  1. Agreed, from when I got into the car after the game until I turned off at Newton Mearns I heard nothing about the Kilmarnock game. Only Kenny Miller talking virtually non stop about Rangers with the occasional mention of Hibs. It was awful. I very rarely listen to Sportsound now after the final whistle as it's basically a Celtic and Rangers round up until the nonsense starts at 5.30. Apparently last night we were getting the musical choices of Aidan McGeady - why?
  2. That's a dreadful result for Arthurlie, I wasn't expecting that. Good luck to Glasgow United
  3. I was in the 2nd back row of the upper sections and the sound was fine apart from 'True Faith".
  4. Had never heard of Confidence Man (i'm too old) but really enjoyed them.
  5. I thought they were brilliant on Thursday night.
  6. To both teams. Unfortunately this is simply the norm nowadays. The standard is dreadful.
  7. Seriously? No disrespect to St Mirren, but if we want to get into the top 6 (not a chance with McInnes as manager) then it's games like this we need to win. I thought we were slightly the better team but as per usual under McInnes's tactic/coaching etc we rarely look like scoring. St Mirren looked pretty well organised by the man I wanted as manager when Tommy Wright was chased. I was very surprised how few St Mirren brought down today - 2nd in the league and playing well I thought you would have brought down a lot more.
  8. My favourite Scottish band were The Blue Nile. Also liked Danny Wilson. I also knew Paul Wishart who was in Endgames from school. Their first (and only?) single was really good.
  9. Don't know why but my dad took me to that game. I thought is was peeing down but doesn't look like it from the photos. Think I have the programme somewhere in the loft.
  10. And that was when you only played them twice each in the league each season. A fantastic achievement.
  11. Yip, one of those in the cup final after knocking us out in the semi final.
  12. Do you know what the building to the left of Love Street is - off Harbour Road I think?
  13. It's an utter disgrace what they have done to St James. Can you trust that council to do anything right after their efforts at Dargavel I remember playing there quite often for the BB when I was a teenager and the place was packed every Saturday. Such a shame.
  14. Are you sure it's 1981? - we played England at Wembley that year, my first trip there. John Robertson scored the winning goal with a penalty.
  15. I saw Elton at the Apollo in the 80s and he was brilliant live then. It was his first tour with his old original band again. I haven't seen him since and thought he was done years ago. I was wrong, he was superb tonight. Thought the musicians in Blondie earlier on today were way ahead of the vocals, albeit I still quite enjoyed watching them. As for the QOTSA - I don't get what folk see in them, a lot like The Foo Fighters. Each to their own though.
  16. Santana's version of She's Not There is miles better then the original by The Zombies.
  17. I remember being worried the game was going to e abandoned after we had gone 1 up against you. That was a massive 3 points for us as you suggest. I also remember your 3-3 game at Ayr. We won promotion following a nil nil 'thriller' at home to Hamilton and yes you are correct we had all these guys in the team at the time. II remember being raging at Burns signing an 'old dud' like McCluskey. How wrong I was, he was a fantastic signing for us and until he played for us I never realised just how skilful a player he was. It's strange how football seemed so much better then as a Killie than it does nowadays, but St Mirren fans probably think the opposite.
  18. You are correct, it was Brown who played against Rangers rather than Wilson. It was Wilson who played against St Mirren in the game the picture is of. We won promotion by beating Queen of the South 6 nil, not the Hearts game. The nil - nil Hearts game was the weekend before that and meant if Hearts beat Motherwell in the last game they would go up. Fortunately for us they lost 1 nil.
  19. By the way I'm wrong as we came back up the next season - 1981/82 - as we won promotion on the weekend of my 21st, after Motherwell beat Hearts at Tynecastle. You are right about the 3 horse race in 1992/93. We blew it, then Dunfermline blew it then we finally got over the line. I thought we had lost the chance after you beat us 2-1 at Love Street but you ran out of steam too near the end. Was the 1 nil game the one where it was snowing heavily and it was difficult to see the lines?
  20. Yip - the young goalkeeper was flung in before he was ready due to Alan McCulloch getting his ankle broken at Cappielow a couple of months earlier. He lost 8 to Rangers, then a couple of weeks later 6 to yourselves We were relegated that season and didn't get back to the premier League until 1993.
