  1. It's hard to see Lyall getting the nod tomorrow night after getting hooked at half time on Saturday although I wouldn't be averse to Frizz making way. A quick turnaround from Saturday so fitness will dictate who plays with hints that McStravick could be back in the squad but I do think he'll go the 5 at the back and we'll see the most defensive McCabe side ever. Rae Ballantyne McCabe/Watson Fordyce Megwa Hancock Telfer and 4 others
  2. You could revise your prediction after every round of games. I can't see Arbroath getting the wins required so it's 9th at the very best for them. Dunfermline will finish top in the top 5 now there starting to get their players back and Matty Todd is massive for them, therefore Ayr, Airdrie, ICT & QP in no particular order!
  3. Pointless debating Garrity's goal being offside at that angle. Those who watched Thistle v Dunfermline on Friday night will understand why. Regardless, you've got to take your hat off to Morton for the run they're on with a bottom 3 budget.'
  4. Not really enamoured with the front 3 who for one reason or another haven't impressed but with McGregor potentially injured again and Todorov we have little options other than bringing in a loanee.
  5. Whilst I'm a huge fan of Aiken and his energy and ball winning abilities have been sorely missed, absolutely it needs urgently evaluated. Rhys did state that he had a minor set back but there's his fit to return date, then his match fitness date. It would be very harsh on the boy to cancel his loan and perhaps sour relationship with Hibs but the club comes first. Of course, only if there is a suitable alternative!
  6. Now now Jack you were shouting out for Aaron Lyall to start last week!
  7. Agree but given our lack of goals, a forward is a priority, but at this stage with the domestic loan market closing in a few days then there is probably no one good enough or more importantly available. Most fans thought that Gal & Gabby would do ok this year but it hasn't worked out that way although both have struggled with injuries and perhaps Gal's part time status is a step too far. Its abundantly clear that, at the moment we can't compete financially with other clubs in this league hence why we sign so many young players but sometimes you have to "push the boat out" for that guy who can make a difference to secure our championship status. I still believe we are very much on an upward curve and we don't need many more wins to finish 8th but they now have to come against the teams around us. Would be great to get something at Tannadice on Tuesday night but next Saturday against QP is huge where a defeat would leave me very worried.
  8. We have signed Lyall & Donnell and although early days, both have still to impress.
  9. In fairness Morton didn't exactly show much hospitality to Lewis McGregor.
  10. Ref actually cut it short. 7 mins injury but only played 6. Anyway well done to Morton and it looks like a top 4 place is virtually guaranteed. We have a job on our hands finishing 8th as I can't help thinking that Arbroath losing a 94th equaliser today has more or less knocked the stuffing out of them.
  11. Now that Fordyce is playing and a couple of big players missing for Morton, I'm now more optimistic but would still rather have the Manager playing in place of McMaster even though he's been pretty good recently.
  12. A 3-4-2-1 formation perhaps with Frizz & Lyall behind Todorov.
  13. Totally get why Morton fans are confident given their recent form and the law of averages suggest it might be there turn to beat us, but they also suggest that their long unbeaten run will come to an end soon. I will be optimistic if Fordyce is playing and pessimistic if he's not, as was proven last week. One for Morton fans. Iain Wilson was a player I admired and thought he was a tremendous signing for QOS last season in league 1 but had a terrible season and now he seems back to the player he was the previous year. I'm aware he did have a couple of injuries and I suppose it's difficult to play on QOS's shite playing surface but why the massive turn around?
  14. I might be wrong but I think Airdrie TV cited a WIFI issue previously at Cappielow.
  15. With Ballantyne just back from injury and a load of games coming up, I can see Megwa replacing him although I wouldn't be surprised if we change shape if Fordyce doesn't make it.
  16. Yeh, Todorov especially on Saturday as Morton are definite threat in the air with Strapp's long throw in's.
  17. The manager did mention in last weeks pre-match preview he had a minor set back but almost ready to resume training. As always he never gives much away with the injury situations and never mentioned McStravick either.
  18. Yip, you have the joint 2nd best goals against record in the league, with emm, Airdrieonians. Granted, you certainly score more than us.
  19. We're in trouble with any combination in central defence that doesn't include Fordyce. Or if rumours come to fruition, maybe a back 4 of: Megwa Fordyce Hancock Ballantyne.
  20. On a side note, Dougie Imrie confirmed last week in a pre match interview that he also tried to sign Lyall but he chose us.
  21. Lyall definitely has ability but I'm not sure of his best position. It appears that he would best in Frizz's role. Dycey's fitness needs evaluated quickly as we are so reliant on him. I get the point about moving Hancock into central defence but what a loss that would be the left back role. Our best player by a mile at this time. Concur about Ayr threads!
  22. If we could guarantee that Ballantyne & Hancock remain fit for the rest of the season then the preference would be a centre back however how hard it is to turn Megwa down. However, if Fordyce is out, even for another 2 or 3 games then a centre back would be an absolute necessity! It seems pretty much a universal opinion since pre season about our need for a centre back.
