Was there a fire inside the stadium and thousands of supporters lives at risk?

    No.

    Stop blaming the police.

I wasn’t blaming them, my 1st line in that post that you quoted, and edited out, was blaming the Celtic fans pushing the door.

It’s already been pointed out by other Celtic fans here that there was two ticket checkpoints before the turnstiles that should’ve stopped any ticketless Celtic fans from reaching the stadium.

You make it seem as though this fire exit just happens to be there to allow Celtic fans illegal entry. No, they attempted to smash through it 😂 what can Motherwell do to direct Celtic fans away from a fire exit without causing any issues if it needs to be used in a genuine emergency?

”Celtic fans are not blameless in this” Christ, they are the only ones to blame for attempting to boot the door open.

    Yep, self-entitled arseholes.

The night up at Tannadice when we secured the league last May was a fucking disgrace trying to get into The Shed, loads of fans without tickets causing a crush (in which there was kids caught up in) and holding back the queues whilst they stood in the turnstile for a minute or two trying to bribe the operator to let them in, and not giving a single f**k about the mayhem they were causing behind them. Ended up taking over an hour to get in.

Also the police made a c**t of it in the first place by not having a ticket check in the street to reduce the number of ticketless fans getting to the turnstiles. From what I’ve been told, Saturdays game was different as there were checks and few fans outside without tickets. The idiots trying to open the exits probably had no idea what was in the other side of the door. Still think the police shouldn’t be pushing against a fire exit but obviously a difficult one to police.

"Were you at the game, caller?" Almost every post you've made today for a starter for ten.

Show where I was defending the indefensible, every time I’ve mentioned the fans on the other side of the exit I’ve called them idiots.

1st you said you were referring to my posting history and now it’s about all my posts today, show me something.

I'm referring to your posting history in defending the indefensible, not just this thread. As an aside, as you will know, the concourse outside the ground at the away end is fairly substantial so you have no idea how many fans are lurking outwith camera shot.

There were 2 police checks going up to the ground, and going by that video, im guessing there weren’t many ticketless fans just hanging about.

Any examples of me defending the indefensible??

Your view of the world of Celtic Football Club and all that surrounds it is off the f*ck*ng scale.

Like your ability to read and comprehend a written post, I was referring to the video posted on here that only had police and a few fans in a queue outside the stadium and didn’t see why the police didn’t just open the doors and dragged the idiots out, they were quick enough to link arms and kettle fans on the way to the ground, could easily be done here instead of pushing against a fire exit, it wasn’t a good look for all involved, imho. which part is difficult to understand?

It was a genuine question followed by a facetious comment. What plausible reason could there be for Celtic fans trying to break down a door other than to try and let fellow supporters in?

Of course it was, except there weren’t any there. I Think I answered that question in the post you quoted.

  7. 10 minutes ago, AJF said:

So if that’s the case, then surely the obvious question is: why are Celtic fans trying to boot open a fire exit if there is no purpose for doing so?

I don’t imagine they are trying to break it open just for some fresh air.

I know you’re just trying to be a smart ass but I’ve no idea if they knew what was outside, prob thought or were told there were fans locked out, there were plenty looking for tickets. Just think it’s idiots being idiots and the police should’ve let them open it and grabbed them.

still think it would be easier to open the door and grab the idiots that are trying to open it.

What's the point in even trying to engage with people that think booting down fire exits is normal behaviour.

  9. 5 minutes ago, AJF said:

Aye, it seems odd to focus on the police trying to hold the doors closed as the main safety issue here. If they had allowed the doors to be opened and more piled in (either without tickets or into sections that are already full) that surely increases the safety risk.

Going by that video, and the fact there were a couple of checks before getting close to the ground, there wasn’t anyone outside, just police and fans in a queue.

Do share how you know they had tickets?

We all know the more likely scenario from the fan base with history of this.

They were inside and there were 2 checks before getting to the turnstiles. Are you claiming most Celtic fan at away grounds don’t have tickets? What history are you referring too?

How much of an entitled c**t do you need to be to turn up to a match without a ticket, try boot down a fire exit and endanger everyone else in the stand, the absolute state of these degenerates and they'll be up to the same antics every other week because they're not held responsible.

The ones trying to open the doors have tickets, and how are they endangering everyone else in the stand? Wee bit of a drama Queen.

You ever been to a Celtic away game?

    No since last Tuesday, no.

Police and stewards don't Police or manage them as is. This mythical "open it and grab them" is fantasy land. The only time that would happen would be if one of the wee diddy teams were trying it.

Let's be frank the Police only Police the smaller teams away fans the rest get to do what they like. Pathetic state of affairs but everyone, including the green brigade are well aware of it.

Will it take a disaster for the behaviour to stop, probably. But then it will be somebody elses fault. No responsibility will be taken whatsoever. All pretty pathetic tbh.

The bill that the Westminster Government are trying to impose on away fans is intended to help deal with this type of behaviour. All the arse cheeks manage by doing this, and other scummy behaviour at away games, time after time are giving them more ammunition to impose it, or even ban away fans all together. Something that Celtic fans in particular say is killing the atmosphere at the old firm games. The **** are doing for a different reason I know.

It’s never a good look in this day and age to be filmed preventing a fire exit being opened.

Maybe your points are valid but still think it would be easier to open the door and grab the idiots that are trying to open it.

I’m not familiar with Celts are Here website but it has footage of Police struggling  to hold the fire exit doors closed from the inside as fans outside try to kick it in.

Incredibly, the Green Brigade narrative with the footage is that the Police are blocking a fire escape and are in effect putting fans safety at risk!

    WTF

I do t get it, why are they trying to open a door when the only people the other side of it are police and fans with tickets standing in a queue? And why don’t the police let them open it and then grab them and don’t let them back in, surely there must be police on the inside that can assist.

I don't think people moaning about wild celebrations in the last minute have ever been to a game. What is the point in going to the football if you can't celebrate moments like that? I was near the back of the top tier and I couldn't even see the ball hit the net but it was still brilliant. Near enough that full section of young boys were out on the park when they equalised and fair dous to them, as frustrating as it was at the time, they got a bit back when we got the winner and nobody got hurt.

Tough watch at times, Motherwell set up well and had chances. We are well organised but other than the game v Livi we don't seem to be as quick as last season and teams are finding it a bit easier to frustrate us.  Very impressed with the way we reacted to conceding the late goal.

Apparently no Celtic fan on here goes to games.
