  1. Alot of fans believe that the titles won by Rangers during the period where they were over spending and signing players (including the use of EBTs) are tainted (I don't like that word but you get the meaning) as they were playing players they couldn't afford to gain an on field advantage. Now I understand that alot of clubs have done this in the past but it was done to such a degree that Rangers eventually were liquidated. The fans then want to claim that club and company are separate and want to claim all the previous titles as well as starting out new with zero debt (other than that accrued since the Sevco formation). I don't really understand the legalities but surely morally you can see why people may have issue with this? It's basically wanting to take the titles, have the club accept no responsibility, and just carry on. If that were Celtic most of the Rangers fans defending this would be the first to jump the other way. The concept is utterly ludicrous. The Club gained advantage due to the money spent but want none of the responsibility of that overspending. The EBT is just another thing that the fans of other clubs being unhappy to give credence to their argument (rightly or wrongly). You can't seriously believe that these fans have no reason to be pissed about it? As I've said, if it wasn't your club going through it I'm pretty sure you'd be the same as them. I don't blame you for sticking up for your club (or whatever bracket you want to give it) but surely you can see why other fans might be more than a but pissed off? Dont get me wrong, some may let this consume them but any Scottish football fan, regardless of their team should take an interest in this case.
  2. The thing is, if it was Celtic (for example) that were in this situation instead of your club, you'd be frothing at the mouth and demanding justice. Try and see it from a neutral point of view and I'm sure you'll understand why there is hostility there. If you can't understand that, then there is no point in debating it with you as you're too blinkered. I get fans sticking up for their team regardless, but there seems to be a complete lack of humility from Rangers /Sevco (or whatever you want to call them) fans. They genuinely seem to feel hard done to and can't appreciate why other fans might be annoyed by the things that's led to this situation.
  3. Which makes absolutely no difference me as a Falkirk fan. Stainrod is way ahead of Farid but as has been previously mentioned, Farid will be to some younger fans, what Stainrod is to my generation. How each player was away from the club makes no difference in the slightest. Before Farid came, the fans and the club were as far apart as I can remember in recent years. His goals, effort and attitude played no small part in helping bridge that gap.
  4. Thanks for that. I suspected it meant little to the current clumpany but wasn't sure.
  5. So what does this latest ruling actually mean? Will it make one iota of difference to Sevco as a club? The whole thing just baffles me now, it's been 3 and a half years of ongoing legal Mumbo-jumbo.
  6. I'm a bit late to the thread...my tuppence worth; Wear a poppy (whichever colour) or don't, I couldn't care less and wonder why others do. Someone shared a page on my FB thread complaining about some tart from sky sports not wearing a poppy. Who actually give a f**k about that kind of thing!? I read ALOT of Sci fi but have only read 1 Orwell book (1984). It was excellent, but not as good as A Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.
  7. That is going to be my next book after I've finished the 3rd book in the Silo series. Fancied it for ages and downloaded it a few days ago.
  8. Exoskeleton by Shane Stadler. A man convicted of rape is given the choice to take a sentence of 1 year in a new experimental sentence instead of a 25 year sentence. Mix of technology (Sci-fi ish), horror and mystery. I thought it was great. Read it only 2 or 3 sittings.
  9. The Lies of Locke Lamora - Scott Lynch I'm about 70% the way through it. As good as 'The Name of the Wind' although different. Orphaned child gets taken in by a thief who trains him (and others) in his art. His childhood and adult escapades. Brilliant so far. Just. Read. It. (PS - Im drunk)
  10. I agree with all of this.. but ESPECIALLY the battle system point. No need to touch it, they messed around with it in the newer games and ruined it. It was almost perfect, LEAVE IT ALONE!!!!
  11. So why is he saying that if the debts of the clubs has reduced overall? Doesn't make any sense to me. As far as I'm aware all the clubs in the top flight (not including Celtic as I haven't heard about them) have managed to reduce their debt. Surely that would indicate a better financial performance and not worse (whether it's through crowds due to challenging, cut back in staff or cuts in wages) however it was done, it WAS done. In what way can reducing debt be a bad thing? On what basis is he saying this?
  12. If the premier teams are so fucked without Sevco how come the finances and debt for all teams outwith Celtic (I'm genuinely not sure about Celtic either way) has improved since Rangers demise? As far as I'm aware the debt of all the clubs has reduced dramatically.
  13. http://www.heraldscotland.com/mobile/news/home-news/google-quizzed-as-rangers-training-ground-is-renamed-ashley-park-in-its-maps-service.126230077 Might have been posted already (can't be arsed checking) but it gave me a giggle.
  14. It was utterly dreadful. The production was shameful. So bad I quite like it now Also, I found my copy less than a month ago when I was clearing out an old laptop bag.
  15. Going to the bottom and working their way back up WAS preferential treatment. Airdrieonians were denied that option being told that phoenix clubs weren't allowed straight back in at the lowest level as it would encourage teams going into liquidation, wiping debt and returning unphased. Sevco were given preferential treatment, whether they like to admit it or not.
  16. This. Its absolutely hilarious and an awful clutching at straws. No-one can honestly believe this.
  17. This might've been answered already but what difference would delisting mean to Rangers/The Rangers/Sevco? Would it have a bigger impact with regards to fans who have invested in shares? I'm a bit lost with everything that's going on.
  18. What do you mean by 'write the season off'? Surely you still want to get to the playoffs? Or do you mean, its just a whatever happens, happens kind of thing? Can the club afford another season in the 1st? I genuinely have no idea. I cant see why scouting is even on the radar at the moment for you as with the money issues I would have thought it was an unnecessary expense in the short term. The youth is an obvious way to go as it would be much cheaper, makes perfect sense. When we dropped down from the Premier we had to go with the youth as we couldnt afford to do anything else, we are now financially sound (as far as Im aware) although not competing enough for some of our fans. (I guess its fine balancing act for the board) Im wondering how the Rangers fans would cope with a potential mid table 1st division team for a season or so to try and balance the books and rebuild slowly. Im sure some would be perfecly understanding and prefer it to losing money hand over fist but Im sure some would find it difficult to cope with. Playing youngesters does tend to make the fans more understanding, its just HOW understanding is the big question. The main thing I would assume would be to find out why the club is hemorrhaging money and trying to turn that around? 70 Million (if that figure is accurate) is such a ludicrous sum to be in the red after 2 seasons in the lower leagues that I can even fathom whats been going on and thats AFTER taking money in via gates, TV etc. so its actually even more than that. Frightening.
