  1. It's got to be some sort of background politicking going on? Going after them first to give City the fear (cynical thought would be so that they dig deep to settle the claims but I doubt that's palatable if Forest/Everton get points deductions) and perhaps strengthen their case when they finally do hammer City - pointing to the punishments meted out to Forest and Everton so they can cover proportionality.
  2. have posted before and caveated that its only from glimpses of him (and wasnt at the game in Cappielow) but is there a strong case to drop Graham and start with Diack? There's probably some kind of "debut bias" thing going on tbf because I remember thinking he looked the part in his first game at Firhill, albeit his first was an unmarked header + the second looked like an O.G to me, but imo we'd get more from starting Diack and bringing Graham/Adeloye on later than the other way round. Graham's still got a part to play, liked the way he took his goal against Arbroath even if Gaston was culpable, but I think Diack's shown enough to start a bit more often. A traditional 4-4-fucking-2 is theoretically possible but don't think we'd risk it given our midfield struggles meaning we probably have to keep flinging an extra body in there so we aren't hideously overrun if we go with two forwards.
  3. nominate this to be the official thread theme, thank you.
  4. Has improved a lot and should at a minimum be good enough to be a rotation top flight right back. You'll need someone right sided in midfield that'll help him a lot defensively imo as he can be shaky 1vs1, e.g. he got turned a few times against Arbroath, think a lot of teams target him too. Can drift out of games, where he'll bomb forward a lot and create a few problems first half but has a poorer 2nd half. idk how much of that is him individually or us as a team tbf. Loves getting into the penalty area, comfortable on the ball, fairly tall but not the best in the air. Funnily enough hes a bit like his namesake Jordan McMillan was for us (hopefully sans the drug habit however)
  5. Bacon - would tend to agree. Id counter that its complemented nicely with a fried egg in a roll, however. Steak - mmrhhhhm, cant agree. Rare/medium rare with a quality sauce (asiago cheese, diane, bearnaise) is at a premium for a reason. Salmon - a fillet maybe but i go the other way on it, if anything it can be too rich. Can go well with cream cheese, eggs benedict etc. Generally anything with eggs is better tbh.
  6. For me seafood wise - Underrappreciated is crab. Spiced crabmeat linguine. Unf. Overrated is lobster. Fillet steak is vastly superior in general, especially at that sort of price point
  7. Underrated - potatos dauphinoise. Just cheesy potatoes, one might think, but if theyre done right and nice n' crispy i could live on them. Maybe not underrated but not something you're going to hear much about, underappreciated perhaps. Overrated - not pizza in general, but chain pizzas (dominos, pizza hut etc.) Have always found there's some other takeaway in the area that can do a better pizza, and cheaper. Edit: underrated - brie cheese. Its vastly superior to cheddar/mozzarella, fite me.
  8. I sort of get it, but an opposition manager making excuses for failing to beat a team that have a player sent off early enough that it should make a huge difference (more forgivable if its late in the 2nd half). Things like "Well, after the sending off they just sat in and put everybody behind the ball, which makes it harder to play against" It doesnt mean you should expect to scud the other team 10-0, but ive found it incredibly frustrating whenever its happened against us and we cant find a way through, cant mind the last time but i reckon it happens reasonably often.
  9. Hrhm. I'd back Aero to handle Oakley (could bite my arse if he gets red carded for elbowing him stupidly in the first half or something tbf but he dealt well with, say, Akinyemi in the playoff last year) but I'm a bit concerned, Dundee Utd have pressed us to death this season and going by the match thread Morton were able to do much the same to Utd in their win the day. Fitzpatrick down the left + Lawless/McMillan on the right should carry enough attacking threat, dont think Lawless/McMillan have been as effective recently but they were excellent against Morton in the 2-1 game earlier iirc. If he plays then running at Broadfoot *should* get us a fair bit of joy. On the other side Robbie Muirhead banging one in against us from 25 yards is always a worry... Edit: might have been the 4-1 game come to think of it
  10. Ended up comfortable, Adeloye missed two great chances but thankfully kept going and got a couple of tap ins. Surprised Arbroath kept the no. 27 on, was clearly struggling the last 10/15 mins but game was done anyway. Few MOTM candidates, Neilson is getting better and better all the time and having a CB that can pick out quality passes is a huge asset, Bannigan was very good throughout but Fitzpatrick did deserve it, was constantly causing problems for Arbroath.
