Just the 7 bookings for McCormack this season equal with Tom Grant and below Michael Gemmell on the diciplinary record table.

Bo'ness are bottom of the fairplay table also on 56 bookings, 2 second yellows and 0 straight reds.

How many games did he miss at the start of the season? As I am sure he had still suspensions to serve from the previous season.

  2. It would appear that we have 10 players from the current squad signed for next season.

    Top goal scores - Porteous 18 - Grant 11 - Malcolm 10 - Stevenson 7 - ( Mitchell 6 from 11 not a bad return so roughly 20 + a seaso) that would do me.

Last game tomorrow, and I would like to thank the team and staff for making it a truly enjoyable season. I would also like to thank the committee for all the work they do behind the scenes. It’s noted and appreciated.

    Echo that.
Maybe tomorrow we can get a victory over a bogey team.

  4. Unlucky with recent injuries to Stenhouse and Mitchell who would no doubt have scored a few each but the signing damage was done before the arrival of our new management team and the good ones had gone.

Thats the case for virtually every team in the country - pity they are few and far between.

First half we gave them very little space and as has been said by others not taking our chances proved costly. Thought Ryan Stevenson was outstanding in the first half.

Nightmare start to the second half left us with a mountain to climb. However we still had a few chances and what looked a clear foul in the box, how the ref judged that outside only he can tell us.

Hope the injury to Travis is not serious.

Naw. He's a good player. Had some great performances for us last season.

Whole team got slowly worse under Stu Malcolm amidst rumours that he (Malcolm) had 'lost the dressing room'. Culminated in an absolute drubbing in the cup at Brora, which itself precipitated the fire sale.

Played in 23 league games was cup tied so missed 3 has scored 3 so far and has a decent long throw, don’t think we’ll miss McArthur.

  7. What we did know is that they are committed to the club ie Hunter 10 seasons and Gemmell in his tenth but management comes withe more responsibility and headaches but they’ve more than ticked the box.

    Priorities a Goalkeeper and striker.

Let's be honest and say they make the rules up as they go along with that tournament.  Let's just finish as high as we can and see what happens

The level of incompetence within Scottish football is off the scale.

  9. Sorry I missed this one but a a great result to keep the momentum going. Three more away games and a home one against a bogey team. No doubts Hunts will get them well and truly fired up to get these over the line.

  10. Good to see the injured players returning to the team especially Jamie Hamilton after about a year out and a goal as well.
I know we like a moan at the match officials but a wee pat on the back for them as they made it look easy compared to a great many who think it’s all about them.

No point wasting time with a bunch of seething simpletons who can't understand plain English and even after it's explained to them continue to berate you for the opposite of what you are actually saying so I'm done with this thread. Got better things to do with my time.

Methinks you’ve over lurked your presence. 🥱

Perhaps worth bearing in mind that my comments were prefaced with, "Suspect it's impossible because of what's unfolded over the last few years and if so this definitely isn't a criticism...".

As things stand I suspect the club is more or less at the glass celing of what can be achieved without some major changes to how it operates that would provide a cash injection to upgrade the ground and fund a promotion push on the park. Kelty reached League One by being willing to tell Tom Johnston to get lost, first join a very unappealing looking EoS and by finding a way to have someone pump money into their club without winding up like Gretna in terms of handing over the keys to the guy on an ego trip. None of that was easy to do.

Bo'ness United initially rejected the move to the EoS the following season and lost its club secretary over that, only did a U-turn at the very last minute and have had "the parasites" emerge subsequent to that. No easy answers on how to emulate what Kelty did but seems to me removing the unwelcome lodgers from the equation would be a necessary step towards getting there. If it is what it is and this season is close to as good as it gets there's nothing hugely bad about that outcome.

Upgrading is the responsibility of the NPA and its income source is the money generated from all the local clubs who use the facilities.

Lucas Stenhouse had a winter training break with the Livingston lads and should have returned by now.  Anybody know why Lucas Stenhouse has missed the last 2 games ?

He is injured apparently. Played in our friendly on the Tuesday and was injured in training next day.. Believe he went with Livi squad on there winter break. We are missing him but Mitchell can soften the blow a little but they would have made a decent strike force together.

Let's talk about the Elephant in the room.

Jack Ruddy does not appear to be anywhere near as good a keeper as Musa.

I understand that Musa has been dropped because he hasn't signed on for next season but neither I believe has Lewis McArthur.

Musa is getting paid for the season and I want to see the best BU players every week.

Jack Ruddy according to Wikipedia has played 45 games, been at 16 clubs on loan at 4 of them. Not a lot of game time in a 10 year career. We need Musa to be playing.

If that appearance from Mitchell was anything to go by we're in for a treat, he has everything to be the 20 goal striker the team needs.

Ruddy less than convincing today but plenty time to get used to the team yet.

Great to see the young lads getting on.

Hope we can continue this run of form, no reason why we shouldn't be targeting second and setting a marker for next season.

Patchy performance today but 3pts just the same. Missing Stenhouse, McAulay, Rutherford, plus Johnston (tonsilitis) Gemmell (suspended). On the Plus side the the return of Keiran Mitchell the consistency of Irving, Kennedy & Travis plus the return to action of Jamie Hamilton who  turned out for the U/20’s in his first game since an ACL injury last January - best wishes.

Andy Murphy was another rumour i heard going around Newtown Park a few weeks back, that’s why I was so surprised to see Ruddy in goal at Cowdenbeath.

Guess we’ve got a few months to look at Ruddy and if not up to it hopefully get Murphy in.

Transfermarket doesn’t have him listed in their current squad but have two keepers listed. In his prime as a keeper at the age of 30. Maybe someone else had more info.

I think you're letting how things ended sour your view of Max's term as BU boss, he took over from a team well out of a title race under Kerrigan to a league title and the East of Scotland CUp winners, hes the reason we're in the Lowland league now and saw us through the covid years with a very old squad. In Max We Trust was a fair motto based on those years, unfortunately when it came time to replace the old heads in the squad he wasnt the man to do it and things fell apart from there, and the less said about the disgraceful behaviour of him and Little in regards to the end of last season the better.

Moving in the right direction now hopefully.

Yet many on here defended Max to the max so to speak .

    Not I though .

I admit I did but it all began to unravel for me with constant tinkering and falling out with players.

This is not all for next season the new lad is hopefully hear to stay  it is still good work from the management all good teams look forward not behind hunts and Michael are looking ahead

The fact he’s signed up till May 25 means just that he’s staying.

  20. 46 minutes ago, FuzzyBear said:

Slightly concerning that Hunter and Gemmill seem to have a decent longish term plan as opposed to the usual shenanigans. Things looking Ok for you at the moment.

After the disastrous Max era when we blew hot and cold due to constant tinkering Hunts & Michael have been a breath of fresh air. Sure there will be bumps along the way but they obviously have made plans already for next season.

I watch this young man when he was on loan a couple season top class a good audition to the team hunts and Michael have been busy all going well the rest of the season is looking good if bu can keep it going all like for next season

Likewise. Especially in a match against Beith where he showed what potential he had. A good bit of business by the club.
