibras Angel 10/1 but also on Mysterious Love (Rossa Ryan) 50/1 to place Have a good day and good luck everyone. Good luck with your teams too Jagfox and Welshbairn just on our way up to Tannadice feels nice having hope and optimism
  6. Nice mate good luck I will get a look shortly and write my thoughts.
  7. Is there anyone who can shed some light on Cole Gibson and why he suddenly disappeared from the first time and subsequently let go. Thought he looked bright in last seasons league cup games.
  8. Never noticed the under 21s concession £55 still sounds rough but it’s again because of the kids prices being so high. £25 I don’t mind when it isn’t every week. The home fans should be feeling more aggrieved than anyone doing it 18 times minimum
  9. The £25 for an adult is very pricey but I could just about accept that. Today I realise for me and 2 boys (both 13) I’m expected to fork out £75. Can get that to f**k though. Surely it should be an under 16 gate at the very least.
  10. Pleased with the comeback and we ran out of steam in extra time. Ross County have the makings of a good side and I like a few of your players but Mackay’s tactics must absolutely scunner you guys. We shouldn’t have been allowed back into the tie but he insisted on slowing it down and offering nothing going forward. Was more interested in arguing with the 4th official all game. Good luck to you guys going forward but your manager is indeed a C**t Another game that highlights how pish the standard of refereeing in Scotland is too it’s most weeks this is happening to teams.
  11. If you coming off from the M80 put something like Petersburn Road into your satnav. Postcode can be ML68BH (primary school). There is a car park at that side and plenty streets to park in. Stadium is a few hundred yards further down. It should take you there avoiding Carlisle Road where all the roadworks are.
  12. Thought I had accidentally wandered back onto an old Falkirk match thread.
  13. Hey mate I enjoyed the game absolutely but was nerve shredding. How did you find it yesterday? I managed to back the winner yesterday in the offer race too but only positive in another pretty poor betting day. Congrats on Gweedore too that would be some buzz
  14. Am I the only 1 fearing the worst? I feel we are miles off where we need to be
  15. Haven’t seen an Airdrie one yet so wanted to give my thoughts. How will you do? I’m not overly optimistic when it comes to Airdrie but this season I do fear we are heading back down. We play great football and McCabe can’t be faulted for how he wants us to go about the game. I wouldn’t ever want to change that and could watch it season after season happily. Sadly I just don’t think our players are good enough to do that at this level without some seriously strong additions. I’m hoping Arbroath are garbage and Dundee Utd aren’t as good as the result from week 1 suggests but we will see. What was the best moment of last season? We handed out some absolute doings last season scoring 5, 6 and at one point 7. The obvious highlight would of course be promotion but the semi final first leg against Falkirk is something I will never get bored of seeing. The nerves going into that game was unreal and even in our best hopes no one saw that happening. What was the worst moment of last season? I think this will vary from fan to fan and the drubbings from Edinburgh will sting for a few. For me though it was easily the 4-3 defeat to Dunfermline. Every game we played was a tight affair and at 3-0 up we seemed destined to go on and win that game. Fast forward what 35 mins? and we had lost 4-3 putting in a scunnering display with Dunfermline showing why they would be runaway champions and Airdrie showing our all too often defensive frailties. If you were the owner of your club, what would you do? I still believe communication from the club has to improve but we have just got back to tier two of Scottish football after years of pish. They have to be credited for backing McCabe as that was a gamble a few raised their eyebrows at and I feel this year we have made positive steps. Just needs some signings now. Who would be your ideal shirt sponsor? I know clubs need the revenue but I’d rather a strip without sponsors
  16. Cheers, so do we I have only just realised how much I missed being hated by clubs that actually have a following. Don’t mean that harsh against those in the league below but can hardly call Edinburgh, Kelty, Peterhead or Alloa a game with needle. Whilst I hate a lot of the things fans have done over the years to be disliked I love games having that extra bit of aggro I am gonna feel dirty saying this but I enjoyed watching Thistle last year especially in the playoffs and after the full time whistle against County I really felt for the fans. I wouldn’t mind yous having a good season but as for Saturday let’s hope we smash the f**k out you (figuratively speaking on the park before anyone has a pop at the moustached element of our support).
