  1. Quite good misery standing at Dumbarton East after the game and the sun was splitting the sky with no wind whatsoever.
  2. Congrats to Stenny. Their fans on here are a great bunch of lads and Ochilview is one of the most underrated away days in the entire country.
  3. Not over the line yet, but leapfrogging those c***s is very pleasing.
  4. Couldn’t care less what they’re called. However, poindexters coming on this thread and constantly correcting people for referring to the SPFL as the only senior league set up when they know fine well what they mean is just getting somewhat tedious.
  5. I think Peterhead and Spartans might have something to say about that.
  6. There is not a single person on the planet that would simply “walk away and report it to the officials” after being spat on. Genuinely baffles me that the tube that videoed it and posted it on social media, clearly done with the intention of getting Scullion flung under the bus, never thought to crop the video so him being spat on first wasn’t included. As I was leaving the ground, I saw what appeared to be a Bonnyrigg official having a right go at Gordon Thomson- I had no idea that the incident had taken place at that point so wasn’t sure what it was about, but I’m assuming it was about this. Scullion will be dealt with internally and by the SFA, but I think the Bonnyrigg official is going to feel very silly this morning,
  7. Would it? I can’t see many Chairmen in L2 or L1 losing sleep over it. It’s a mess of our own doing and one that was completely avoidable. We can probably count ourselves extremely fortunate that we still have a chance of pulling off the great escape, even though Saturday really is last chance saloon.
  8. They must struggle having double figures in the away end.
  9. They will take confidence from snatching a draw from the jaws of defeat last night, but Bonnyrigg’s form has been absolutely stinking since the turn of the year and our game over there in a fortnight is absolutely massive. I think they’re the team to catch. My gut instinct is that we’re going to fall short, but going into a play off with a reasonably strong quarter behind us will be huge for us. All to play for.
  10. Always been a huge fan of Dumbarton, and I wish them well here.
  11. Kinnear is an obvious upgrade on Leighfield but he does look a bit suspect from corners. Was giving me the fear yesterday. At least he can save shots though.
  12. I thought it looked quite busy yesterday. A lot of people in hospitality as well. It looked like Elgin brought a decent crowd with them too.
  13. Lyon’s only job during the promotion season was to carry a crate of Yazoos into the changing room. This season, he has spent the majority of it as captain. Make of that what you will.
  14. As someone else alluded to, the prospect of merging with anyone should be laughed at even now. Clyde comfortably beat top 4 opposition on Saturday with a good performance, but nobody was under any illusions that it was anything other than a flash in the pan unless we followed it up with a win on Tuesday night. There was an obvious improvement in performances in December/January which included a few games we drew which really should’ve won. That may be the roll people said we were on you alluded to. However, since the Aberdeen game it has been a total disaster. The belief that we would get out this mess was centred around the fact we have an almost entirely new squad who are streets ahead of what we had (on paper at least), and that we still had to play the teams we could conceivably catch (in some cases twice). The new players haven’t showed up and we’ve lost to Elgin, Stranraer and Forfar which is unforgivable in our predicament.
  15. Before it came apparent that our new squad routinely shite the bed in big games, I was thinking I’d much rather play EK than the winner of the Highland League but it doesn’t really matter as both will swat us aside with relative ease. Our ability to bounce back from relegation will largely depend on if this mysterious benefactor hangs around, but I’m pretty sure we were told he wouldn’t. If he does then having EK out the way would probably work in our favour.
  16. Did you read the post I quoted? If I was suggesting that Clyde would avoid 10th then fair enough, but don’t understand this bump?
  17. Can see it being quite a frustrating evening, we’ll need to be patient I think. For all they’ve not had a great season, McKinnon is shrewd and they don’t need to win as much as we do.
  18. Dumbarton strike me as one of the teams that might find themselves in Clyde’s current predicament at some point in the next few years. I do think there will be some other jobbies flushed before them, but they appear to have gone through the motions since relegation and you can only get away with that for so long, and the league is generally getting stronger with the new additions. Farrell will clearly get emptied at some point which might solve a lot of the problems but there always seems to be some boardroom chaos and a real disconnect between the supporters and the people running the club. Hope I’m wrong, and could be miles off the mark with my assessment but it’s just a hunch I’ve got.
  19. It was monumentally stupid, and he has previous for it. I don’t know if it’s borne of frustration having missed a couple of good chances again. He did have a good game overall though. Him and Rennie both being on yellows for so long was giving me the fear and I don’t know why one of them wasn’t subbed.
  20. He must surely be the worst 1st choice goalkeeper we’ve had in the last 20 years? All the other terrible ones I can remember were generally 2nd choice. It’s also bonkers that he had the cheek to request a contract cancellation instead of being unceremoniously binned.
  21. The lowland league is a deeply unserious division and is ‘senior’ in name only. If the perception of the lowland league was anything other than tinpot then this thread would not be awash with fans of other clubs having a right good laugh at Clyde’s imminent relegation to it. That’s not to say it’s beneath us in any way, or that we don’t deserve it. The writing has been on the wall for years, but I doubt a single Clyde fan will be thankful that we technically have a senior club to support when the inevitable happens.
