  1. Amongst the usual Blackbirds and Sparrows et al, we have a one legged Starling 'visiting' us. There's also a few Thrushes. The one legged Starling toerag seems to be coping pretty well, so good on him/her. Not sure how many Thrushes or pairs there are? When I was a young loon they were pretty much birds you saw every day. I'm gonna try to get a few photos but I'm pish poor with the camera/phone.
  2. We also got married in Fife (many moons ago). Nae snow or rain but the hotel that held the reception is now a supermarket and flats.
  3. just scoffed a McHardy's of Stonehaven Chicken and Mealie pie. Excellent, I should've bought 2.
  4. Tea (decaf), large mug, no milk, one sweetener. Again.
  5. Jerry Hall was aboard a Ferry many years ago. Let's stick together, things might work out OK?
  6. It's OK, not sure I would buy it again though..?
  7. They probably popped in to Pizza Express on the way back, as you do?
  8. Yes the book, I got it as a Christmas gift. Have yet to attempt any of the recipes but will have look at the Ruby and Biryani. Cheers.
  9. Sorry, not the best photo. Busy place and most are having the Naan Rolls. It was as you say fucking fantastic.
  10. We were at the Dishoom in Edinburgh this morning. As has been posted already on PnB, the Naan Roll (Bacon and Egg for me today) was fantastic.
  11. OMG. This takes me back a long time to my early days as an Apprentice collecting Pies, Bridies, Cakes etc from the Bakers which often included a Fleas Graveyard.. A Naples Tart was also often on the list.
  12. Tried a Stephen's 'Bridie' at a Dunfermline game a few years back. Rave reviews but nah, not for us. If you like a flaky pastry 'Bridie', Cameron's in Castle St Forfar is where to go. Real Bridies have shortcrust pastry. Tastier (IMHO), but also deliver a guarantee of Heartburn.
  13. Likewise. Mrs loves the theatre so I tag along to the Rep now and then. Seen some varied stuff but haven't seen anything I didn't enjoy. Really should go more often.
  14. Colombo Raincoat sales in Falkirk
  15. Is it because people in Perth are Forever in blue jeans?
  16. As mentioned earlier in the thread, a Tory neck of the wood. 'Advice on Tax Avoidance' (as the shop name maybe)? Just don't use 'Advice on Tax Evasion', totally different things apparently.
  17. That looks nice. We love Thai food. Mrs and I ate there a year or so before lockdown. Open Kitchen and as you say a nice view of Edinburgh. Enjoyed it but for us the food was nowhere as good as the Rama Thai in Dundee or Sida Thai in Stirling.
  18. Slightly off topic but we enjoyed many a really spicy Naga Curry from the Miraj at Davidson Mains. Crazy stuff, but we would actually make a detour just to get tasty spicy curry. Sadly our last visit (between lockdowns from memory?) was a big let down.. It's changed name and the reviews are in no way suggesting we should go back. Kinda typical of so many 'Indian' Takeaways.
