  1. I wonder how many Buckie fans genuinely believed their club would have a go at getting promoted. Embarrassing for the HL.
  2. What a shambles from the Buckie board.
  3. Completely written off Jones after a couple of god awful performances recently and the fact that we'd started without a striker. Fair play big man!
  4. Stenhousemuir should spare a thought for their (until last Saturday) fellow perennial losers and throw the game. Go on lads, it makes sense.
  5. Bray was class when he came on, took on the role Jeffreys had out wide and caused the Forfar defence chaos. Still rather MacLeman had some game time as he was one of our best players early on in the season and has been unlucky to be out of the team.
  6. Another game where we're cursing missed chances, but a draw is still a fair result. 2 very good goals and not much for either keeper to do outside of a couple of chances. Booth was very impressive as were the 2 centre halfs. Felt for Jones today, he had a shocker and couldn't seem to get anything right. One of those days for him.
  7. Don't think we've scored more than 2 in a game this season have we? It would not be very wise to predict a goalfest, and so that is exactly what I'll do. 7-4 Elgin.
  8. Agreed, although I've no idea what the contract situation is like with the loanees so we might find we're fortunate enough to sign one or two of them permanently depending on their parent clubs' situation. Not sure how convinced I am by the likes of Barron, Dangana who we've clearly spent a bit of money on. That being said, I have faith in Allan's reach within the game to bring guys in that can put in a shift given who he's brought in so far.
  9. Not sure I can go as far to say I'm confident about our chances but I no longer feel like we'll get pumped. Progress?
  10. Also, never thought I'd see the day where Nathan Austin spent 90 minutes in Ross Draper's pocket.
  11. Great game. We had so many chances, it was remarkable that it stayed 1-0. A really good team performance, the guys looked up for every challenge and wanted the ball all game. I wasn't massively fussed for Gallagher's end product but it felt like he was everywhere all game. When we had to defend, he was there. Moving forward, he was involved pretty much every time. Mitchell Taylor was amazing and caused the East Fife defence trouble all game, and Brian Cameron looked more energetic than I've seen him in a long time. A really great win.
  12. I thought Lyall Booth played very well on Saturday.
  13. The squad is looking a little more balanced now with the guys going out on loan for the rest of the season. Will be curious to see how Barron does back in the highland league as I felt he's really struggled with the step up to league two.
  14. Shame about Harvey but at the same time I don't think we were using him correctly and it seems a waste to have him only getting game time coming off the bench.
  15. Quoting the rulebook is how you know someone is rattled.
  16. Absolute shite. Jones wins the ball and the keeper has taken him out. Aye, he's taken a sore one but it doesn't change the fact it was a clear foul.
  17. Hard to argue with what Hale said about the first half, where we looked like we were playing not to lose the game. Not a great performance but it's a real credit to the guys that we came out for the second half with that drive and aggression that was missing. Great debut from Golding, considering he only signed on last night he settled in comfortably and looked really threatening. Another good shift from Jones and Dingwall worked his arse off as ever. I'd like us to be creating more chances but the shift in the way we play is really starting to pick up momentum. A vital 3 points.
  18. Firmly in team Rob Jones after today. What a guy. What a win! Mon the City!
  19. Wind is fair picking up on the other side of the firth. Any chance of this being at risk?
  20. Jones would have been the last person I'd have said should be taking penalties, not as a slight on his performances so far but just that he doesn't seem to strike the ball all that well. We looked really threatening in the first half hour or so and the more we had of the ball, the more Forfar struggled to get into it. I think they had a good chance at the end of the first half but that was about it. Second half we sat back and let them come at us. It wasn't great, the long balls to no-one were shite and Forfar looked pretty threatening when they were driving forward but there was absolutely no end product there. Mitchell Taylor is fast becoming one of my favourite Elgin players this season, he's really come on after a slow start since signing and there's another game where he's run himself into the ground. The kind of performance we're needing just now.
  21. Robert Jones has played well. Offers something different in the air and puts a shift in. No more penalties, please. As for Steven Mackay, he's a bit of an arsehole. Didn't like him much as a player and from what I hear he's not exactly a player favourite in the dressing room at Nairn. When shit inevitably hits the fan for us I'm not sure he's the guy to get us out of a hole.
