Been struggling to find time to listen to music recently so took out a Spotify premium subscription last night to catch up with some albums (new and old) when travelling to work. Today I've mostly been listening to ... Big Star #1 Record from 1972 Also played this for the first time in full for ages ...

750ml bottle of Arran Milestone Special Reserve found at back of beer cupboard. Bit out of date but lovely all the same. Matured in bourbon casks and bottle conditioned. -
Jura Superstition and a wee splash of water.

Can of this ... only 70p in Morrisons the other day. Decent enough as it is but very welcome at the price.

Bottle of Hop Fiction now. Nice but not as nice as Arcade Nation. Bit of a tropical fruit taste to this one.
-
Bottle of Brewdog Arcade Nation. Sitting in back garden, listening to music and enjoying the sun. Beer is lovely too.

There was a stall at Saltcoats market yesterday selling cds and records. Reasonable prices on the vinyl and worth a vusit for anyone in the area.

To be honest I was also a bit outraged so being the good, responsible citizen that I am I promptly cleared the shelves before any weak willed person was tempted by those ridiculously low prices. Things like this do nothing to promote responsible drinking.I'm on my 5th can of the evening right now :-) -

Had a couple of pints of the Jet Black Heart in Brewdog (Merchant City) on Sunday and if I hadn't been working next day I would definitely have had a few more. Each to their own tastes but I thought it was lovely. Available for £1.50 a bottle in Morrisons at the moment. On the subject of Morrisons, I popped into the Stevenston branch after work yesterday and they have revamped their beer section with quite a few I haven't tried before including another Brewdog (Hop Fiction? ). On a more pleasing note, to make way for the new range they had a table full of reduced beers which I took full advantage of. Some beers for as little as 40p :-) -
Very early but I reckon the James Yorkston / Withered Hand / Pictish Trail gig at the H.A.C. in Irvine on Friday could very well be my 'gig of the year'. Great music and laugh a minute between songs. Best tenner I've spent in a long time.

Listening to Harry & The Hendersons - Give Me Proof / New York's Lost Island of Lepers 7" single on Electric Honey. Got it the other day in mint condition for 50p from local charity shop :-)

I'm heading over to Ayr tomorrow and the record shop is on my list. Save me a bit of Googling, where is it exactly? The shop in Kilwinning (Rare Trade) seems to be doing well. Only been in once when i was short on time but seemed a bit messy and a tad expensive. I'll visit again when i have more time though.

Day off work, weather so bad even the dogs don't want to go out. Great day for catching up with some music then... Now listening to this.... Brilliant value for only £4.99

Sea Pinks - Soft Days Shades of C86. Some cracking wee indie pop songs and a few not so memorable ones. Decent.

Federico Albanese - The Blue Hour (on Spotify) Beautiful.

Entry Island by Peter May. Murder mystery partly set in modern day Canada and partly set on the Isle of Lewis during the Highland Clearances and the potato famine. I struggled to get into this at the beginning but it picked up considerably when the narrative moved back to Scotland. Worth a read.
