  1. What absolute guff being spewed by Kettlewell. Embarrassing.
  2. The reason we drop off in the second half is mainly down to the intensity of the first half. Our pressing in the first half is fantastic. We hunt in packs and usually have three players on one opposition player and constantly win the ball back. Last week Boyle and Youan were anonymous as when for example Boyle had the ball Tanser, Kiltie and O'Hara crowded him out to get it back. Similar on right wing and all over the park. But keeping that up is exhausting. As fitness improves we should be able to maintain it for longer. But for now we probably need fresh legs at the 60 min mark to keep it going.
  3. I certainly do not blame Hemming for the first goal. Not only was the shot made with pinpoint accuracy there was a swerve on it. My concern is the left hand side where both goals came from. This really is a weak area for us.
  4. If you read my post properly you will know that I was not referring to loans in general but to the loan of Lowry specifically. I have no problems with loans if they suit our requirements. In this case it does not. Lowry is highly thought of at Sevco and will not end up at St Mirren. If he doesn't make the grade at Ibrox he will be sold for loads of cash elsewhere so there is no long term nor short term benefit to us. Ethan Sutherland is only 17 and Luke Kenny is 19. Both have played first team for us and those are the players we should be developing for short term use and future income.
  5. Well Hibees, you will see a change from us this season. Gone are the days of sitting in and attacking on the break with Main battering everything in sight. We now play a 3-4-3 and attack, attack, attack. Team for Saturday will be Hemming. Fraser, Gogic and Taylor. Strain, Baccus, O'Hara, Tanser. McMenamin, Mandron and Olusanya. Scoreline 6-6.
  6. Lowry is no loss to us. Surprised he went to Hearts as he'll get little game time there considering the size of their squad. If we continue to play a 3-4-3 with 2 wing backs then we already have O'Hara, Baccus, CBM, Gogic, Kiltie, (Flynn) all vying for the 2 midfield places. And what does that say to our own Academy players when we bring in a 20yo to develop for another Club? Better to give the likes of Sutherland and Jamieson game time. Lowry is maybe a decent player but not one that we should be developing to help Sevco at the expense of our own lads.
  7. Good afternoon on all levels. 2nd goal was pure class. Strain is by far the best wing back in this League - triple his wages and offer him a 5 year contract or sell him to a Saudi club. Baccus was excellent. Good to get some game time in for new players and fringe players. Reckon we should put Greive out on loan until Jan to team like Partick Thistle as lack of game time means he is not progressing. All in all a decent afternoon and the score flattered Forfar.
  8. Stav showed what we have missed since possibly Lewis Morgan - a forward who is calm and composed. We had lots of one-on-ones with a keeper last season and panic generally overtook the striker. O'Hara and Kiltie were quite composed when chances came but forwards tended to overrun or hit and hope. Let's hope Stav keeps it up and teaches the many other forwards we have acquired how to calm down when a chance arises.
  9. Me too. I am happy to contribute for kit, coaching, equipment etc, but resent paying for their yearly jaunt to Germany. This request really bugs me. There is no need to waste our £5k going to Germany for a week for a competition. If this continues I'd consider leaving SMiSA. I'd also like to supporters' money being used to benefit supporters. What happened to the TVs on the concourses? How about hot water and decent hand driers in the loos?
  10. Doubt it would be Robinson. We have sold 4 players since January, 3 of whom weren't getting a game and we have sell-ons for 3 of them. Pretty good business. No-one has been sold under the manager. Baccus I believe was told when we signed him that we wouldn't stand in his way if we got an offer over a certain amount. Now if Strain and O'Hara are sold I'd be worried but nothing of concern so far. And Carson is being petty. He has 3 years on his contract and says he wants away after a fall-out. St Mirren said only if we get a transfer fee.
  11. Maybe Baccus has a contract clause saying he could leave for x amount. And maybe Strain hasn't so we can ask for as much as we want.
  12. We have around 10 strikers so far this season so we are not bothered about defending. Hope to win most games 9-8 or thereabouts.
  13. Losing Carson and Joe makes our defence a lot more vulnerable. Carson is a very good keeper and Joe was our most consistent CD. Gallagher is now the best we have and I hope his fitness problems are over. Not a great fan of Dunne as he is generally ok but his mistakes are usually big and often cost us. Same with Fraser but maybe less so. Taylor could come good and with the number of midfielders we now have I would think Gogic may be playing more often in defence. But I would prefer Carson and Joe to be in there.
  14. Must say I like RandomGuy's input. His player analysis is interesting and at least his posts are respectful if sometimes misguided.
  15. Well fans are writing off Mandron however your manager was very keen to keep him. So who knows best? Manager or fans?
  16. Glad to see some options up top. At the end of the season in critical games we only had Main carrying an injury and Greive available with Kiltie also filling in with the young lads getting a cameo appearance of a few minutes. And Ayunga won't be ready until Oct so we are not overloaded but now at least have some cover.
  17. Strain is a fantastic right wing back. Best in the League in my opinion. We have never played him anywhere else so no idea how he'd get on in other positions. I look at Paul McGinn who could play centre back, full back and wing back. Reckon Strain could easily play these positions and maybe even right winger as well!
  18. Main was garbage in his first season with us. Just like he was with the Dons. Reckon most fans would have liked to see him out the door. Then came Robinson and I've never seen such a transformation in a player. He suited our style last season and worked his socks off but he is not a natural finisher. We hoped someone could play off him to score but that never materialised and as he was the target man he had most opportunities. If Fletcher can squeeze out another season he'd be my short term choice for target man role.
  19. Fair enough. Someone on Twitter said Carroll was a trialist tonight. I'll stick with my first answer then. Apparently confirmed it is Lennon and Carroll is not a trialist.
  20. Gallacher Lennon? We are checking him out with a view to a contract.
  21. So you reckon you'll get £350k for a guy that scored 6 goals last season with 1 year left on his contract? Don't think so. We can sign him in 6 months for a few bob.
  22. I was at a book festival where Cosgrove spoke for an hour on the history of black music in America. The guy knows his stuff. Yea, like many people who enjoy one genre they slate everything else ( I know several heavy metal fans who point blank refuse to listen to anyone else and have absolutely no knowledge of any other music).
