  1. Everyone agrees that centre half position was a problem that should be urgently dealt with. Ferguson signs a centre half. Clyde supporters complain. Jings!
  2. Agreed. He did lack in technical ability but he always had an influence on the game. The season with McQueen at centre half, both of them were fantastic. I don't know why it didn't work out there after Barry arrived. I'm sorry that both are gone.
  3. I'd be interested in others opinion of what's wrong with our defending? Is it personnel, the way we set up, a combination of both or maybe something else? I think the centre halves are a problem as well as the full backs being very offensive. Maybe leaking goals is a price worth paying for an attacking, entertaining team.
  4. Has there been any word on Jordan's injury? Also Barry was quoted saying that Phil Johnston was not fully fit last Saturday. Lack of width and pace may be a problem for the Cowdenbeath game of these two are missing.
  5. I've supported Clyde at Shawfield, Firhill, Douglas Park and Cumbernauld. The reason? I support Clyde, not the town. Can you tell me what loyalty or support Celtic have shown to Cumbernauld to give them your support?
  6. Is it not the case that, because of year long contracts regularly given out in this league, most teams chop and change squads? I'm optimistic this season. I think we'll win the league and I'm currently enjoying the style of our play as well. I can't remember the last time both these coincided.
  7. If after 20 odd years in Cumbernauld, the residents don't realise and appreciate having a senior team in their town I doubt will change over the next 20. This period included our premier league promotion push and our greatest cup upset for decades. Although moving would probably be more convenient for me personally, I would be happy to be wrong.
  8. Like you, I would rather be based elsewhere but I agree that we should give Cumbernauld a last try. 5 years seems more than long enough to see if the town will get behind the team.
  9. I wonder what the new excuse for not going to games will be. Chairman? Ferguson? The blue away strip?
  10. Make our break for Barry this year. Not only do I hope we get out of this league but do so with good football. Early signs look promising. Hopefully, QP pass us on the way down along with Albion Rovers.
  11. Congratulations SPFL. You've turned this cup into an under 20s tournament. I'm sure the sponsors will be chuffed.
  12. Why would / should we play our u20s? This is one of only 3 national cups (it's international in fact). We are already out of one cup. We did not play yesterday, the players are at the start of the season and no doubt still trying to get match ready. Why take the chance of being knocked out? Against Thistle? No thanks.
  13. If that's the rules, so be it. It's a price I would be happy to pay for a better atmosphere every home game rather that having a backdrop of thousands of empty seats that have not been used for 3 years and many years before that. It is all about opinions and I'll never fall out with any Clyde supporter about this as we all want the best for the club. Hopefully, we'll all support the club wherever they may play.
  14. I would rather sit in a stadium that was compact and almost full every second week rather than a quarter or less full stadium with the hope of drawing a "big team" in the cup every couple of years. As has been said, move to a larger stadium as Albion Rovers do if that happens. It should should not be forgotten that atmosphere is really important in regard to enjoyment of football. Why would you prefer to watch it in an empty stadium? In my opinion, amongst other reasons, that's why we need out of Broadwood.
  15. These games were merely okay for atmosphere but would have been better in a more compact stadium. Also, outwith exceptional occurrences like cup finals, when was the last time the Clyde support at a match exceeded 2000?
  16. Why not? Forthbank is a lovely wee stadium. It always seems to have an atmosphere when Clyde visit, unlike Broadwood which lacks any at any time. I would be happy with an even smaller stadium like Galabank. Big enough for our current support and can be expanded when required. Some Clyde supporters seem to think we are a Premiership team with the potential to have 6000 crowds. Both will never happen. History tells us that. We should be looking for a stadium to house a couple of thousand at the absolute most.
  17. I assume (perhaps wrongly) that there would be granted financial assistance with clearance of contamination. And perhaps the land would be at a knockdown price as per Glasgow city council's generosity to Celtic on the other side of the river [emoji57] Note: Shawfield was/is not suitable for watching football.
  18. Could the stadium be the Glasgow National Hockey Centre in Glasgow green? It's not far from Shawfield and handy for the city.
  19. It looks to me as a simple supporter that someone is out to cause trouble for the board. Perhaps the rebels were scared of good news in the future and see the leak as a way to cause disruption. I wish the rebels would b***er off as they seem to have an agenda based on self interest rather than that of the club.. Raising the Glencairn issue after the AGM showed this

  21. I thought it was an attempt to build up the tension.
  22. We should sign him. He's great fun. He made a complete tool of himself. Most I've laughed at a game for a good while [emoji2]
  23. I'm probably one of Gormley's biggest critics but I thought he played very well today. Easton has to learn that sometimes laying it off first time is better. He seems to hold on to it ALL the time. Today he lost possession a lot. I used to play fives with a guy that did that. Hated being in his team. Goal lost was dreadful defending and we were Lucky not to lose a couple more due to similar defensive lapses. Enjoyed the game though. Also Barry has to resist the temptation to react to the crowd. The comment he responded to was nothing.
  24. Totally agree. Watson, as well as having pace, has a busyness about him. He's better at closing down, can get in behind defences as well as running channels. I also think he is also a greater goal threat than Higgins and Gormley combined. Then again, who isn't.
