  1. We'll lose. Any combination of two factors from it being a big game with a big support, live on TV or at Tannadice guarantees it.

It's been that way since 2014. Perhaps even earlier since the spine of Dods, Webster, Wilkie, Gomis, Flood (1st spell) etc moved on. Not the best footballers but would do everything they could to try and win a game.  We might have had better players since then but not the same mentality.

Fortunately we don’t live in a globalised society so we can just ignore the increasing chaos and conflict over water rights and won’t be in any way impacted by the world’s poor increasingly looking for somewhere habitable to live. Fortunately, global migration is an issue that the UK has historically been insulated from and when it has impacted us, we’ve dealt with it really sensibly.

And we have some really robust supply chains for food and fuel and wouldn’t be at all impacted by droughts or other changing weather patterns elsewhere on the globe.

An increase in the northern range boundary or crop pests and human pathogens that a couple of degrees rise in temperatures should also not be a problem. I know scientists say it will but I’m cleverer than scientists. They make all this shit up for research grants you know.

You forgot that the UK has never been under any risk of localised flooding which more extreme rainfall and temperature swings likely result in much more land over the next 20-30 years being put at risk.

Good job that the UK, whilst not suffering from any risk in the first place of course, has first class investment in flood prevention and mitigation and excellent foresight in planning, building and development.

  3. I have two wee dogs and I'm a pretty big dog person but just don't get the attraction of bull and terrier descendents - you're owning a dog whose lineage was specifically bred for blood sport.

Rather than outright banning breeds, which would likely see a load of healthy animals abandoned and/or put down, any animal over a certain weight should require a licence to own and certain breeds should have to be muzzled in public and kept on a lead.

  4. There is no way we were getting Levitt to sign for more than two years.  The plan was always to sell after one year with the hope he, and the club, had a really good season.

Obviously, its not panned out like that and we have to take the consequences.  If we recoup most of the money we paid for him and retain a sell on clause we're doing well.

There's no point in trying to keep him if he doesn't want to be here and, let's face it, he won't.  Seven months ago he was in Qatar at the WC - Arbroath away in 4 weeks time probably isn't the next exotic destination he was hoping for.

  5. Word of caution - regular measurements can be as detomotivating as motivating if you are only tracking weight and don't see the result you want.  Weight can fluctuate and can increase if you're building muscle as opposed to just trying to burn fat even though you'll still get the desired aesthetic changes.

Best thing if concerned about measurements is find a gym with a machine like the Inbody which does a full body analysis and do it once per month.  Not perfect but better than just stepping on the scales weekly.
