  1. The Coefficient Wankers trying to dent an otherwise joyous evening I see.
  2. That's a relief. I couldn't give a shit which of the sister clubs wins the league, but a European trophy for either would be hard to stomach. Nice to be able to relax again.
  3. "There is only so much I can do" is a great line for a guy taking full responsibility.
  4. Looking at the fixtures, I think there's a pretty decent chance we're getting nothing from our next 3 games. If Annan and the other troubled sides get anything over that spell, then the danger becomes severe as we enter the last few matches. If Annan get any closer to us at all over the next 7 games, which hardly requires an imaginative leap, then it potentially goes to the final league game. That's not a jolly thought for any Queens fan.
  5. Yip, we're clearly strong favourites for Saturday.
  6. Heading that way myself and dreaming of little else. Not there for a bit yet though. I'm just chronically jealous really.
  7. Look forward surely, from the post being replied to?
  8. It did require our goalkeeper to be carried off in the days before subs, never mind sub keepers. It also involved a Spurs bound Scotland striker running riot. If it, or anything like it happened again soon, it would be a Hell of a lot worse. Edited to note that everyone has already said all of the above. I hate when that happens. Don't you people have to go to work?
  9. You did. It wasn't so much cowardice. It was just that the riposte of "you'll soon be joining us" would have been too available. I felt pretty sure that we would be too. The fun could only really begin when we'd scrambled clear. It was just a stay of execution though, a stay further prolonged by covid, but the inevitable duly arrived. Our latest pishness is of an entirely different order though. If Falkirk are remotely in the mood on Saturday, they'll absolutely hammer us with ease.
  10. Ach, most of you treated it with suitable disdain. There were always some dafties who made such outings rewarding though.
  11. No sacking today then? Looks like he's here for the duration, wherever he might take us. Bit depressing.
  12. You called? Yeah, there was lots of sport to be had with you chaps that season, but our own involvement in the play-offs put the hilarity on hold for a while. As for us, we absolutely deserve all manner of slagging for where we are. We've been comically bad for a sustained spell. I don't think we're generally hubristic enough for it to have that much cast-up value, but still, we'll take on the chin any resulting schadenfreude.
  13. Don't say that. The poor guy will attempt to stay up for 72 hours if we've still heard nothing.
  14. I don't have much of a problem with him doing media work. However, many of us were pissed off a few weeks ago when he was on Sportsound. He was asked about his football weekend, and was haughtily dismissive of our latest defeat, but delighted that Arsenal had beaten Liverpool. That was pretty galling, right enough. For now, I'm content with how ridiculous his pontificating looks.
  15. Maybe they didn't want to announce his sacking just before he went on telly. Instead, the announcement will be tomorrow. That's the theory I'm increasingly desperately clinging to.
  16. I understand the question, but even if Bartley's still in charge, I'd definitely want the point given our immediate predicament. In fact, I'd even take a narrow defeat over a hammering because goal difference might matter. I don't think he'll get sacked on the back of a Falkirk result if he survives yesterday.
  17. I really think he might this time. Yesterday was always likely to be a test. He failed it and I think his time could be up. Maybe not, but I can definitely see it this time.
  18. How many times does he say "just head the ball away"? It's brainless and dishonest. He always makes out opposition goals are isolated Acts of God. The fact is that during the first half Annan were getting lots of joy down our right hand side. Loads of crosses came in. Similarly, in the second half, Annan forced plenty corners and usually had decent delivery. In the main, our defenders dealt reasonably well with them, but the fact is that when midfield is surrendered each week, sides get on top of you and come at you. Bartley likes to ignore the flow of the game though, reducing it all to individual events. He also gave it the usual about how hard he and his staff work, but to no avail. It's laughable that he's talking about simplifying things while saying he was physically moving them round the field in training. He thinks football is a static game, played only at either end of the pitch. He's a balloon and I can actually see him being let go of this time. We'll see.
  19. If Bartley goes, you'd imagine we'd be very unlikely to go with another rookie. We were all pleased last time that we didn't just pluck someone from that merry-go-round we keep hearing of. That's bound to be where we look this time though. That's not the cheeriest thought either, but it would probably make sense, so long as we don't go near Hughes.
  20. There is nothing to base such speculation on. Poor stuff.
  21. I said a couple of weeks ago that the only way I could see him getting sacked would be if we lost our next two matches, against Stirling and Annan. Well we didn't quite lose both, but one point is a lousy return, especially when that point didn't come against the club we really could not afford to lose to. Hanging onto him is looking ever more risky.
  22. Was Stone not badly at fault for Annan's second goal?