  11. Dunno if im being too charitable but didnt look like Gaston was *too* badly at fault for the goal; Grahams movement, touch and finish from a tight angle all looked excellent. Linesman seems like he cant be arsed calling tight offsides so just flings the flag up every time. Ref also keen to give incredibly soft free kicks. Not a great game so far, think we've had the better opportunities but not too much in it. Feels like we definitely need a 2nd, Arbroath getting first contact on way too many of the pishy free kicks theyve been given.
  12. I... kinda hate myself for laughing at the "aluko and ward are like the fred and rose west of football commentary" line. After he signed for Rangers did he not make some social media post that was a pisstake i.e. "I am immensely proud to represent this Great British football club and shall endeavour to uphold its noblest of traditions"?
  13. Hm. Wee bit of a concern longer term for Milne? Would be a miss if the agent dicks us around/actively courts other clubs, especially the Boab McCullochesque crunching tackle every game.
  14. Just reminded me of a poor lassie that farted an absolute beast in the middle of an exam in secondary school. She was a nice, quiet girl and all Also - fond memories of an old job and the IT guy was standing around discussing some new project with my manager at the time. Manager mentions some new pish the owners wanted to implement; IT consultant guy who was, ah, rather blunt but knew his stuff just scoffed and went "naw that isnae gonnae work" and rattled off a few problems he saw with it off the top of his head... right after which he squatted down, let rip an earth shattering fart and says "so aye, thats exactly what I think of that fuckin idea"
  15. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/celtic-sfa-row-dougiegate-duped-31510878 I know its the record, but ha. The cosmic ballet goes on.
  16. I dont think its been mentioned in the thread as yet, but was it not relatively recently there was a referee strike from Celtic doing much the same thing? This isnt intended as any sort of whataboutery, more making the point that its a dangerous PR game to play - easy to forget that referees have the power to collectively give Rangers a middle finger and either refuse to referee their games until they get an apology/the club get punished, or ref any games in the top flight whatsoever. Also theoretically possible, yeah. You could easily pick apart all of the 400ish penalties rangers have been given over the last few seasons and find at least a few that (leaving aside masonic conspiracies) *look* wrongly given in hindsight.
  17. Yeah, outside Thistle Darian Mackinnon came from a pretty low level and ended up having a good full time career. Was done by the time he rocked up to us right enough. Also initially thought he'd signed from an Irish club (theres one with a similar name, im sure of it... edit: came to me there, Glenavon)
  18. Driving the car slightly forward just before someone you're giving a lift to can open your passenger door.
  19. Perhaps, but surely the endgame is for Saudi clubs looking for an in to start playing against European ones competitively (in, say, a future Lockheed Martin Intercontinental Challenge Trophy #MilitaryIndustrialComplex) edit: wonder if the endgame for the various ludicrously wealthy figures involved in football these days is to do away with things like the UCL, Copa Libertadores etc. and make it a Truly Global Experience For Our Amazing Fanbase Across The World. Fewer games due to the logistics (although tbf would imagine the airmiles covered even in European competitions can clock up a fair whack the deeper you go into the tournament), but if they're organising it the way they want then they can do things like begin to scale back on the transfer window arms race.
  20. Yeah, looked like one of those "done the hard part and fluffed the easy bit" chances you see fairly often, especially at this level.
  21. Rangers bringing in Fabio Silva (without knowing anything about him really tbqfh) feels very much like either an Amad Diallo style flop, or he'll completely rip the arse out of the league with no inbetween. Also thought that Dessers had looked a bit more confident up front when I seen them in televised games, would assume it means someone like Roofe will be offski.
  22. Yeah, inclined to think a draw was fair in the end but we survived a few second half stramashes, was expecting one of them to sclaff in at some point. Neilson probably our MotM, some lovely touches. Wee bit surprised Diack isnt getting more of a look in given his promising debut (unless hes been injured, never really bother to look at the team sheets tbh ) Similar to the Airdrie game with us not getting going 2nd half really, but less comfortable due to the aforesaid stramashes. Once Lawless/McMillan/McInroy run out of steam we cant seem to get anything going. Tbf its partly down to good work from Inverness too, working lots of neat triangles out wide and forcing us to expend a fair bit of energy, McInroy in particular looked knackered late on. Nice footwork from Alston at the goal iirc.
  23. legit felt personally attacked for a second there but then i) im generally a rather good driver so hopefully not responsible for your ire and ii) you'll not find much exciting other than pictures of dugs and cats on my hard drive tbh Edit: im hoping it wasnt a white estate...
