  1. It was the last part of the tweet that I'm worried about https://twitter.com/SwiftStephen2/status/1659812040758665216?t=MZqiRH2_U-v8dKDtIUgzhQ&s=08
  2. f**k Graham Diamond f**k Danny Lennon f**k Jim Duffy
  3. Congratulations to Annan. I hope they enjoy League One and offer much more to that league than Clyde did.
  4. In all seriousness, Sula and Thicot up front would be just as, if not more, effective that our current front line.
  5. That's seven of the current squad. Are Sula and McLean worthy of a new contract? Should Cuddihy now be considered injury prone? What have Grant and Duthie done to merit a new contract? Grant was poor at Alloa and was injured relatively early in the season. And Duthie hasn't impressed, albeit understandably, since his return. I agree with Mullen and Roberts but fear they'll have better offers from other teams. Most importantly, Duffy shouldn't be near our club past Friday night. He's done enough damage to next season's hopes by signing Rennie, Doherty and Haynes on 18 month contracts.
  6. Jim Duffy says we played well for 70 minutes. I think we disagree about the "playing well" threshold. This statement by Duffy sums up his management, outlook, style and ambition. I can't recall the Annan keeper making a save of any note in the entire match. Playing well? I'd be interested to see stats for the match.
  7. Doherty has one goal in 14 matches for Clyde. A scoring rate less than half of the infamous Robert Jones. Like Jones, I just don't see what he brings to the team. To be honest, Rennie hasn't been much better. And they're signed for next season
  8. Although we won the tie tonight I'm still raging with that performance. To be outplayed by a team finishing fourth in League Two is an indication of where we are and where we are about to end up. We have a striker, Doherty, who rarely scores, can't hold up the ball, can't header the ball and has no ability to run in behind. I genuinely think he offers less than Robert Jones (I can't believe I'd ever say that about a anything other than a more covered rock). That's quite a problem when we continually miss out the midfield with high balls aimed in his general direction only for him to immediately lose possession. And he's here next season too! The midfield, other than a five minute period towards the end of the first half, and for most of the season have zero ability to impose themselves on a full strength opposition. Only with the sending off did they start to dominate but along with the defenders moved the ball at a snails pace finally ending with an easily defended cross into the box. Finally, Jim Duffy, please just piss off. I don't think I could bear to watch such mind numbing football next season.
  9. We don't have the ability to be miles better. Without the sending off we would have been relegated tonight. I suspect Annan will need to be reduced to nine men for us to stand a chance. The save from Mullen was incredible. I was right in line with the cracking shot and watched it swerve and dip. Parry would've still been adjusting his feet as the ball hit the net. Commiserations to East Fife. Good footballing team that played football in a manner Dinosaur Duffy's teams never do.
  10. It could be worse. They could be pining for Barrowfield Park.
  11. What happens if the board is cleared out and there are no one ready to step in? What's the reason I believe there's no one waiting to step up? The fact no one has stepped up. The fact the board have stated on numerous occasions they are open to interested parties. If I recall correctly, did they not also state they'd even be prepared to consider changes to the ownership model if it facilitated investment. I've no idea why Homesbook are ending their sponsorship. Do you know? For all we know it may be more to due with the company's balancing it's own books than displeasure with the board/club. I'm not an apologist for the board. They've made many mistakes and they lack many things but I don't see any alternative at the moment. Someone has to run the club. Unfortunately we have the best of a non existent bunch doing it.
  12. We can complain again and again but there's no one waiting to take over. I've asked many times what the alternative is to the current board is. I've never seen a reply that answers the question other than vague statements about getting investment or making better decisions. There's no rich benefactor desperate to spaff their wealth against the wall. Nor are there talented specialised volunteers with expertise in marketing, financial ingenuity or a huge black book of contacts having their emails ignored by the current board. It's shit but that's the truth.
  13. We're in exactly the correct league position as we deserve. It's incredible there is actually a team below us in the league. I'll be astounded if we don't have one of the lowest points total of any team not automatically relegated from League One. All the teams above us have beaten us. We've won four (4) games out of thirty five (35). For what it's worth, I see a couple of reasons we won't get through the playoffs. The playing squad for example. Another, the manager. Other than those, we should be fine.
  14. Disappointed to lose the game today to an injury time goal. I thought we were excellent defensively. Dunfermline hardly had a shot on target out with their goals. And credit where credit is due. I've been very critical of Docherty recently. I thought he was impressive today.
  15. I like your optimism but I just don't see where is coming from. This squad may be capable of scraping 0-0 or the odd 1-1 but winning two ties, I'm not so sure. Hopefully I'm wrong
  16. Personally, Roberts for poty by a distance. In my opinion he's been heads and shoulders above any other Clyde player.
  17. Hopefully we release the footage of Edinburgh's goal yesterday. Was it really a "good" goal or were we all correct in thinking it was offside.
  18. We should look back to when Edinburgh City etc were heralded as replacing the "dead wood" teams like East Stirlingshire or Berwick Rangers. I can never remember these so called dead wood teams bringing so few supporters as Edinburgh did yesterday. We should note Edinburgh must be in their highest league position in their existence and still only bring almost single figure away support. If I recall correctly they didn't bring much more to Broadwood for the play offs.
  19. Someone needs to explain to Jim Duffy it's three times as many points for a win as it is for a draw.
  20. When can we talk about Kyle Doherty? I see a player that can't hold the ball up, can't beat a man, doesn't win high balls and doesn't get into threatening positions. Admittedly he is provided with little of any quality from his team mates He's signed for next season too Time for Martin Rennie to play through the middle?
  21. I've just had a look at the table for the owners' MotM points for the season so far. Three of the top four no longer play for Clyde. Rico Quitongo has more points after two appearances than Euan Cameron after eighteen.
  22. I wonder how the supporters who looked to Open Goal Broomhill as an example of a well run aspirational club playing at Broadwood are feeling tonight. I wonder where they'll be in a years time?
