  1. So, still one person involved in the Goodwillie decision then. Actually more worrying is no sign of the democratically elected supporters director.
  2. Website saying this. Anyone got a list of who the 7 are? Is Susan Simpson still there? Dot Wilson confirmed as one of the 7?
  3. Did miss that to be fair. MacDonald still there and Chairman though so initial point still stands.
  4. Wasn’t about Sim. He is technically still about but not having a controlling stake and having committed to becoming non-active at the club means you can argue it’s a fresh start on that front. My reply was a response to an incorrect comment that everyone involved with the DG decision was gone when they’re clearly not. Tom Morgan as far as I’m aware still on the board, although suspect he might stand down at some point, but Steve MacDonald is part of the consortium and currently our Chairman. Whether that matters or not to most folk I doubt, but it does mean that some directly responsible for the Goodwillie signing are still about the club.
  5. Might be missing something but I can’t really see Lang being Premiership quality based on what I’ve seen of him for us. Too quick to dive in and gives away too many needless fouls. Up against better quality strikers that’ll get worse. Based on our weaknesses this season, if there’s any part of the squad I’d be happy being totally dismantled and rebuilt, it’s our defence. The last Hamilton match highlighted just how unfit for purpose it was.
  6. Haughey is a huge Celtic fan so this wouldn’t surprise me. Probably knows him from there.
  7. Queens Park being saved from themselves here. If they’d gone up then they’d have likely been another Gretna.
  8. Queen’s Park doing a Falkirk here. Absolute no shows tonight.
  9. A sign that Falkirk are just gonna stick with McGlynn if they’re letting him sign players?
  10. While I’d love this to be the case, two of the directors who sat around the table and went ‘This is a great signing’ and then doubled down with that second statement are still on our board. One is part of the consortium and our Chairman
  11. Not sure Murray has done anywhere near enough to deserve the move, but euthanasia for Hughes is a good shout. Probably the only thing that would stop him going on radio touting himself.
  12. John Hughes so he can achieve the relegation hat-trick.
  13. Presumed the Brown offer was an extension on what’s there already. Not convinced about Dick either.
  14. Not sure if this has been posted, but from The Record: Raith Rovers have tabled a number of contract extensions. Boss Ian Murray has offered new deals to Jamie MacDonald, Liam Dick, Aidan Connolly and captain Scott Brown. Midfielder Brad Spencer also has the option of another, which the player can trigger, at his request, by the end of the month. New chief executive Andrew Barrowman and Murray met the players last week to make offers and discuss their futures. Rovers hope to have answers from the majority of their squad by next week.
  15. Fair enough. If it was hospitality then probably more to do with drink and the frustration at losing such an important game. Don’t think it would have been widely felt around the rest of the ground at the time. And those same folk grumbling would no doubt be singing his praises 8 games later when we won the league at Hampden. Regardless of what folk now think of him, what he did for us in both of his spells is undeniable. Got us out of League One both times and had one season in each spell where we’ve come as close to the Premiership as anyone has except maybe the Ray McKinnon season. Not defending him for leaving us or his part in the DG fiasco which definitely soiled the legacy, but none of that removes his actual achievements. Having said all that, the Falkirk situation is hilarious.
  16. Honestly don’t remember that at all. Most people I know thought Ayr were celebrating far too prematurely as the league was still quite tight. No one I knew thought he deserved to be sacked at that moment - which was spot on given how things worked out. Appreciate that there’s an appetite for revisionism amongst our support after McGlynn left us to go to Falkirk and folk want to brand him a dud, but he’s been easily one of our better managers in the last 30 years.
  17. Jesus, just saw the Falkirk score. McGlynn really doesn’t do play-offs.
  18. Presumed it was just them moving themselves in anticipation of a pitch invasion at the end?
  19. Went along out of habit but really enjoyed that tonight. Down to the bare bones but team dug in well and great not to lose. Would have loved to ruined Thistle’s play off hopes at the time but on reflection would much rather have them than Morton in the play offs. Good luck to Thistle but selfishly hope you stay down as I love Firhill as an away day.
