We'll lose. Any combination of two factors from it being a big game with a big support, live on TV or at Tannadice guarantees it. It's been that way since 2014. Perhaps even earlier since the spine of Dods, Webster, Wilkie, Gomis, Flood (1st spell) etc moved on. Not the best footballers but would do everything they could to try and win a game. We might have had better players since then but not the same mentality.

Dundee United vs Raith Rovers, 16 Dec…
Aladdin replied to TxRover's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
Don't have a good feeling about this with our history of the wheels coming off campaigns around Xmas. -
Israel And The Palestinians (now with added Iran)
Aladdin replied to xbl's topic in The General Nonsense Forum
This looks to be pretty serious. Massive intelligence failure on the part of Israel. -
Tory Lies, Corruption and Hypocrisy- Add Them Here

You forgot that the UK has never been under any risk of localised flooding which more extreme rainfall and temperature swings likely result in much more land over the next 20-30 years being put at risk. Good job that the UK, whilst not suffering from any risk in the first place of course, has first class investment in flood prevention and mitigation and excellent foresight in planning, building and development. -
I have two wee dogs and I'm a pretty big dog person but just don't get the attraction of bull and terrier descendents - you're owning a dog whose lineage was specifically bred for blood sport. Rather than outright banning breeds, which would likely see a load of healthy animals abandoned and/or put down, any animal over a certain weight should require a licence to own and certain breeds should have to be muzzled in public and kept on a lead.

There is no way we were getting Levitt to sign for more than two years. The plan was always to sell after one year with the hope he, and the club, had a really good season. Obviously, its not panned out like that and we have to take the consequences. If we recoup most of the money we paid for him and retain a sell on clause we're doing well. There's no point in trying to keep him if he doesn't want to be here and, let's face it, he won't. Seven months ago he was in Qatar at the WC - Arbroath away in 4 weeks time probably isn't the next exotic destination he was hoping for.

Dundee United v Kilmarnock
Aladdin replied to deadasdillinger's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
I much prefer relegation in this style. No misplaced hope from gutsy performances, fighting until the last day. Just serve it up to the opposition on a plate and get down as quickly as possible. -

Would still think she would be involved in some capacity in any future independence referendum. The lack of an official capacity didnt stop Gordon Brown chipping in to the last one. Think it will be Angus Robertson who takes over.

I think she was sitting on the bench using the phone, had let the dog off which had gone close to the river. Dog looks like it's about to fall in, she puts the phone down and runs over and falls in herself and unfortunately can't get out.

The Dundee United Thread 22/23
Aladdin replied to Twinkle's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Whilst I would have ideally wanted a striker and a proven centre back brought in, United may just be doing this to troll the frothing roasters on Facebook whose reaction is something to see. -

Would rather have an overweight, can't be arsed, disruptive Watt over Marley Watkins if that's the options available. -

I'm concerned about our squad. We don't have anyone else like Fletcher. Further, if we punt Watt out on loan to a direct rival that's completely mental. -
P&B Weight Observers Thread 23/24
Aladdin replied to Alert Mongoose's topic in The General Nonsense Forum
Word of caution - regular measurements can be as detomotivating as motivating if you are only tracking weight and don't see the result you want. Weight can fluctuate and can increase if you're building muscle as opposed to just trying to burn fat even though you'll still get the desired aesthetic changes. Best thing if concerned about measurements is find a gym with a machine like the Inbody which does a full body analysis and do it once per month. Not perfect but better than just stepping on the scales weekly. -
The get fit, stay fit thread
Aladdin replied to die hard doonhamer's topic in The General Nonsense Forum
Just before Xmas was 81kg and 15% body fat which I was pretty happy with. 3 weeks later somehow 79.5kg and 17% body fat. Seems Xmas binges have initiated some weird muscle wasting condition rather than just piling on the pounds. -

I like Watt as a player and we wouldn't have made the top 6 without him (and Nicky Clark) last season however if someone is willing to give us any money for him probably best he goes. Shame, as I thought he and Fletcher would have worked well together. -
Heartily looking forward to Trump tearing the Republicans apart over the next 2 years.
