Not his most spectacular effort (as seen earlier when he scored from 40 yards) but I was at this game and it was to be the first of a fair few strikes the wee man netted. I don't remember him scoring any simple, straightforward goals for us in the short time that he was in Scotland - as demonstrated here by this goal at Dens:

This is a great photo - the tie is brilliant too! If you like, I can perhaps have a look in the SFA player registers at my work and see if there's any information about him if you like. Feel free to drop me a message - I can't guarantee that there'll be anything, but since they contain senior and junior clubs' players (no amateur clubs - amazingly, this includes Queen's Park too as the were registered by the SAFA) it might be worth looking into.

Very disappointed in Killie today. Barely troubled Hibs in their box and could have played all day without scoring. It appears that even in this new season we're still Jekyll and Hyde in terms of the home and away form, and I don't see that changing in our next game away in Dingwall. We only have ourselves to blame as Hibs looked really poor, but ultimately managed to find a way to put the ball in the net. Looking forward to not having to watch the stripes next weekend, watching Scotland instead will be a rare treat.

Well, where to start with that? If you give away a sloppy goal like that in the first minute and then gift another five minutes later you'll always be giving yourself a mountain to climb. This game is a perfect example of having all the chances that you need to win a game, yet we rarely looked like we were actually going to put the ball in the net. Even our goal came from poor goalkeeping! Talk about a six-pointer, Saints are somehow back in it and I can't say I'm too pleased about it. I was considering going up tonight, but I'm glad I decided not to go given the appalling showing. Must do better on Saturday against another team who are also desperate for any kind of win - and given our record against teams who need a win badly I think I'll start being concerned any minute now.

Can't really expand on this as I think everything you've said here I agree with. Especially the last sentence.

On this note, Killie's X/Twitter shared this image from around a similar time earlier today: I bowl at Portland BC which is only a stone's throw from RP, and inside there's a great photo which shows the bowling club, RP and streets of the town. Other than the cars on the streets, the odd home renovation and the stadium being rebuilt along with the hotel springing up where the old training pitches were, not that much has really changed in the past 40 odd years.

Relatively easy win for the stripes today - was expecting a tight contest, but we definitely did more than enough to win. Must admit I was a bit worried when I saw Donnelly and McKenzie coming on for the last 10 or so, but apart from the one chance that Livi played across the goalmouth that came to nothing, no real worries. Good to get a win on the board against someone that isn't Rangers, and hopefully we can build on today's performance for next Sunday against Aberdeen.

We've actually gone and done it and signed someone to be a striker! Add to that, someone who looks half-decent at the very least! You can perhaps understand my surprise given the last two windows for us were absolutely disastrous.

I'm excited for this one - I was gutted not to be able to make Motherwell away, but you can't make every game (unless you're Keith McAllister of Queen's Park fame). Hoping for a few goals from this mythical striker that we haven't signed yet despite it being deadline day tomorrow!

Absolutely wild stuff, even for the 70s. To think that one of the red tops (the Daily Record, I believe) offered Ally an all expenses paid trip to Peru to size up our World Cup opponents and he turned their very generous offer down. Still, that Peru kit is a thing of simplistic beauty. One of the most iconic kit designs there's been in international football, and yet the mere sight of it is enough to sicken Scots who remember this debacle.

It's stinking to lose a last-minute goal that wins the game for your opponents, but we only have ourselves to blame. Plenty of chances to turn domination in the first half into goals and nothing to show for it - proof if ever it was needed that we need a new striker. Fair play to Motherwell - hopefully this is used as motivation to improve things where they're required in our squad.

Unfortunately won't make this one due to work - not been to an away game at Fir Park for a few seasons now and I'm poorer for it. Hoping that I'll find a stream somewhere but not too hopeful on that one. Someone a few posts ago was of the opinion that we'd had a fortunate start - I don't know many teams who see Rangers (H), Hearts (A) and Celtic (H) as their first three matches and think, "yass, get in there". Contrast that with Motherwell who huffed and puffed against a newly-promoted Dundee before having home advantage over a thoroughly meh Hibs team who had an eye on European progression. Admittedly, St. Mirren are probably at a similar enough level to both Killie and Motherwell, but two can play at the being fortunate game, lads! I don't think this will be an easy game from our point of view at all, especially since this mythical new striker seems to be no closer to signing for us than he was this time last week. In spite of this, I'm quietly confident that we'll be able to get something from this. Even if Corrie Ndaba has to drop out due to injury, I think our defence is capable of holding firm as the players really seem to be buying in to what McInnes and Sheerin are doing.

