I hope Morton and Killie are letting us play King and Leslie. I don’t think the latter is likely to feature for Killie in the cup when he goes back to them in January, but the former may well be in Morton’s plans.

I remember at the fans meeting just after we appointed Duffy last season, GT mentioned they’d interviewed a “young and upcoming manager”, and my first thought at the time was Ferry. He may well be interested but he should be absolutely nowhere near consideration.

Now that we have the financial backing, there’s no excuse for going for someone currently in the Lowland League or below. Jack Ross and Scott Brown are clearly both mental shouts but I don’t see why we can’t go for some of the other names mentioned who you wouldn’t normally consider as being willing to drop down to League 2. I’ve no doubt Jack Ross will have enjoyed his time at Clyde as a player, but the idea that he’s sitting down in Newcastle misty eyed about our current position and would want to help us out is absolutely insane.

They’re saying now there’s 50 available on Fanbase (as of 2m ago) but I’m not even getting an option for the Clyde game.

If you check the Clyde thread a week before the game, there will be a queue of folk paying you to take theirs.

The board should put their money where their mouth is and get someone who is half decent and experienced. There really isn’t any excuse now we have the financial backing. We were in this position before with Jim Chapman and managed to make a decent appointment which brought us a relative amount of success. The “there’s no-one out there” patter just doesn’t wash anymore.

The Pixellot camera didn’t pick up the first goal and the guy who normally films the game wasn’t there, so we’ll never know if the 1st was offside. I had a good view of the penalty as I was coming back from the toilet and have no complaints about the decision. They seemed important talking points at half time but less so now, we were so comprehensively beaten it’s pointless talking about it. At least the new scarfs are nice.

I’m sure Dumbarton fans of all people will understand if we just call it off at 2.45pm.

Getting any sort of win is a great feeling, but we don’t half make it hard for ourselves. Felt like we fell off a cliff after the 2nd goal - we were brilliant up until then and that needs to be the standard going forward. Leslie and King should be cheat codes at this level albeit the latter jaded as the game went on I felt. What a ping for his goal, though. It’d be ideal if we can keep them beyond January, but we’ll have won the league by then so who cares. Really impressed with Connor Young, as well.

I don’t think I’m being hyperbolic when I say this is the worst game in history.

I realise shit like that and worse probably happens all the time, but missing out on a signing target because he didn’t want to pay tax on his wages really reinforces how tinpot the level we’re operating at is.

I can only assume it’s been all hands on deck tonight getting the paperwork signed on time and the announcements will be made tomorrow.
