  1. Liz Truss for me. So thick she'll make Boris look like a master statesman. Either she'll deliver the boost to the independence campaign or, if is scotland doesn't vote for indy, bring about a tory defeat which will hopefully see the end of FPTP.
  2. He should be able to do it at Premiership level but wont obviously be a 30 goal a season man like he was in the Championship. I never actually thought his all round game was lacking. His link up play and work, both tracking back and running the channels, was always very good for us. The issue was with the way Mellon set up - he was basically the furthest forward defender for us. We created nothing for him (pretty sure there was a run of around 4/5 games where he legitimately only had one sight of goal) and he was having to pick up or win the ball very, very deep. As has been said, he isnt helped by being in and out a team. His injuries in the Mellon season didnt help and he probably wouldnt take well to being rotated.
  3. Quite liked the wee video with Hegarty and Edwards. Bit more effort going into these videos these days.
  4. Think that looks alright. Better than last year's. At least Macron are doing something a bit different from the template kits Nike churned out .
  5. She seems to like Neighbours more than is strictly necessary She seems to be one step away from full blown jihad against channel 5.
  6. One thing I have never been able to understand is grown adults complaining about the strip not being released before they go on holiday. Not for kids, but for them. I appreciate celtic fans treat them as a second skin when abroad but for supposedly normal folk, I do not get the urge to cut about all the time in a football top.
  7. There wouldn't be a better value signing in Scotland this summer than Levitt for £300k. Whether or not we can afford it is a different matter. If we're going to go down the admin route that's the sort of signings I want to put us there.
  8. Pensioners are getting the rise across the board as that's the Tories' constituency. If they were worried about fairness, and only raising the incomes of those pensioners at the low end, they could surely look to increase the amount paid by way of pension credit and expand eligibility for it. Mick Lynch has performed really well in terms of media interviews and has likely bought more support for the workers. I still don't believe you can dish out public sector pay rises that match inflation when it is so far above the reasonable target but a rise of 5-6% should be possible. It also shouldn't be ignored that the reason some public sector workers are so exposed to the cost of living was the years of failing to match inflation with pay rises during the decade of austerity which was a total f**k up.
  9. A welcome and insightful contribution to the thread.
  10. Not exactly the most revolutionary redesign of the crest. I would have preferred to go back to a retro shield shape. No real issues with it.
  11. Give it to Robson and bring the ginger prince home.
  12. I did. Took a small punt of a couple of hundred quid on XRP. It's down from where I bought it. Whilst I understand XRP to be backed by decent technology with real applications, I just viewed it as a gamble on whether they were to win their case with SEC.
  13. I liked Neilson despite others having misgivings. Bit disappointing to see him move on but, as has been said, should we get a development fee then so be it.
  14. Demands for inflation matching pay rises aren't realistic when inflation is running more than double the target rate. I'm all for public sectors getting inflationary pay rises when things are on target, which hasn't often happened in the decade of austerity, but there isn't the money to do it now. It would also run the risk of a supply side inflationary problem widening if all public workers were given 9%. I work in the third sector. I haven't had an inflationary pay rise of more than 1.5% in the last 10 years (1% this year). We are funded by both national and local government to provide certain services and are normally subject to 3 year funding cycles. There is no proposal, nor any realistic expectation, that any extra money would be made available under current contracts.
  15. Dreadful. All our big game players from the "best league in the world" were shite.
  16. Want Liverpool to win purely because I like Klopp, the players and their style but Liverpool fans are arseholes. The Celtic of England.
  17. American Bullys are offshoots of american pitbulls that are meant to have had the aggression bred out of them. Absolutely fearsome looking but should behave like big lapdogs. Im loathe to blame dogs for their behaviour, especially when so many were bred for bloodsports historically. Potentially dangerous dogs also seem to be the choice of daftys - maybe some sort of extended licensing scheme for multiple breeds.
  18. I would be keen to get Neilson signed up. He's only 19 and clearly has footballing ability. I dont think he has been managed particularly well and has probably suffered from being shunted around a couple of positions. I see parallels between him and John Souttar - both came into the side young in one of the most difficult positions for youngsters to play, both decent on the ball which leads them to being asked to cover other positions, both suffer bad injuries at a young age. Would hope that we learn from mistakes from Souttar, especially as Neilson has Edwards and Mulgrew to learn from whereas, in his last season, Souttar was playing with Calum Morris and Coll Donaldson.
  19. Being a baldy b*****d, a baseball cap is the go to when its really sunny or just cutting about in dressed down attire. Wool flat cap in the winter evenings or when looking more presentable is required.
  20. Great finish that the support and performance deserved.
  21. Definitely a penalty. We need another goal otherwise I can just see us chucking this away at the end.
