  1. I hear you. I was saying over a month ago, that I was anxious about this fixture because I thought it might have relegation relevance. The gap is still quite big though, and I suspect we'll creep to safety. The very fact that we're discussing our safety prospects in this division, however, is awful enough for me.
  2. I think we probably are. Don't read it as any kind of endorsement or vote of confidence, but I think the balance of probabilities sees Annan failing to close the gap. The very fact that it's possible they might - thereby plunging us to 9th - however, is indictment enough on our manager and season.
  3. Ach, another 'nothing much' game, that on this occasion, we looked like winning for a bit. But we didn't. We weren't dreadful, without being very good. At 4.45 we looked likely to be 10 clear of Annan and above Stirling. Instead, we're still behind Stirling, with Annan just 7 adrift. A great point for them today. Can we finally now, do you think, ditch the pretence that we're looking upwards?
  4. Does he not mean it'll be his second trip to Palmerston this season for successive QoS v Stirling fixtures? If not, he should be waterboarded forthwith, with your example not even covering the extent of the offence. Stirling is literally half as far from Alloa as is Dumfries from Annan. It would be more like implying that Stirling and Cumbernauld are effectively the same place.
  5. That sounds misleading. Does it include a decent December that featured 10 points out of 12 at one point? Even then, 4th should be the least of our expectations. Getting there over a handful of games, doesn't disguise that we're 8th in terms of all the matches played so far. You also need to factor in how God awful we are to watch. In January, we had back to back fixtures in which we literally failed to register a shot on target. More recently, believe me, there is little that's misplaced about our unrelenting negativity. We continue to have a hopeless home record, as well as the distinction of allowing Edinburgh's Youth Team a point.
  6. Yip, invariably my favourite football fix of the week. It's always more enjoyable than any live football I watch on a Saturday.
  7. Did he definitely say "promotion"? I'm worried that he maybe just promised to get us out of this division.
  8. That's a remarkable record, especially for a side doing so well. I think you've already won 15 league games. For every single one of them to have been by a single goal must be very unusual.
  9. I think the save looked cool because the ball spun up over the bar, Gordon Banks style. The header was right at him though and would have required a bad goalkeeping error for it to end up in the net.
  10. Please, feel free to show as much disrespect as you wish. Most of us hold our team in utter contempt, so we cannot be offended by such stuff.
  11. I always see Ayr and Raith as similar in size to us. Falkirk are significantly bigger than that. I love what Ayr are doing with that side of the ground. There's no reason why redevelopment must only involve seating.
  12. Yes, I'd agree with that. I'm pretty content with the entire 'experience' simply involving watching a football match in decent surroundings though.
  13. That's absolutely the case and it endured well into the 80s.
  14. Match day experience!!! Heaven help us. Just have a couple of pints and go to the match. What sort of pervert wants to experience anything other than watching a decent game, that your team might win?
  15. In that time frame, the club made tremendous progress which was sustained for quite a while. It's daft to pretend otherwise. Of course I wouldn't object to excellent types coming from further afield. However, I'd really wonder what the appeal was. Nobody is going to make money by ploughing some into Queens unless looking to do a property deal. I'd also think a Labour of love is less likely without an existing bond.
  16. Who now takes over is so important. What happens next could be absolutely tremendous and it could be utterly calamitous, as well as all points in between. It might be exciting, but caution here is appropriate. Clubs have fallen into the hands of chancers before and it's vital that this board's successors get properly scrutinised regarding their credentials and intentions. I think I'd find local interest more reassuring.
  17. Mainly the words "professionalism" and " gameplan" I'd have thought.
  18. That's pretty much what I thought. They've declared themselves to be open to offers before. This announcement feels different though. But to be honest, I'm really not sure. I don't know enough to have very full confidence in either reading.
  19. It begs the question as to whether this "new board" has been lined up.
  20. I think it's definitely happening, yes. Quite what it means though, who knows?