In other news, I'm really not sure what Willy thinks of Brendan Rodgers. If only there was some way to tell...

Are we, or are we not, the absolute bois? I'm going to say yes. This is night and day from last season and we've become a team of difficult b*****ds to play against - Joel Sked was right when he labelled us the Premiership's least-favourite opponents last week. The game I'm most looking forward to right now is St. Mirren who I believe are in a very similar situation to us in that they're very capable of punching above their weight. I always look forward to playing the Buddies under normal circumstances as it's a good chance to meet up with mates and have a good time, but I think we might see a cracker of a game.

Danny Armstrong is becoming a world-class wee dick and I'm all for it. Loved seeing Joe Hart almost lose the place with him and not be awed at all by a guy who's played at the very top level of football. Summed up the entire game in about 15 seconds actually.

Another weekend, another diddy team swatted aside by delicious Del and the sensational stripes. What a turnaround this is from last season - the tombola has well and truly been retired and we've got a solid team who are giving it their absolute all for each other, for the manager and the fans. I think we can see that McInnes wasn't happy with last season's squad and now he has a team who he's happy with to play in the style that he wants to. It might not be pretty for opposition fans to watch but there's no real "right" way to play football - the right way to play football is the way that gets you results and this has definitely worked against teams who are far superior on paper to us. Celtic will probably improve and go on to another title, but this is as good a time as any to play them given their players are trying to adapt away from the Postecoglu style and get back into the way that Rodgers would like them to play. I'm so proud of this team, and the next round tie will be very tricky indeed - but at RP it's winnable, and we showed last weekend that we were no mugs against the JTs. Finally, I'm more than happy that this result has probably caused Viaplay to take an absolute tanking to its finances. Good riddance to them, and send on the quarter finals!

Week 3 - Aberdeen

It's the way forward from now on, baby! I'm not expecting a Killie win here, but I think we can give a decent account of ourselves. Celtic looked poor by their recent standards against Aberdeen, but they still have plenty of quality in their squad and we'll need them to have an off day in addition to our own players having a good day. I feel a lot better about this game now than I did when the draw was made, so I hope we can give it our all - you never know...

Very good so far. The ideal kind of player for our level and I think we're quite lucky to have him as a few Dons I've spoken to said they'd have been happy to still have him at Pittodrie.

I understand why that bottom-right corner of the away stand at Tynie is covered over for Hibs/Rangers/Celtic games - but there was absolutely no reason for it to be covered over to the extent that is was today. If they'd covered over the last 3 seats in a column I'd absolutely get that, but it seemed a bit like overkill for teams like ourselves and the likes of Motherwell, County, St Johnstone, St Mirren etc. Still, it's Hearts' ground and they can do what they like I suppose. As long as the people who are complaining about it the loudest are the old filth that's the main thing.

If you'd offered me a draw of any description before the game I'd have accepted that gladly. To have 4 points from two really difficult fixtures and not have conceded yet is very good indeed, and we look streets ahead of the team who struggled for points last year. We look like we'll be everyone's least-favourite opponents because of the way we're able to limit the amount of chances that teams will get against us, and if other teams come crying about that they can go away and cry more. The missing piece for us seems to be that elusive marquee striker signing, but apart from that I'm very impressed by what I've seen. I don't think we'll be in the hat for the next round in the cup, but with Celtic stuttering their way towards the full three points today you never know... Lastly, best of luck to the JTs on Thursday night. Hope you manage to get an early goal from one of the new signings and shut the Norwegians up á la Dykes & McLean. Vargas looks like a real diamond of a find, and if I was a Jambo I'd be getting excited about him.

Can't disagree with any of that. The boy in the lucho mask - what a shanner. I should be surprised that he was allowed to wear it by the police and stewards, but it seems that once they're in the stand it turns into no rules land and they can do whatever they want while singing all the party songs. At least we shut them up rather nicely today. The other thing that annoys me about results like this is Celtic fans trying to muscle in and make it about them. Lads, you have every right to enjoy Rangers losing (who doesn't? It's great fun!), but this is our moment in the sun and we're going to enjoy it ourselves without you lot trying to act like you're our new best pals because it does you a favour in the league.

Week 1: Falkirk Week 2: Queen's Park

I had a valid excuse but I'm not sure the same could be said for them - I thought they didn't do walking away? As I walked past the Rugby Road turnstiles they were leaving in their droves. Very, very pleasing.
