  1. Enclosure will hopefully be busy tomorrow. Get along and support the BU’s, never mind the weather it might not happen.
  2. Speaking to him on Saturday and he says hoping to start light training this month. So might be back by early new year, can’t rush these acl’s though.
  3. DD got his wish, another centre-half. Brings the squad up to 19 and probably also one of the youngest squads seen at United. at just under 25 - which includes two 37 year olds. Suppose a striker or attacking midfielder is too much to ask for. It says a wee bit about our strikers when one of our top scorers is our right back Stevenson, the other one being Malcolm - a striker - with 4 a piece. Again we were slow out the blocks but grew in confidence as the game went and they got the result their work rate deserved. A chance this Saturday to further improve our position in the league at home to Hearts U/20’s.
  4. Whit!!!! United fans fickle, how dare you. Anyway a tough one tomorrow against Broomhill just hope we have an “open goal” to aim at. The return of McArthur will give ‘Hunts’ a bit of a dilemma with Irving having performed well last week so a wee test of his managerial skills.
  5. Keir is without doubt one of the best left backs in the league. Irving showed a bit of quality as a centre half on Saturday. My priority would be an attacking Midfielder.
  6. Just on loan till the end of the year, according to Facebook. Brings the squad down to 17 so we need to add a couple. Maybe a couple in Berwickshire fire sale. Rutherford although a good player is a bit injury prone as pointed out in a earlier post by a Tranent fan.
  7. McAulay does cross a good ball and Dalziel must have cursed himself for missing what looked a nailed on goal from a similar cross from the same player. Hopefully a home draw and another decent crowd.
  8. Well there you go. All week with a squeaky bum hoping for the right results, then guess what Karma
  9. Well we did start with our first choice keeper - who kept us in the game, I know that’s his job. Rutherford back at left back- rather injury prone, but McAulay is a more than capable replacement. Darvel moved the ball about well hitting the post and as previously said Musa at his best kept us in the game. We grew into the game in the second - half and Stenhouse took his goal well then a great cross from McAulay was duly converted by Stevenson.. I sponsor a player every season and last season it was Jamie Hamilton(injured) and this one it’s Rutherford (injury prone) next season I’ll sponsor the corner flags
  10. Underwhelmed with last weeks performance perhaps. The players must know themselves they were a poor advert for a football team. Let’s get behind them and get a result.
  11. Winning matches start with a solid defence and ours looked any thing but. The centre half situation has been done to death but from what I’ve heard the management are trying to find one. Going to cost money but who’s going to sell one for peanuts. We won the previous week so why change the team unless you have to(which we did). Should have been kept to a minimum. Hugely disappointed in the performances of Ryan Porteous, scored two in the first match but has been a bit of a luxury player since, maybe there are reasons. I would be interested to hear them. Being second best is not good enough.
  12. Heard McArthur on holiday this week and next but hopefully Hawkins back to fill the gap with McAulay along side.
  13. That’s what all the fuss is about. The millionaire team short of a striker so Mick just clicks his fingers and gets McKenzie - who he managed at Darvel - on loan from St Cadoc.
  14. Come on the BU’s from sunny Provence. Let’s get the winning mentality back today.
  15. We were too pedestrian all over the pitch maybe a hangover from Wednesday when we worked hard to get nothing - that’s fitba’. Would have been preferable to have had Kennedy & Mooney on from the start maybe would have kept their back four busy. On the penalty taker surely the onus is on the Captain to sort it out when Ryan apparently looked none too keen. Tom Grant would have been my choice. A learning curve for Hunts and co
  16. No reason why not. We played well enough no luck around the goalmouth.
  17. The man’s made a choice to step down and take time out. Just a bit strange it’s so early into the season but they seem to have a hard working committee behind the scenes.
  18. Professional job. Move on to Wednesday where we have a more difficult match. Albion Rovers have only played two league games but have been in good form in cups. So get to Newtown on Wednesday at 7.45 and support United.
  19. How dare you sir. Referee indicated that a defender played him on.
  20. Would imagine Porteous,Johnston & Hawkins being kept back for the Albion Rovers match unless they are 100% fit. The squad is decent enough to cope if need be. Perhaps another Centre Half.
  21. No just his usual, riding, two horses with one arse.
  22. Maybe Malcom & Stenhouse up front would have been a better option to start. Second half changes showed the other options available with Dalziel playing the hold up roll bringing others into play and with a wee bit more luck Mooney could have had a couple plus some desperate defending keeping it at two. Continue onwards as we can’t go upwards.
