  1. We're absolutely crying out for width in the team. Get McGrattan or Bearne on now!
  2. We weren't terrible, but it was an under par performance today. Montrose were well organised and battled for everything. We were good in patches and over all I couldn't see us losing the game. Not saying if Montrose has scored at 1-0 they would have put us under pressure. But we got there in the end and into the next round of the Cup. Both Jai and Callum got more minutes to get them back to match fitness. And others such as Bearne and McGrattan got some game time. Good also to see King back too.
  3. If we can get one of our many wide players out on loan to enable us to bring in another striker that would be ideal. If that didn't happen then fine we still have options up front in what is now a very strong squad
  4. Good news if French is staying. I actually thought he had a good game against Partick last week. Hes a quality player trying to gain match fitness after being out with injury. I have a feeling he will become a very important player for us in the weeks and months ahead
  5. Good business if Wilson is no longer a "loanee" as it now frees up another space for a loan player to come in
  6. Dougie confirms full squad to choose from tomorrow. Good bench as well for those wanting to stake their claim if they get their chance. Really looking forward to this one!
  7. Think Baird is already signed up for next season. McGrattan has done enough for me to earn an extension, both Power and Broadfoot have come onto games - could come down to age and fitness. Jury still out for Garrity for me, but everyone else should be offered extensions. We don't need a massive cull to this squad
  8. Wouldn't say we needed any urgent signings this transfer window. If anything, cover for Muirhead and Oakley would be ideal. I can understand if both Bearne and Boyd wanted to go out on loan. Bearne was doing fine when he had that run in the first team recently, so would like the idea of him staying and fighting for a first team place. Boyd on the other hand has more to do to impress. Not terrible but not a standout either. Maybe need RB if French gets recalled, but other than that I'm fine with the squad as it is..
  9. Potential for this to be a great game of football. I'm really looking forward to it! All players should be back from injury for this one plus of course our two loanees Garrity and King. Quite incredibly we'll have a full squad to choose from and will have real options on the bench - oh my days! Absolute nothing to fear and with our forwards bang on form there will be goals in this game for sure. I fancy our chances and I can see another win for Morton.
  10. I personally hope we have a contract waiting for Wilson to sign at the end of the season. I don't see him going back to Queens. Dougie more or less said his only concern was French going back to Dundee
  11. Poor defending on the 2nd goal for Utd. Strapp didn't cut out the cross, O'connor lost his man and the keeper didn't come for the cross.. Albeit we look as if we can score when we go forward. Who knows how this is going to pan out. Tighten up in defence and maybe we can sneak a win
  12. Baird has been great again this season, and O'Connor is more than a capable replacement. You could argue O'Connor should be a first pick anyway given his form last season and his cameo appearances since he came back from injury. I personally don't have any concerns about him coming in for Baird. Big Robbie is a blow of course but you have to adapt like any other team who loses a star player. Garrity starting is a bit of a surprise to say the least. But this is his big chance and in football like in life you have to take your chance when it comes along. If he doesn't make an impact today then his chances coming along again could be few and far between.
  13. Why are you worried given Waters is a very decent LB King and Wilson are also there for cover?
  14. Queens park 1 Dunfermline Athletic 0 Airdrieonians 0 Raith Rovers 2 Ayr United 1 Inverness Caledonian Thistle 1 Dundee United 0 Greenock Morton 1 Partick Thistle 1 Arbroath 1
  15. Unless we hit another horrendous injury crisis then we won't have as bad a 2nd half of the season as we did the 1st half. Players back and we now look a lot lot better all over from defence to midfield to attack. We need to ensure our current crop on loanees stay along with Strapp of course. French looks the only doubt so far and Strapp has been offered an extension to the end of the season so fingers crossed. I still think we will sign a striker before the end of the window. We're still not free of the pack yet, but right now with the way we're playing I'd be disappointed not to make a promotion playoff place
  16. Fully deserved 3 points today. Can't remember Mullen having a shot to deal with in the whole game. Every time we went up the park I thought we were going to score. Perfect hatrick for Robbie with his 2nd goal worth the entrance fee alone. Onwards and upwards as they say...
  17. We've had a horrendous time with injuries this season and when you have a small squad it really hits home. I think we only had two 16 year old youth players who had never played 90 minutes of first team football on the bench for one of our games. We've started to get our injured players back and climbed the table again. If you have a small squad of players and go through a bit of an injury crises then you can easily slip down the table
  18. The Wilson loan seemed a bit more permanent at the time. I don't see him going back and perhaps Queens can't afford the finances to bring him back either. French on the other hand could go back to Dundee in January, but he's not back to the player he was before his injury yet. He's been competent for us without being outstanding. In saying that I hope he stays as he has more to give. Strapp staying could come down to finances. Waters should be back from injury by the end of January and is more than a competent LB. Can we afford the two of them? King coming back would put him straight back to where he was before he left. He won't be guaranteed a start every week. Would he want to come back to the bench or play every week at Clyde? Garrity seems to have benefited from his stint on loan and perhaps should be given a chance to prove himself?
