Enjoyed my day at Kilbirnie, been a few yrs since I was there and the result certainly helped plus shaking the hand of one of my all time Scotland Heroes big Gordon. Thought at 1-0 the game was still tight but the Glens defence were solid and the two goals in the last few minutes were deserved of an excellent performance by the Glenafton.

Tonights Friendly Result. EKFC 2 GLENAFTON 1. A very entertaining game tonight saw a disputed corner for EK resulting in a goalmouth scramble with Winters getting the final touch to put the home team in front in the 30th min. This was EKs 6th game and they were well into their preseason and this showed in the first half when they looked match sharper, but the Glens dug in and 1-0 to EK was a fair reflection of the first half. The second half had only 1 min played when an unfortunate clearance by the Glens stand in keeper cannoned off Eks advancing forward McNeil and landed in the back of the net 2-0 to EK.The Glens then took control of the game and the EK keeper earned his fee tonight with some outstanding saves but it was only a delay in the Glens pulling one back thro McCausland in the 60th min 2-1. Both teams were now playing some good football and both had chances to add to the scoreline, but it finished 2-1 to EK in what turned out to be an excellent night of football played by both teams. And good luck to EK and their friendly support for the coming season.Highlights ASAP.

This is not true about the wee clubs unable to develop in the Juniors , all clubs large or small in our area are unrecognisable from 5/10 yrs ago, and I would suggest they are not the only Junior Clubs that have developed and this is without Senior football. To generalise about the Juniors looks good but far from reality, personally my own club due to hard work and an excellent 2016/17 season invested in more of our facilities , and I would personally like this to be a regular income from participation in whatever league.

Again you think it ok to make remarks about me , knowing nothing about me , apart from the offensive remarks that were in the post , I agreed with the rest. I have not made one remark about your character but you seem to think you can make remarks about mine. This is the last comment I will make to you and will not reply to anything you post toward me.

Thought most of your posts were pretty sensible, but now you've joined the rest and slagging off the Juniors, nobody set themselves aloof , the West Teams didn't think the SOS was a viable entry to the pyramid, that was their decision rightly or wrongly , you are now quite happy to accept teams from the Junior leagues so all is well with those teams, again the Big Cup comes up , the number of Junior teams that have taken part are few. Be assured some clubs are not sitting back thinking they are better, but your generalisation does you no favours.

I thought the present cup was being retired due to no spaces left for new names and a new cup will be presented this year, I meant no disrespect to Talbot or Hurlford.

I am of the opinion that the Scottish Junior Cup is for Scottish Junior teams only, if a non league cup was started I don't see anything wrong with that, if the Juniors at some time on mass join the senior ranks then retire the old cup. As far as I'm led to believe Glenafton are the last team to win this current trophy and perhaps it is now an ideal time for change .

I have my own opinion on what I want my club to pursue and what I would like to happen.

They will not take part because they are not Junior, you have to be a Junior Club to take part what is wrong with that, the Amateur cup is not open to Junior or Senior teams.The SFA opened up the senior cup to Amateurs and Juniors and perhaps in 2/3 yrs there will be a Non League cup for all.

Glenafton played two preliminary rounds before playing Threave 1st round , Devoranvale 2nd and going out 3rd to Livingston, I have no idea what monies came to Glenafton in any rounds , but anyone visiting our ground now can see where it was invested.

To be honest I cant remember seeing them at our 1st leg game v Bonnyrigg , but myself and Bonnyrigg both covered the games. They had a camera at Loch Park in 2014 for the semi final 2nd leg Camelon game , they were at Loch Park last season filming the players and team bus leaving. I think they may have covered the 2nd leg at Bonnyrigg with short highlights.

I have read your full post, and in general I have agreed with some of your previous points, but our premier trophy deserves more than a bauble description , this is my last comment to you about this.

Yes I did and you described our premier trophy as a bauble did you not , I have never heard any Junior supporter ,team or anyone luckily enough to hold this Trophy refer to it as a bauble, but you and many others just don't get it.

History or not my point was about the bauble description, but again any excuse to have a go.

Your description of the Junior Cup being a bauble is an undeserved description of our premier trophy, the history and names on the cup deserve more respect than you have dished out.

Do you not think that Clubs will be taking their time making such decisions about their future, i would not expect my own club to rush into anything,and i would not expect them to post anything on here about this, what is wrong with that.

I dont think the SJFA or Clubs or officials of clubs would post anything on here, and any survey returns would only be returned after consultations with supporters, officials, sponsors and members of clubs. This site would be the last place any official results would be posted.