  17. I thought the ref was garbage all round. No idea about the first yellow as I didn’t see it well from behind the goals. Second was as stick on a yellow as you will get. He gave a goal kick to us after the assistant signalling for offside at one point. He gave us soft fouls most of the first half then gave us hee haw in the second (you may disagree but that’s how I saw it) with one on Frizzel on the edge of the box then the penalty shout being two standouts. He wasn’t any better for Dunfermline at times too though. I like Dunfermline and like the gaffer as he seemed very respectful to us and I genuinely thought they were class last season despite our games being close. I want them to do well. The idea that we were these cheating divers today and Dunfermline are this stand up team though is absolute tinted specs pish from some very sensitive fans. We could have had a penalty for a handball, your keeper took an age every chance he got when down to 10 men, your striker couldn’t have been any slower going off after being substituted and and you had a few players go down soft too. Know what though that’s smart play and i expect my time to do the exact same thing in those positions. As I would any time a team is narrowly in front in a tight game. It will frustrate fans every week when you’re losing but never when your winning. The only incident I didn’t get was the one with keeper the way everyone was frantically waving and Hutton was getting stripped. That worries us in the stand at first. The handbags at the end was nothing. First half I thought was a good even game. We will look to play from the back and when we make poor decisions that is going to cost us in games as it could and probably should have today. We did create well and play well first half though. I thought it was a great advert for both teams. Second half we resorted to the long ball for most of it and it got us nowhere. Dunfermline deserving winners second half despite Gallagher blowing a guilt edge chance. As for us we are not good enough yet but hopefully we add some more faces soon. Defence are susceptible to a ball over the top, the midfield is lightweight although I can’t fault the effort from them (Dunfermline won most battles easily the second half), we have absolutely no idea how to play against 10 men. My biggest issue with us today though was the wide players. Just not good enough today. Both are quick and it’s great when the run in behind but they need to learn to take a man on and get a cross in the box. McGregor turning back the way in the second half was doing my tits in and O’Connor is a trier but I want to see him take responsibility by taking men on and trying to cross more. A frustrating second half especially the last 10 minutes against 10 men. Good luck though Dunfermline and a great goal to win it.
  18. I don’t know maybe it’s just me but for the teams coming up this year the jump from league 1 prices last season to the championship this season seems quite substantial. It’s going to cost roughly £10 extra most weeks for me and the wee mans tickets when compared to what we paid last season. Some clubs will be even more. I know it’s been many years since we last played in the second tier but was the jump always like that? I think the plan was for us to go to every ground at least once but Dundee Utd can get that to f**k
  19. Another win and Airdrie never really looked like having to step up their performance. Was glad O’Connor got to hit the penalty he will frustrate at times but the boy is a trier and for a loanee he still gives it everything I can’t fault that. Hopefully Todorov is ok can’t go back to relying just on Gallagher. That was like a proper junior ground that park is a disgrace not a flat bit on it. Really pleased with the results my only worry/issue is the draw for the next round looks so unappealing from an Airdrie perspective. Hopefully a chance to progress further but there isn’t a single team in the non seeded end of the draw that excites. Stirling hopefully for me.
  20. Same the Betfair one didn’t last long with me either. I also don’t get paddy power now either. So it’s onto Skybet and Virgin Bet. Same race. Virgin is money back as a free bet on all losers. I will keep it simple. Godolphin and Rossa for me. Good luck guys.
  21. So here’s a question for you all. Come the full time whistle on Saturday what is the best outcome? Do we want to be one of the 3 seeded teams to progress from the group stage? It could be a chance to progress a round further but could also leave us facing a tie against someone like Ayr, Partick, Livingston or Kilmarnock. Or would you rather take the plunge and be non seeded and get that potential money making tie in the next round That is assuming we do qualify
  22. All for watching you guys grow and best of luck want to see you so well but don’t put a snack van in the middle of the fans this season that was shocking trying to watch your end of season games last season.
  23. Anyone thinking about watching this don’t bother. James English is as well fucking off after the intro and leaving Goodwillie to spout his pish. He challenged nothing and just left David to it. My first and last podcast by this man no doubts. The absolute fucking Idiocy of English to say he would have Denise on to give her side and then said he would happily have her and David sit down together and chat. What an absolute tit. Why would anyone think that is a good thing for Denise to go through. As for Goodwillie to me he just seemed like a man intent on being the victim in all of this. He was actually very careful and calculated in saying Denise deserved justice and she is rite to feel how she does but never admitted wrong doing and then even dropped wee hints as to he knows why she pursued this and he couldn’t say why but then mentions things like her family, her background and her upbringing. He tried to cloud things without ever actually explaining anything. Doesn’t try to cover any of the evidence that was used in his case and as others have stated he appears to suggest he paid 100k out the sale of his house to the court but before it was awarded to Denise her lawyers fees were taken from that sum. I could say so much more on how this guy makes me feel so uneasy and he really did strike me as someone who thought they were untouchable and had no consideration of others. He seemed more irked that the rape scuppered his move and he didn’t get to play for Rangers. Words don’t do his scumbaggery justice. I didn’t read all of the evidence at the time mainly due to not having the ability to retain and understand a lot of it but the bits I did read (simplified in terms I could understand) was sickening and left no doubt to what he did. I thought the podcast would genuinely hold him to account and make him answer questions but naive on my part. I wish Goodwillie all the best with his mental health and I would never want his family dealing with his suicide but I can have no sympathy for the man what so ever. He chose to stay in the public light and the abuse he receives will never be comparable to what Denise has suffered and will continue to suffer every time this man’s name is mentioned.
