  1. Kilsyth Athletic 5 Lesmahagow 4 Need to stop giving cheap goals away. It was 5-1 to Kilsyth on 55 minutes. Gow missed a penalty and two gilt edge chances. Did well to get back into it. At 5-4, the monumental timewasting by the keeper and others, was poor. However, if our defending was far better in first half, chronic time wasting by opponents wouldn't be an issue. Must do better.
  2. There have been comments from the team to the contrary. I was at other end of the pitch, so I didn't see it but onlookers closer to it, backed up. When add, no 5s ludicrous shouts for offside, etc in the first half. The ref has got a job on his hands. At end of the day, we should've just scored another but we didn't. I am impressed with the improvement in Dalry from last season, they look a competent outfit

  4. Lesmahagow 1 Dalry Thistle 1 Gow scored in three minutes, looked comfortable first half. Dalry pushed on in second half but never looked like scoring until ball hit off defenders balancing arm at corner, penalty to Dalry, scored from that. Dalry keeper kept them in it, Gow should have got another two or three. Later video evidence shows the Gow having a goal ruled offside, when two Dalry players are playing every Gow attacker onside, and the ref was standing in line with it. Frustrating match.
  5. I agree. A freakish spell led to us being 3 down early on. Our attacking play was first class. Four goals in the last ten minutes. I do think us chasing the game from 3-0 from in first seven minutes, led to us being more open at the back, than we would have liked. Won't go down as a defensive masterclass but value for money at six quid. Vale are certainly an improved side from last year.
  6. All teams have to start somewhere. As long as there is a pitch and goals, I'm happy. Although a pie shop should be mandatory. Good luck to them. They've certainly made a good start where it matters, on the pitch. Gartcairn haven't let a cage hold them back. It's turning into a good facility.
  7. Looking forward to the "cage". I will be there, be good to put a face to the name. They've done well up there and considering manager is only 23, says a lot for him. Lochar gave us a good game, difference was our forward line was more clinical on the day.
  8. The Gow finished strongly last season but just missed out on promotion. Made some key signings and had a good free scoring pre season. Team ethos seems to be "attack, attack, attack". Defending in packs all over park too. Really impressed with how management and team are evolving. Third time lucky hopefully.
  9. Clydesdale Cup Final Forth W 0 Lesmahagow 8 (Eight) Gow run amok at midge infested Kingshill Park. Pre match thoughts of a tight game were dismissed as Gow led 4-0 at half time. Polished performance from the Gow to end our good pre season on a high and picked up a wee bit of silverware. Last goal was class: https://www.facebook.com/groups/492969744447375/permalink/1626018187809186/
  10. Yeah I know, but be good to get going again. Expecting a much tougher time than your last visit. We are motoring along well and scoring plenty. I'm sure it will be a good game.
  11. Lochar Thistle 1 Lesmahagow 3 Two well taken goals by Kieran Maguire saw Gow go in 2-0 at half time. Lochar got one back from the spot after a dodgy pass back to Gow keeper. Lawlor scored third for Gow later in second half. Good game, played at a good pace. Gow maybe could have got a couple more. Lochar hit woodwork too. Gow looked assured throughout and good run out before our Clydesdale Cup Final against Forth on Monday.
  12. Clydesdale Cup Semi Final Lanark United 1 Lesmahagow 4 Gow in control 2-0 half time. Lanark came more into after half time and got a goal for their efforts. The Gow then scored within a few minutes to make it 3-1. Scored late on to wrap things up. We await the winners of Carluke Rovers v Forth Wanderers tomorrow night to see who we play in final.
  14. Forth Wanderers 3 Lesmahagow 3 Gow went 2-0 up early on. Forth came back into it in second half, made it 2-2. Then Forth scored on ninety minutes. Gow went down the park and equalised through McStay. Entertaining game. Sets us up for Clydesdale Cup game against Lanark on Monday.
  15. Wishaw 2 Lesmahagow 4 Good to get going again. Could have been 6 or 7 to Gow with a bit of luck. Penalty to Gow, a sending off for each side. Entertaining game for first friendly.
  16. As a tribute to Bigotfest 2023 last weekend in Larkhall. To the tune of Keisha's Milkshake song: Their bigotry brings all the scum to the yard. Their life is sadder than yours, damn right it's sadder than yours I can teach you but you have to march
  17. Be interesting if they did. Imagine trying to lift it, to celebrate. Might do a job at centre half, sturdy workhorse with pace.
  18. Some pre season cup fitba for anyone that's interested:

  20. It's never too late to fire in the chicken manure (pellets). Just throw them down on soil surface and leave nature to sort it out. Anything that needs a boost, handful of growmore at base. It's a ph7 feed, so you can use it for everything. Guaranteed results.
  21. Just have patience with Dahilias, feed them as I said they will come on. Pot seems fine for one bulb, maybe bulbs were poor, it can happen. Lillies seem to do better in pots/tubs than in the ground, I don't exactly know why but they do. Quality of soil might be a factor Make sure drainage holes are unobstructed, raising pot a little can help. Whenever you are planting something, before you plant put a handful of Growmore in before planting, helps all plants, flowers and shrubs establish and gives them a boost. Cereal size box is about £4. Feed your beds with chicken manure mid to end April, spread it liberally all over beds. Its a long term feed, only do it once lasts a whole season and you will see a big difference. 20kg bag is £16 but it goes far. The joys of gardening, so many anomalies but you learn as you go along. Don't be too downhearted if things don't work out. You learn mostly as you go along. Gardening is good for the soul. I've been a self employed gardener for fifteen years and I'm still learning.
  22. Are the dahlias in a shaded area? If so move them to a sunnier area. Flowers/plants have wide variations and it can be down to how they were cared for before you got them. Regards Lillies, just when you said they just rotted away, I thought they were waterlogged. What size of pot are they in? Did you have multiple bulbs in each pot? As crowding can cause them to compete and kill each other off. Most composts are fine for Lillies but John Innes no3 is probably the best.
  23. Dahlias, mix four capfuls of tomato feed in four litres of water, then water once a week. My own react very well to this. The pot you had Lillies in, did it have drainage holes in bottom and a layer of gravel or polystyrene in bottom?
