  1. I think the "disappointing news" from the player himself tells its own story. Yes I suppose, we don't know how long he's going to be out but probably he doesn't either yet.
  2. The player's reaction to Josh's injury (broken jaw/cheekbone?) suggested that it wasn't good news and that looks to be confirmed. Big blow but I suppose the search for an emergency loan has already begun. Gabby coming off early is also a concern especially with Lewis McGregor out which may give more opportunities to Josh O'Connor to provide a bit of pace up front.
  3. Another big game tomorrow where 3 points would take us 8 clear of Caley and would be a real tough ask for them to claw that back and also the added bonus of sneaking into 4th which would be a great psychological boost. Caley seem to have a few injuries issues as well but such is the nature of this league that nothing would be a surprise.
  4. Edinburgh City in dire financial trouble, struggling to pay wages and got a points deduction.
  5. Indeed it is, I think its fair to say he instigated the "shushing" with the Rovers fans and responded to boos with a "shush" last night. Anyway, I hope he is "shushing" the Caley fans on Saturday.
  6. Great management from Rhys as he's always on about implementing our style of play on the opposition but obviously took one look at the pitch and decided to go hoof ball and great to see the return of the Beastie boys as there's been accusations that we can be a bit of a tippy tappy soft touch. A bit lucky as Frizzell would have walked if the VAR gurus were watching even though it wasn't for me but a great cross for the first and good to see him play well. The back 4 were outstanding all night with, as usual, Fordyce being a magnet for cross balls.
  7. Well we don't need to bother about squeezing in our 3 full backs. Ballantyne not in the squad and lets hope is not a recurrence of his previous injury.
  8. Dunfermline fans suggesting that the pitch (touchy subject I know) is not in the best condition therefore I wouldn't have McStravick in the starting 11. I might not have him in anyway as he's not contributing enough and he was getting brushed aside by Longridge too easily for my liking. Note the difference when Hancock blew past Longridge for his goal on Saturday. Admittedly Frizz has been struggling but Lyall & Donnell haven't really impressed to date either. I can't pick the side tonight but we need to find a system that includes Megwa, Ballantyne & Hancock. McCabe will replace McMaster if fit but the suggestion that he has a hammy doesn't look good. McGill looks a certain starter too given that he's a lot more mobile than Toddy or Gal. Be delighted to get a point tonight.
  9. Couldn't agree more, I know he doesn't have the greatest goal scoring record but his pace, and our lack of, is a definite cause for concern. McGregor is our only forward who's quick and can get in behind but unfortunately he's out again.
  10. I get your point, a little, as he can get caught out at times due to his lack of pace but he's still an excellent footballer.
  11. I'm more worried about our last performance at Airdrie against Dunfermline than conspiracies, as quite honestly its the easiest we've been beaten all season, we were much better at East End earlier in the season. Aiken & McGregor will be missing which hurts us as they are our 2 quickest players from middle to front, although getting used to Aiken being out as that's been 4 months now and hopes diminishing that we'll see him again this season. Our away record is poor even including last weeks win at Tannadice but as always, we need to score first to win.
  12. Yes, this applies to all sides from Dunfermline down. It's a mini league from now until the end of season.
  13. Of course a win today would have put us in a really strong position but Its going to change with every week. In fact, a win for us on Tuesday would all of a sudden see us looking at the play offs at the other end of the table, likewise Dunfermline. It's crazy! After these next round of games against the sides round about us which culminate in a home game against Arbroath on the 2nd April, if we're not 3 points clear of 9th, then that will be very worrying.
  14. Yes, it might take us down the league but if we draw our remaining 11 games that would take us to 43 points which I would expect be enough for any side to finish 8th.
  15. Me too, but there is another 5 clubs thinking the same.
  16. The manager will need to bring himself on, Frizz and McMaster are constantly giving the ball away.
  17. Massive game tomorrow with 5 clubs trying to avoid 9th place and a lot of looking at other results going on but the only way to avoid 9th place is to look after yourselves. Whilst 3 points would take us 4 points away from QP with 2 games in hand, its probably more important we do not lose and potentially drop to 3rd bottom. The comment above will apply to our next 5 games which are all effectively 6 pointers. An average of 1 point game from our remaining 12 should be enough for us to secure 8th place even though the club are aiming higher.
  18. And that takes us on to Queens Park and a visit from our favourite striker and Quitongo ally, Ruari Paton. A complete rocket but you got to hand it to him, he's having a tremendous season and a real threat tomorrow. I believe he's on a long term contract at QP but I doubt they'll be able to keep him if they got relegated and perhaps even if they stay up.
  19. Different sides react differently to how we play but we do knock it about the back where the intention is for the opposing side to get frustrated and lose there shape, so that we can pass through the lines. If sides decide not to press then its more of the traditional stuff although our keeper does normally play high and is actually a very good long passer which sometimes is a punt like most goalies. In fairness it's had mixed results and we've been caught a few times.
  20. Never expected that, but nice one and shocked at how little pressure we were under.
  21. Me neither, surprised that McGill & Gal are both starting but you would expect Gal to be the deeper of the 2. Not surprised McStravick is back in as I think its very clear that Rhys really rates him. Interesting that United make 4 changes as well with Wotherspoon injured, Moult and Fotheringham on the bench.
