  1. Phasing out private car ownership is an absolute no go unless you live in a city with good public transport infrastructure, in which case you can probably get by on some sort of car share scheme. I think ULEZs should be rolled out across the rest of Scotland's cities, for me it's a no brainer. Most modern vehicles are compliant now and nobody wants your shitty old banger rolling around town. P&K Council don't seem keen to do it even though the shape of our city centre is ideal for a ULEZ. Another thing I'd like more in our cities and towns is more trees. Not only will they freshen the air but they make urban areas look far more attractive and are good for biodiversity as well. I remember being delighted with the number of trees lining the streets of Vancouver when I visited years ago. Every town and city should aspire to that.
  2. *insert jokes about Kinfauns Stables and St. Johnstone donkeys*
  3. WELL NOW. That’s an unexpected surprise. Initial reaction for me is that it looks pretty good.
  4. Thought I was the only one who remembered that… A FILTHY SEX BEAST!
  5. Only good thing wee Rishi has done. Glorious news. Send these foul beasts into the abyss.
  6. Poll edited! Since I started this topic in 2015 eurasian beaver have become a native species. There is however still a long way to go. The relocation of beaver to new catchments across Scotland is proving to be a tedious and unnecessarily long process, despite the animal being granted native status several years ago. We are of course still missing a vital cog in the ecosystem wheel - an apex predator. One can only hope that common sense prevails and lynx are reintroduced in the very near future, and hopefully with that the wolf will follow. I tried to update the poll to add Eurasian elk in - another lost keystone species that went extinct here 2000 - 3000 yrs ago - however it doesn't seem to work. I'll maybe write a piece on here about elk or do a video about them one day.
  7. Cheers mate. I think education and respect is the key really. Nothing wrong at all with enjoying the experience and spectacle of wildlife as long as it's done in a respectful way. It's a great way to teach people about the role and importance of different species in their ecosystem. You are right though, some folk will inevitably go to great lengths to look for them. There was a wildlife photographer charged earlier this year for disturbing a capercaillie lek. There was also a couple of other guys caught doing something similar, they then uploaded a bizarre apology video as if they were being held at gunpoint warning other people not to come to Scotland to seek out these birds. I think your typical instagrammers won't go rummaging around the undergrowth off path for lynx, more likely a rogue wildlife photographer. Lynx are so secretive and stealthy that I think the majority of people would struggle to find them anyway.
  8. I find the Maguire stuff utterly tedious now, it was mildly amusing initially but the amount of shite I see on the socials now with your EPL fan boys coming out with Maguire “bants” is insufferable. It’s even more of a minter given that we are 2-0 down.
  9. Awful, awful dogs - I welcome a ban. There is absolutely no need to own dogs like these. Owners trying to pass them off as “lovable, cuddly goofballs” - idiots. Why don’t you get a lovable, cuddly goofball of a dog that isn’t a 100% muscle killing machine, countless other breeds to pick from.
  10. If Barnes truly wants to switch allegiance to Scotland and wear the shirt with honour then he should be made to swear an oath and bend the knee to King Clarke within the grounds of Scone Palace.
  11. It's a big no from me. He's rejected our advances before on two occasions I believe and only now when Scotland are doing well and he misses out on an England call up he gives us consideration. This is an Englishman who cares more about playing international football than representing Scotland and what it mean to put on the shirt. We already spent years in the doldrums selecting English players with Scottish grannies and it got us absolutely nowhere. We have a squad of players now with an incredible team spirit who all know just what it means to play for Scotland. We don't need Harvey Barnes.
  12. Remembered this thread after seeing the 'Disposable Vapes' discussion earlier today. I've recently been carrying out a eco-friendly transition on my toiletries. In addition to the soap tin and bamboo toothbrush mentioned above, I've recently purchased: A re-fillable deodorant stick. There are a few options but I went with Fussy because I prefer the design of the stick and the scents they do. Anyone who fancies trying it send me a PM and I'll give you a 50% referral discount code. https://www.getfussy.com Georganics toothpaste in a glass jar, 100% recyclable and vegan. https://georganics.com/products/flouride-toothpaste-peppermint?variant=40210389106739 Waken Mouthwash. I haven't bought this yet but will when my current stuff runs out. 100% recycled plastic bottle, carbon neutral, vegan and made with natural products. Optional metal serving cup which looks nifty. https://wakencare.com/collections/mouthwash
  13. Totally in favour of this. I hate vapes. We shouldn’t stop there though, we should banning as many single use items as we can. Transitioning to a societal way of thinking where we reuse things or at least use things that are 100% recyclable is the right way forward.
  14. New video is up! This time it’s a brief discussion about the value and potential of ecotourism in Scotland. I believe rewilding offers opportunities not just for wildlife but for people too, and one of these benefits is through ecotourism. It can lead to new jobs, a new source of income and new opportunities for communities, all the while providing an environment which is richer with wildlife that everybody can enjoy. Hope you all enjoy the video. Not to be missed by my fellow rewilding fans of P&B (or indeed a fan of my hair if you are @101).
  15. Hope the Hibs booys are having a grand time in Lucerne, I have fond memories of our away trip there. Hope you've been out on the pedalos.
  16. SPFL website also saying this was the attendance...seriously, why is nobody talking about this. Somebody, please, join me for a crowdwank.
  17. BBC Football saying the attendance was 8892?! If that’s not a mistake then that is absolutely incredible.
  18. I used to be mad into them but my interest for them and the #barclays has waned over the years. Yeah I'm not some sort of EPL fanboy, European football at the elite level is broken. Despite what it's become, at least English football has a rich heritage and history. The Saudi League for me has nothing at all.
  19. Think I've only been to the fringe once and enjoyed it, going to try and go to a few shows this year I think. Don't really understand the hatred towards the event from folk on here.
