  1. Going to see The Cult at the Barras. Not seen them in ages but they're marketing it as "Death Cult" and the set will cover material from Southern Death Cult, Death Cult, Dreamtime and Love. Some of that material hasn't been played in decades so definitely looking forward to hearing stuff like God's Zoo and Moya.
  2. Hardcore legend from the wrestling world Terry Funk away. Only 79 but had been suffering from dementia in recent years.
  3. Clocked this void unit in Douglas earlier.
  4. They're putting out a 7" of Perhaps too. The draw of that to me is the b-side. A tune called The General which has grown to a somewhat mythical status amongst hardcore Guns fans. Bar a poor quality clip that someone recorded on their phone at some club back in 2010 (Axl turned up and played a load of unreleased material), it's never properly leaked. Had elements of Estranged but with an almost Sabbath sounding riff and Axl screaming super high over it. Load of orchestration on top too. Even though he's hit and miss live at this point (He was unreal with AC/DC but never been the same since), it's just nice to hear more material from them. Given how long the band has been about (taking into account the various incarnations), they still have a comparatively small catalogue.
  5. Also, Slash pretty much playing the riff from Country House in the verse
  6. Oddly, I prefer the original versions of those ones from before Saul & Mick returned to the fold. In it's previous guise as Silkworms, Absurd was like Axl doing the Prodigy. All mad synths and such. The official version isn't great but it seems to actually go down pretty well live. Perhaps is just Axl doing his Elton thing.
  7. Not really "new" as such, given the tune has been around since the turn of the millennium in some form. Still nice to hear them actually put stuff out though. Slash's solo a bit "meh" compared to the original by Robin Finck but it works fine. They're putting it out on 7" with The General (one of the long awaited "Big Guns") as the b-side. May have to order.
  8. The role of "Charlie" in Casualty has actually been played by 17 separate actors over the years. There has been a revolving door for the role since late 1987, when the original actor in the role spontaneously combusted whilst scuba diving in Lake Windermere. An advanced prosthetics team have been part of the crew ever since, to ensure continuity. Such was the casting turnover in 1997, over the month of May the role of Charlie was portrayed by Gary McSwegan, Jerry 'The King' Lawler and Wolf from Gladiators respectively.
  9. Blusher was invented by a Mr Billy Shanpus of Tranent.
  10. Us lot making a racket down Seagate a few months back.
  11. The song called "Perhaps". It's an (as of yet unofficially) unreleased tune from the Chinese Democracy era. A version of it leaked a few years back. It seems that an updated version featuring the current lineup is likely to be released soon, hence them rehearsing it.
  12. See Perhaps was soundchecked again but not played. Can't be far away from release now. Solo in it a bit underwhelming though.
  13. Tremendous show. Alexander The Great and Hell On Earth particular highlights for me. Does seem that they've brought the tempo down slightly on some stuff but that's understandable at this point, especially considering Nick is in his 70s. Bruce still an unreal vocalist. Must take some amount of prep to be in the shape go out and deliver like that every other night. Same with 'Arry galloping away constantly, running around and machine gunning with his bass. Caught maybe the last 20 mins of the opener and whilst I'd admittedly never heard of them, it was solid euro metal. The singer boy using "Scream for me" a few times was a bit odd though. Blatant gimmick infringement
  14. What year? I've got an 09 plate. Usually get stuff from Euro Car Parts who are generally quite reliable. Have picked up a few bits & pieces from the scrappy also.
  15. Thankfully not seen that. Also, boy on the B&Q ads that pop up on Youtube. Does that whispery thing but still talking at normal volume, as if he's letting you in on a secret or something. Absolute supper.
  16. The needless enthusiasm of the wifey who does the Jet2 adverts on the radio.
  17. I'd figure that anything of that ilk which is out there comes from back in the day when keeping exotic pets was popular amongst rich types. Changes to legislation and just the hassle associated with taking care with such a thing led to a load of them just being punted into the wild decades back. Probably more around than you'd think but they're generally that stealthy that you really don't see them much at all. They'd most likely be well out of the way before you ever got near them.
  18. Just this evening spoken to someone who lived on this road and also saw one with the same description 2.5 miles away from where my sighting was, maybe a year or two prior. Also a very recent and again similar sighting from the other day, just about 10 mins further east, on the other side of the A90.
  19. Had another "big cat" sighting the other weekend. Heading North towards the Tay Road Bridge on the A92. Big dark coloured thing running across the field to the left near St Fort. Had someone else in the motor who also saw it and said it was a cat. Spun round the Five Roads Roundabout and went back for another look but was away. Would love to get a closer look but they're elusive buggers. Was in the middle of the afternoon too which seemed unusual as I think they tend to be most active at dawn and dusk.
  20. Maiden set from the first show of the Future Past tour. OOFT! Good few that haven't been played in decades and the big guns from Senjutsu.
